  1. For those who aren't going to Dollywood this weekend!
  2. Scott B.: You'd have to beat me to get it, though
  3. ^I do feel the same about Thunderhead. I thought it was amazing when I rode in 04, but I was young and my coaster count was probably 25. It was great when I rode in November, but Kentucky Rumbler was much better. Diamondback is very different to Goliath at SFOG. Diamondback and Behemoth seem like prototypes to me. The trains really open up a different B&M style hyper ride, I think. The airtime isn't that 'abrupt' but it's certainly stronger than Goliath. Goliath has more airtime, though! For the record, the Behemoth crew came down to visit, and they agreed that Diamondback has stronger front seat airtime than Behemoth, but Behemoth has stronger backseat air! So take your pick! Goliath has the forces, that helix is very intense! Diamondback doesn't have forces, it's just smooth up and down floater airtime. True, after the midcourse, it's really a buzz kill. I mean it's not like there's no airtime, but nothing near the first half.
  4. There's a Coco Key close to me, and it's really for ages 5-12. They have four "medium thrill" slides; two body and two tube which are both enclosed. Buttt they are all pretty much identical so it's really only two different slides. There's also a small lazy river and kids water play area..that's it. Not much, but also not a lot to do. It's nothing compared to the GWL that has the watercoaster, bowl, family raft slide, giant water play areas, wave pool, and inclosed/open body/tube slides. I could stay there all evening. I'd loveeeee to go back to GWL or a Kalahari.
  5. Bootsy Collins is THE MAN! I've met him several times.
  6. Same. I LOVED Mystery Mine because of the whole theming package, as well as the special effects and unique surprises put in. I'm very impressed the with creepy/mystery/dark forest theming, it's right up my alley. Those hooded figures look really cool, I'm sure this will be a fantastic way to pull in lots of different age groups. I think this is a small way to counter "Saw:The Ride"....perhaps? Can't wait to see what other details of this ride will be released. -Zach
  7. LOL! What a fantastic video! "Robb...ROBB! Stop looking at the food..." Bahaha. It sounded like someone said that over a mic. I don't remember seeing this video before, but thanks for the upload!
  8. Check out this polo shirt http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190356971374 nice, eh? Very nice stuff! Everyone LOVED Steel Eel on the Texas trip over the summer. Do you have any clothes in a size men's small?
  9. I think the cold weather makes me move faster. I want to get out of the cold as quick as possible if I'm not suited for it, so I'll be walking quickly. Oh, and the 45mph winds today also helped me move quicker!
  10. There was a party in my tummy, so I jumped in too.
  11. I really hope so lol... But in all seriousness, I wonder which actors from the Harry Potter films will be present on opening day? I may have to try and go through all that mayhem just to get a glimpse of Hermione I think that would be a pretty cool touch, to try and put up some competition with Disney. "Okay, Donnie...would you rather go see Captain Jack or Harry Potter?" Keira Knightley gets the vote for me!
  12. I remember reading the books when I was a kid, and I'm a fan of the movies; this is a really cool new addition. The video was pretty cool, and I'd be really excited to check the HP World out. Shops, coasters, atmosphere... Seeing Universal's effort in re-creating scenes from movies for HHN, I'm sure the details will be beyond that, as it's a permanent new part of the park. Can't wait to see what the end result looks like! Will they have a Hermione look-alike walking around?
  13. You should try rezising the pics so everyone will be able to see them! Looks like an old Schwartzy is in trouble!
  14. I just found this thread; I never look in this forum! This is very cool. I loved doing the K'nex models, I bet this is just as fun! I'll be checking back...
  15. Put me down for Hoosexual, since I like Owl City!
  16. Yeah in 2007 they really had that MCBR turned on hard. Pretty much brought the train to a standstill before the return run. I know the opening year it wasn't like that, and it surely wasn't like that this year. I think the track work had something to do with it. It certainly makes a difference when you coast through the brakes as opposed to stopping on them. They just needed a ready brake/MCBR for a three train operation. If they only had two trains to run, then they wouldn't need it; just for emergencies. But now with only two trains to run, I doubt those brakes are going to see much action at all!
  17. Wow what a huge bummer! I was thinking the same, and went back when the park was open later; rides at night were sooo crazy! At night it's very, very dark back in the woods and very hard to tell what's coming next. I usually only ride the Beast at night because that's when I know it's at its best. Total blackout. -JZ
  18. Wow, I just looked over the deep south trip and I can tell it was a really, really good time! I can't wait to see the footage from the Texas trip!!
  19. Wooowwww. I'd kill to have been there to take photos! Soooo pretty!!! Hopefully I'll be able to get lots of rides and take lots of photos in a few weeks....I hope that Mystery Mine will be open in the weather that we have.
  20. Wow what a really cool looking park! I'm glad to see lots of footage of Pharoah's Fury, it looks like it hauls ass in some of the outdoor portitions; and thanks for including the smoke ring room!
  21. Something Pitt shares with Cinci. I'm soooo ready for this semester to be over. I don't think I'll be using "Homogeneric Functions" in my life time. For the record, the Math Lab wasn't able to help me solve problems and study for my test! Two more weeks, then Beech Bend and Dollywood!
  22. LOVED the Beech Bend video, Robb! I can't wait to get back to the place in a few weeks. The whole Blair Witch style was hilarious and rocked!
  23. We've been doing this for a few Thanksgivings...really good stuff, especially when you inject Red Hot into the bird
  24. Reviving an old thread! Every year my family has gone on a vacation to Hilton Head Island, SC. Next year it seems everyone's splitting up and doing their own thing. This thread gave me some great ideas for a new vacation! Hilton Head's a great place to go. Top knotch restaurants, great beaches, and Hilton head! Australia's amazing too. Where else to TPR members like to go?
  25. I don't think I've posted yet. I take so many pictures, I hardly get one of myself up! nrm.bmp Or being goofy down at Xavier U's campus. db.bmp Random Diamondback tasks....
