Mmmm Cadbury Land. Great report, looks like a nice little park. I love the picture of everyone worshipping the drop tower, haha that's how Kings Island was before the B&M hyper came in. I met a guy this weekend and his accent sounded like an Australian, so I asked where in Australia he lived...but he was from NZ! Australian and NZ accents are so similar! Damn, it's coming up on 2 years since I was living in Australia.... -Jizz"Got some Tim-Tams at World Market today!"Man -

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
PKI Jizzman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just rode it tis past October (in the back seat), and it was noticeably smoother than it was in the past several years. On a side note, the do operate it trim-free after heavy rain storms (when there is a one train operation). I can't remember the dates, but a few years ago I had the absolute worst coaster experience on the Beast. As stated above, I aslo felt like my ribcage was chrushed. The restraint punched into my gut, then it just jackhammered. I got off having breathing problems and actually went to first aid; I said I wouldn't ride again. About 2 years later I rode again, but only in the front seat; didn't go anywhere else. After I heard about the re-tracking I ride in the middle, and it wasn't bad. But that incident I had a few years ago really freaked me out, so I was too nervous to ride again. Yeah, Beast has improved quite a bit in '08 and '09. I only ride at night when I know it's best, a whole new ride at night. I think the Raven is a perfect example at what the Beast should be, world's longest coaster or short like Raven. -Jizz"Raven at night stomps ALL over Beast"Man -
Son of Beast? Nothing is worse than SOB. -Wasting space -Wasting an initial 25 million -Wasting a reputation -Wasting an oppurtunity to turn the park around and install a nice coaster -Rider's concern about safety at Kings Island -Financial/Money losses due to major repairs, trains, and problems. 5M.

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
PKI Jizzman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thinking more about it, I think you're exactly right. That also explains why rides like Troy and Prowler start off so high, then quickly drop off as more well traveled people eventually make their way to ride them. Pretty much everyone went out this year and got on Terminator...many less people bothered to get to Prowler. I believe this is the case with Diamondback, too. Though quite a few did go out of their way to ride it, but I'm sure many didn't vote. That's another thing, trying to figure out who did/didn't vote. 730 ballots is a lot, but at the same time not that many. I can't wait to see where it places after the next few years when enough enthusiasts have gotten around to ride it. Also, the 'charm' of the park might come into play with Dollywood's Thunderhead. It's such a nice, beautiful park...not to mention friendly staff, most people probably rate it highly because of that, too! I don't see Dollywood's charm wearing off anytime soon, so neither do I see Thunderhead's ranking leaving the top 20. Also it's a 'older' GCI, I think that's why its ranking is different than the others. Go Rumbler! -
Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
PKI Jizzman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A few of my top woodies made it: -Voyage -Raven -Thunderhead Kentucky Rumbler placed #27, I voted it above Thunderhead...I don't know why it keeps slipping in the polls! Cornball was just below at #30, and it's my #2. Bummer! I think this woodie deserves better, but this is tough competition. Boardwalk Bullet ranked #44, pretty solid. I was one of the few who rode the whole ERT! Beast ranked #50, and I think that's a good spot for it. It's not great, it's not bad...it's a good fit in the poll. Georgia Cyclone ranked #89 right above LoCoSuMo I must have caught this ride on a GREAT day because I thought it kicked ass! It was in the top 20 from 1994 to 2003!! Hey Cedar Point, tear this piece of junk out! 175 - 2009 166 - 08 170 - 07 171 - 06 166 - 05 169 - 04 167 - 03 144 - 02 147 - 01 153 - 00 135 - 99 115 - 98 103 - 97 73 - 96 66 - 95 42 - 94 ^Mean Streak Cedar Point OH Doesn't that tell you something when it's ranking one of the worst woodie in the WORLD?! -
District 9: This is one of my favorite films. It has a lot emotion poured into it; there was a lot more than I expected from the trailer. The action scenes are VERY well done, and the alien guns are sooey coo! Inglorious Bastards: I liked this film. I can see how many didn't with a lot, I mean, a LOT of dialogue between characters....but it really builds up tension between people in the movie. Great finish, it picked up and slowed down a few times, but turned out to be pretty solid in the end. Hangover: I've heard SOOO much about this movie from pretty much everyone I know. There was a lot of hype going into this, I was already sure that this would be a new favorite. BUT...I was dissapointed; I think it was very over hyped. Some funny parts, but I really didn't care about the characters and I wasn't laughing as much as my friends were. A good comedy, but completely over-hyped for me.

Larry makes a corkboard out of wine bottle corks
PKI Jizzman replied to larrygator's topic in Random, Random, Random
Great idea, Larry! My parents LOVE wine, this would be a great suggestion. -
1. What are your initial thoughts? -A lot of greats perks that I'm sure everyone would enjoy. I think this gives a good chance for the "active" TPR members to really shine and show their support for this great website. 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? -You're already offering a lot, I can't think of anything else! 3. Is this something that interests you? -Yes, as a TPR member who's been around for a while and been on a trip now, it seems like a step in the right direction. 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? -Well, I think there might be disputes between "Premium" and non members...that's it really. Who doesn't like bags of crap?! And with so many parks that are fans of TPR, I can't imagine what perks a Premium Member might get!

Underrated Coasters?
PKI Jizzman replied to Yero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Picked up a few this year: Cornball Express - One crazy CCI coaster! The airtime is incredible with the buzzbars; very scary at times! Steel Hawg - Very unique elements make this ride work. Downward heartline rolls, hangtime, reverse banked turns...insane! Mr. Freeze - Fantastic launch, then 'surprise' launches give this ride the intensity to make it Premier's best work. I wish they made more of these...they ROCK! Shockwave (SFOT) - This ride kicks MAJOR ass! Powerful loops, and airtime that is out of this world. Hadn't heard much about this ride before, and I think it beats Mindbender by a long shot! ERT on this ride was the best! Titan (SFOT) - Truly one giant ride. A very unique feeling first drop, a drawn out airtime hill, and two helixes of black out death! La Vibora (SFOT) - If I'm not mistaken it's an Intamin. I had sooo much fun on this ride! There were little airtime pops that surprised the hell out of me, and the drifting was really neat....huge fan on the ride! Runaway Mountain (SFOT) - One of those Windstorms..but in pitch black darkness! I had no idea what this ride was going into it, and it scared the crap out of me with the 'loop.' My group rode this ride quite a few times. I really liked Boardwalk Bullet! SFOT is one of my favorite parks, as you can see! -Zach -

Mitch Hawker's Coaster Poll 2009!
PKI Jizzman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Robb, I know you're already busy with the site, family, and a job...oh, and planning trips; but have you thought about organizing your own poll? I think TPR members are pretty diverse when it comes to their coasters. Check out the "Where are TPR members from?" there's people from EVERYWHERE! Some even from the moon! The trips aren't really biased on certain coasters, from that I see...I didn't plan on going to Texas to ride coasters, and that's where I went this summer, and found GREAT rides and parks! I'd say a TPR poll would be pretty accurate....but then again, I bet Mitch's Poll is impacted a good amount by TPR, maybe that's as good as it gets Just wondering if it's crossed your mind or something we might see in the future! Then you might be able to weed out those "anti TPR" voters and reprimand them yourself! -Zach -
Most Overrated coaster?
PKI Jizzman replied to BlackWidow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Gotcha. It's a slow down, but it's just for maybe one second. I bet you're a big fan of Millennium Force, then! That's one reason why I like Goliath (SFOG) over Diamondback...DB has a midcourse..and it's harsh. Goliath is balls to the wall from start to finish! -
Most Overrated coaster?
PKI Jizzman replied to BlackWidow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You got a complete stop ride? I haven't had one since 2007. All my rides in 08/09 were that slow down, then immediately launches. (spoiler for those who haven't ridden Maverick!) I liked it when the ride stopped completely, when all the effects of the train crash scene were working. I don't remember seeing it since '07. You'd slow down, then you'd hear and see the signs for a train coming, as well as some fog and blinking red lights. (Like a train crossing) Then you'd launch off, passing through more fog (steam from the train engine) and the hot lights of the train coming toward you, then you'd pop out of the tunnel. Like I said, I haven't had that since opening year. I only remember the hot lights and maybe seeing the train crossing scene... What do you expect? Not existant like Dragster's wheels and fins! -
