Interesting to read about Flight of Fear never having a full queue...Kings Island's has a full queue nearly every weekend. Thanks to Diamondback coming in last year crowds got a bit heavier...get ready Kings Dominion! -

Not at all. That was just my poor attempt at being funny. I do actually like Millennium Force...quite a lot actually! I do think I305 is better, but that doesn't stop me from having MF be one of the coasters I ride the most when I visit CP. And hey...I look forward to the day when I'm riding the "next big thing" at Cedar Point and saying how it craps all over Indimidator! --Robb Besides, when you're on camera and a roller coaster, I'm sure it's not as easy to think and talk compared to sitting on a bench by the exit platform! Especially after reading about how intense this ride is. Great read! Great videos! Great comparisons! Can't believe the USA has built something new that's considered one of the most intense rides out there to this date. Can't wait to ride... -

Having been accepted in the program, this was very informational and helpful. Leave it to TPR! Hopefully I'll choose to do this during a semester soon. -
Very good to hear, especially coming from an older rider! Our night time ERT was pretty rough, but the morning ERT was very good...I was one of the few who stayed the whole hour! This ride is very unique, and if everything I hear about the improvements are right...then this should be a very good ride.

When I think of "Hour queue and ride experience" I think of Indiana Jone and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye at Disneyland. The queue is VERY well themed and even has interactive parts and it also has length AND a pre show/video room. With no line, I think it would take about a half an hour to walk through, ride, get off and walk out. With a decently moving line, I'm sure it could take about an hour to move through. So maybe they're saying the same with Harry Potter. I can't wait to see all the details when it opens!

Kings Island's fan site got the official word. "I have just received official word from the park that Son of Beast will NOT in fact operate in 2010. The park will, however, still be entertaining the possibility of operating it in the future." http://www.kicentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21000 -

Oooooo I like the trains. They remind me of Top Thrill's trains, they look very...speed enhanced like streamlined or something. Love the black and grey on red. The restraints? I don't have a problem with Maverick. I do feel like they press down pretty tight on your thighs because of the very strong positive and negative forces, I feel I305 will be the same. I wish they were grooved to fit your thighs, not just a bar. I haven't had a problem withe headbashing, I'd just lean forward a bit. I think I305 will be the same there. Hopefully it doesn't have a HUGE line in the station for the front seat like MF and TTD had. I've never had the chance to grab a frontseat ride because it will be another 35-45 minutes to wait! Diamondback's isn't bad, but it's hardly ever full because of the seat assigning. It's not that bad! Most don't care unless they want the front, back or middle...and that doesn't happen much. I wish CF used this at their other parks, it helps out with the capacity! And as with Robb, there are other restraints not nearly as nice as Intamin's! -Zach -

Me too. That's about the price tag of a B&M and a new woodie. If it weren't for SOB, Kings Island might be one of the best parks out there right now. Agreed. A B&M hyper could have easily fit in SOB's area. And 8M left over for a new GCI woodie or something. Sigh. But hey we have a rockin' B&M now, so I'm not complaining anymore. -

http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/blog/2010/03/kings_island_hopeful_new_owner_or_not.html "Kings Island may change hands Tuesday, stepping up pressure on the local manager to re-open what has become one of the costliest amusement park rides in Midwest history. A special meeting by Kings Island’s owner, Sandusky-based Cedar Fair, to consider New York-based Apollo Global Management’s buyout offer was scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday. Kings Island General Manager Greg Scheid, in an interview for the Business Courier’s “Fifth Third Business Beat” weekly TV show, says the ownership change won’t be seen by park customers on opening day April 17. What is clear is that Son of Beast, closing in on a $30 million investment, will remain closed for the foreseeable future, said Scheid. An accident July 9, 2006, injured 28 people when a timber on the roller coaster’s frame snapped. The coaster was considered the largest, tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in the world. “Eight days after I took over, the accident occurred,” said Scheid. “We have struggled with it ever since. We have smoothed out the ride. Most people will say they are comfortable with the ride, but I am not comfortable with the ride.” Attendance at Kings Island increased in 2009 thanks to the new $22 million Diamondback roller coaster. Scheid, who oversees the No. 35-ranked organization on the Courier 250, is hopeful for 2010. Kings Island has 130 full-time workers, but hires 4,000 for the summer. “I’m cautiously optimistic that things are going to improve,” Scheid said. “Last year, we saw a huge decrease in group sales. Companies cut their budgets or cut way back. This summer, we’re seeing some of those companies come back but a large number of companies are waiting until the ninth inning to make a decision.” A revamped kids section – conversion from the Nickledeon theme to Peanuts’ Planet Snoopy – is the parks’ major marketing initiative in 2010. “We have just kicked off this past week a Snoopy initiative,” said Scheid. “We are taking Snoopy out to schools, churches, the public. We want to make sure everyone in Greater Cincinnati understands who Snoopy is. Our goal is to reach 1 million Tri-State youth.” See the full interview here. http://cetconnect.org/OnlineVideo/CurrentAffairs.aspx " -

"Timmy" .... Bahaha. ^I think it's funny they were claiming to know what the restrain was based off a zoomed in image from Clint's video of the test run. CLEARLY those red pixles make out a B&M restraint, DUH! -
