  1. And if the marijuana laws change (for the better) up here, they might have problems with that, too.
  2. Went to the park yesterday for the last time before moving back to FL. Four things: 1. Platinum Flash Pass ... Totally worth it on a crowded day. Got on each coaster 6+ times. Hurray re-rides! Flash Pass Platinum works for WC, but didn't allow re-rides, but it didn't matter as we got 5 rides on it. 2. Goliath ... is AWESOME in the front row! Didn't ride any of the other rows, but compared to last year, there was no crazy vibration and each element was taken smoothly. Awesome ride! Second favorite ride in the park. 3. Bizarro ... was running alright. A bit laggy. The front row is tracking excellent! The back row... lots of shimmying. Also, the restraints, as always, are terrible! Unfortunate, because last year, this was my favorite ride in the park, but has since been dethroned. 4. Wicked Cyclone ... ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Though, the vibration made my groin feel a bit... weird. Rode in the middle, back, and front; morning, afternoon, and night; no rain, and with rain. The ride got crazier as the day went on! At night, we rode the front, and back in the rain. The thing was hauling ass! Ejector air on every hill! My thighs still hurt... but I actually think that's due to Bizarro, as WC's restraints are super comfy! The back row gives an unrelenting ride, with stronger airtime than El Toro. The front row gives a fantastic ride without much vibration and the hang-time on the drop is fantastic! Hands down (Or .. up?), BEST ride in the park. My riding preference: Night, rain, front row.
  3. Did anyone actually check out their site? They have a few 3D renderings you can look at of different aspects of the park. The amount of detail in the Giga-Coaster cars and the "Mindbender" flat-ride is astonishing!
  4. So basically they heard all the bitching. And are now building the game again from scratch, without actually saying it. We'll see what happens...
  5. As stated above... here's the gameplay trailer. Lol. Wut? ... UNLIMITED!
  6. El Toro, as mentioned above. Always loud in the station when the train comes rolling back in! Bizarro at SFNE is another, depending if the riders can hear the ride ops over the on-board audio. Cheetah Hunt always has riders smiling and laughing at the end, even clapping on the brake run. Um, notice how these are all Intamin...
  7. Hopefully they'll be able to remove the trims from the first drop now. Also, most unique layout for a floorless coaster?
  8. On my search through records at a local thrift store, I found this gem for $1. Excellent condition, too! No scratches or anything! Does anyone else own this? They also had about a dozen movie soundtracks including Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and Peter Pan.
  9. Fans of StarCraft (or even if you're not a fan) ... type "zerg rush" for some more fun.
  10. How long are your legs? I have a friend that is about 6'4-6'5 that's coming to visit from FL. Now I'm worried the won't be able to ride
  11. Holy... crap...! That looks awesome. I like how the ride goes out and around the entire complex before (or maybe after) reaching the tower. Also, almost a mile of track!? Jeeze that's long! I know that's counting the ascent, too, but it should be quite a wild ride on the way down. And 500+ft tall!? My god. I-Drive is certainly getting crazier by the year! Now, if only they'd figure out a better way to navigate traffic through the area.
  12. I plan on going to SFNE this summer with some friends, and his girlfriend really wants to ride Scream. I know it has the option to be a Turbo Drop, Space Shot, or Combo tower... is it completely random? Last time I was there it only ran the SS cycle, and it was pretty weak. Of course, only one tower was open... does that make a difference?
  13. Started making the rounds on reddit as well: Employee fast asleep at Six Flags
  14. Looks like a larger version of PAX's "Wild Train". Here's to hoping it rides like it as well.
  15. At least we can say this. It'll be better than Son of Beast.
  16. 30 Seconds To Mars' video for "Kings & Queens" features the Santa Monica Pier (w/ Coaster) at 6min. There are tons of other videos that feature this iconic pier, too. This is just my favorite of the bunch
  17. Another worst slide for me. Banzai Pipelines at SFNE. The tight twist right after the initial "Free fall" made my elbows slam into the tube, the flood of water nearly drown me, and the g-forces made it so I couldn't lift my head to even breathe. Not fun.
  18. Just found this video of the Magic Mountain one. Doesn't seem like it has that long of a pause either. I also love how Riddler interacts with it.
  19. The whole park is awkward. Notice how it's one of the only (if not THE only) Six Flags park you can't view with Google StreetView.
  20. That's it! Shizzz was crazy. Here's a few of us having some "poncho action" as we waited 7hrs for Maverick to finally open after numerous breakdowns and all the rain. This is how it worked... 2hrs, the rain stopped, the ride tested, something broke, they fixed it, then more rain, test, breakdown, fix, rain... for 7hrs! Then the gods FINALLY let us on. That night was amazing though! Most of the crowds left because of all the rain, so Millennium Force had a 30min wait, Maverick had the longest at an hour, but even TTD we waited only 40min. I believe it was a Saturday, too?
  21. Does anyone have a pic of the storm that rolled into Cedar Point on the Theme Park Review 2007 Midwest Trip? That crazy-ass looking alien-cloud. I think there's a video of it somewhere that Robb took, too. Edit - Actually, Elissa posted the pictures a few pages back! 7hrs of rain... Not to mention the night prior to this! The power being out when we got TO the park... at what, 1 or 2AM? There was a bad storm that rolled through, hitting us actually at SFGAm, and pulling ahead of us to Cedar Point. No lights were working on the entire island. I remember Mean Streak looming overhead in near pitch black. Hotel breakers gave us flashlights to find our rooms. A few of us pulled all nighters. It was a great time!
  22. I've ridden a few stand ups and luckily, I didn't have to wait long for any of them (Most were done w/ TPR, ERT baby!) so I thought they were quite fun. Great layouts, forces... some to the point where my legs actually hurt! But I can definitely see, if you waited say... an hour for Mantis, then my opinion could change a bit. Standing up on a ride, after standing in line for an hour or more, would suck! You could *almost* say the same with Floorless coasters, they're almost never built, because it's just another gimmick. Wing-rider, flying... they'll all fade away sooner or later.
  23. I think everyone fell for fads, especially around Middle School. Lets see: Tamagotchi (Or any electronic "nano" creature) Beanie Babies Gellyrolls (Gel pens) Moldable eracers Pokemon Yo-Yo's Pogs Silver chain-linked necklaces That's all I can think of at the moment. Though, I'm sure there are many others! Edit: Speaking of Pogs... official Knott's Pogs!? I see Montezuma
  24. REO Speedwagon has cancelled their show, according to their Facebook
  25. What I found most amazing about this ride, is how they painted the track to match the surroundings, trying to camouflage it more. Dirty and rusty coming out of the "Rusty" tunnel, then into a pure white to match the cascading water.
