  1. Mall of America has so much more to offer than I ever realized. What a fantastic picture book of a report! This trip report could be spread to forums across the world and I think everyone would be able to follow along. Well done.
  2. After a well traveled 2018, here's my most up to date list: (The "these are all my favorites" tier) -Outlaw Run -Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts -Maverick -Phoenix -Voyage -Intimidator 305 -Steel Vengeance -Skyrush ~~~~~~~ (this is where there's a slight step down but still top material IMO) -Twisted Cyclone -Millennium Force -Afterburn
  3. Everything looks fantastic. After being meh about Harry Potter and being converted at Universal I'm all in on whatever crazy immersive properties Disney and Universal serve up. Avatar looks amazing and Galaxy's Edge looks phenomenal as well. I'm gonna have to spend a whole month in Orlando in 2020 to take in all of the new offerings!! And that's a great thing.
  4. The name is so generic, but I don't care it's going to be so much fun. Can't wait to ride!
  5. Curious to see the menu/prices. I'll bet it'll still be cheaper/better quality/quicker/everything to go to Dave's instead. ...they should have built a new bathroom.
  6. I saw the concept art and immediately thought "San Fransokyo". Yeah, I'm a fan!
  7. I was wondering how long it'd take before someone asked a question along those lines
  8. That Drop Zone gif is messing with my brain. Great report!! I miss KD.
  9. How many days into the operating season do you think it'll be before they have to put up "please, no terrible towels are allowed on ride."?
  10. That's something I've never heard before! Would love to know more about that. This special edition of the Beast is awesome and the locals will love it. KI is doing a great job at making a 'quiet year' a memorable year.
  11. So I guess everyone is too lazy to use google maps? They're in the area but definitely not next to each other. They should use this opportunity to clean up the racing/sci fi/tribal/snowy mountain mish-mash going on at that side of the park. That area was kind of a shocker compared to how charming the other side of the park was, in my opinion. Flight of Fear says don't forget about me, fam.
  12. Yeah, Coast Rider. I was having an amazing day. My flight was on time, I made it from Chicago to Knott's in 5 hours, I had just gotten off Timber Mountain, and I didn't think anything could knock the smile off my face. I sat down expecting a normal wild mouse and the lap bar came down and we dispatched so quickly I wasn't able to escape. What a sh*tty experience for a normally unoffensive ride type. I hated it.
  13. I knew months in advance that Volcano was going to be closed during my 2018 visit and honestly didn't expect it to open again. Sad I never got a chance to ride it since I love all of the Intamin impulse-type coasters but I'm confident that they will replace it with something great.
  14. Reading, but quick note; I'm proud to say this is standard in Chicago and there are actually signs to promote the practice. Leave it to Chicago to stand out in the midwest and tell people escalators are not for being lazy.
  15. I will definitely be revisiting this report a couple times a year. Love all of the photos and notes. Thanks Andy!
  16. Woah, what a different look with the 5 car train. Glad you were still able to get plenty of rides in even with the less than typical operations. Superman really intrigues me. I'll have to make a Mexico City long weekend trip here soon.. Great report!
  17. Submitted! Thanks for the time and effort on putting this together.
  18. People debate which park has the best 1-2 punch... the Trader Sam's + 'Ohana combo is without a doubt the best combo that exists on this planet.
  19. Great report! Love all of your notes about the experience there and the pictures to go with. Can't wait for the next update!
  20. So B&M is on the contract so of all they have to offer I guess I'm going to believe they are actually getting a giga.
  21. My turnnnnnnnn! 1. Name 3 of your favorite roller coasters, but not your top 3. Verbolten, Space Mountain (Disneyland), Thunderation 2. About how many different parks did you visit in 2018? 1 park a month was my goal for 2018. January - MoA/Nick U February - Knott's/Disneyland/DCA/Santa Monica Pier March - Miss April - Miss May - Carowinds June - Kings Island July - Kentucky Kingdom July/Aug - Cedar Point, Knoebels, BGW, Hershey, SFOG, Kings Dominion, Carowinds again, SFA, September - I rested, haha October - Universal, IOA November - Miss December - Miss Overall: 16! 3. Which 2018 park visit was your favorite? Such a tough call. Knoebels for Glowphest! 4. Your favorite 2018 park addition (ride, food, show, etc)? Twisted Cyclone. I think it really elevated SFOG's collection. 5. What ride exceeded your expectations the most in 2018? Verbolten, Gringott's, Twisted Timbers, Twisted Cyclone, Phoenix 6. Best meal/food at a park in 2018? Everything at Knoebels and Universal 7. What was your favorite new coaster of 2018 NOT made by RMC or Larson? I only rode the new RMC's haha. 8. Dual Dragons, that crazy inverted + sit down Intamin combo coaster in China. 13. Name the first totally middle-of-the-road (not bad/not great) park that comes to mind. Carowinds. 14. You're in Orlando and magically have a 1-hour ERT session on 1 coaster of your choice at any park in the city. You choose... Mummy! Let's make Brandon Frasier jokes for an hour. 15. Holiday In The Park vs. Winterfest. Who reigns supreme? HiTP 16. Mystic Timbers mystery shed or Wicker Man fire infusion? Mystery shed. Good job getting this going KI, I'd love to see what surprises other parks could come up with. 17. Which Six Flags have you been to most recently? SFA 18. Intamin or Schwarzkopf? You may only choose one. Intamin 19. Battle of Kings Coasters: Island or Dominion? Pick one. Dominion 20. What was the longest you waited for a ride/coaster in 2018? I waited about an hour for Cars. I had to wait almost an hour for Ghostrider, too. It was insanely busy on the Friday before Presidents day. 21. What roller coaster have you ridden more than any other? Diamondback, thanks to operating the ride in 2009. 22. Best drop tower under 150 feet? Knoebel's 23. Maverick or Millennium Force? (If you haven't been to CP, pick what you want to ride more) Maverick 24. Log flumes or sky rides? You can only choose one. Flumes 25. What are 3 things you enjoying doing at your home park other than riding rides? Having a drink, leaving for Timmy OToole's, and finding shade. It's Six Flags. 26. What is your second favorite Cedar Fair park and why? This is a tough question because I've only been to Knott's and KD once a piece, yet I've been to Carowinds, KI, CP so many times UGH. Right now I'll say Knott's is my second fav. It had this intangible charm, the boysenberry drinks/food were fantastic, the flume is top notch, and they have great rides. Half of which were closed when I was there and I still fell in love with the place! 27. What is your home park and give us two good reasons why we should pay it a visit. People seem to be having positive visits lately and there's a diverse coaster collection that's not offensive. 28. Launch or Lift? I get more hyped for a launch. I love the anticipation. 29. Did you buy fast pass at all in 2018? Absolutely 30. What is your least favorite wooden coaster? Zeus at Mt. Olympus. 31. Disney fanboys: cool or cult? Hell yeah man be passionate about it. I understand it, and why not have a huge love for one of the best entertainment experiences in the world? 32. Best Batman themed ride? All the B&M inverts are great. 33. Name something that tend to take home from parks that you didn't bring with you. If it's a good park: a full stomach. 34. Best wooden coaster over 110 feet tall? (rcdb will help you) Voyage is a fantastic coaster.. 35. Have you ever been hit with something (loose change/a tree/vomit/etc) while riding something? Nah. Nah. 38. What is the most recent B&M that you rode? Hulk 39. You can eat nothing but corn dogs, churros or funnel cake for the next 48 hours, which do you choose? Corn dogs. 40. Post a great on-ride shot of you from 2018. (DO IT!)
  22. I'm happy you were able to visit a park with better offerings than a wacky work or wild mouse for your 600th park I was really worried that was going to be the case when I clicked in, haha. The park lives up to the name, the coasters are nice and vibrant.
  23. I wonder how many people are still in line waiting for it to come back up from mechanical difficulties.
  24. The Num Num cookies made it to WDW? Awesome!! They look amazing. Thanks for the update!
  25. Great photos! Love the Grizzy session. That whole park of the park is especially beautiful.
