  1. I once read something about a Vekoma Flyer that was supposed to be in the Dinosaur part of Animal Kingdom, but abandoned because it'd look too "Ugly".
  2. If they were to remove any ride, I'd have to put my vote in for Phoenix. While still a fun ride and a classic, every year the line seems to get shorter, and shorter. I went on a day where every coaster had an hour+ wait (even Scorpion had a 45min) and the wait for Phoenix was one ride cycle. If they were to open that spot up, I could see them putting in an Intamin or Mack Gyro-Drop ride reaching the 200ft mark or taller (Remember, SeaWorld's tower is 300ft). Being in the center of the park it'd give a great view!
  3. I've always enjoyed how Busch seems to adjust the terrain around the ride to make it seem like the coaster wasn't just "plopped" in place. Montu with all the trenches and tunnel, Kumba and how they morphed the terrain to conform the the ride track, especially in the interlocking corkscrews, and SheiKra's Tunnel and trench after the drop. Now, with Cheetah Hunt, the Serengeti doesn't even look the same. Going from a basically flat stretch of land, to an area filled with trenches and tunnels. I think more parks should take a look at Busch and realize that editing terrain at a rather flat park (if affordable), can make a world of difference to a coaster experience. I can't wait until next week when I can finally ride it!
  4. I'm actually really excited for Cheetah Run as well. I wonder if they're really going to race the cheetah's with the actual coaster launch like they show in the promo video. I doubt it, but hey, you never know.
  5. Report him for what? Being one of the millions that take unofficial povs? Don't act like any of you haven't watched a cell/camera pov on YouTube. Sorry I even mentioned anything about it and from this point forward nothing will be mentioned reguarding this issue, at least from me. Carry on the Cheetah Hunt chat.
  6. No, not defending him, bad choice of words. No worries, I already explained to him how dangerous and idiotic it was to do that sort of thing, you'd see that if you read the OP. Just saying, it would've been nice to see an entire video. I don't condone this kind of thing, and have even yelled at complete strangers to put their phones/cameras away, would've done the same if I were riding with him, but unfortunately I wasn't. We're not all perfect...
  7. Don't worry, I asked him this too. I guess it was an early morning shoot, he said they cycled about 5 or 6 times just for video puroposes. After they were done filming, they let them ride as many more times as they'd like to (Until noon) without being filmed... which is when the POV was taken. Sadly, he only managed to capture from the bottom of the main drop, to the end. It also looked like they had the water running for the "canyon run".
  8. Friend of mine had the lucky chance of being an extra for the new Cheetah Hunt commercial/media video that was filmed today. He had the chance to ride in the front and back rows and definitely thought that the back was better for airtime. Sad thing is, he said they staple you so you don't really get the chance to gain serious air after the third launch, but if you had wiggle room, the air would be insane. Overall he said the ride was really fun, but, as people feared... a bit "slow", specifically mentioning the figure eight. He also told me that the launch segments were not as intense as he had hoped, but still packed a punch, the second being the most intense. He also obtained a POV... I won't post because I doubt he had park permission (I already told him how dangerous this is and NOT to do it again)... but, it looks like a very fun ride! (And IMO, not slow according to the video)
  9. Someone has already proposed a Wheel for Orlando and that never saw the light of day either! Some investors must be getting smart. ... which is weird because my neighbor is working on the project as we speak. I'll ask him if I can take pictures of the blueprints. To keep this on topic. Most families come here for Disney and now Universal for WWoHP. Most of these families have children and would be satisfied enough with the thrills located at any of these parks. The only people Orlando Thrill Park would attract would be people like us.
  10. Still playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on PS3 (Multiplayer) ... unlocked everything for Engineer, now working on Medic/Recon. Also started playing RIFT. I know, I know... another WoW, but I actually like it, with a couple nice additions that WoW didn't have. One thing I like are the artifacts found around the world. They're usually in off-route locations, such as on a mountainside or behind a tree and if you collect all the artifacts that fit together, you earn something, such as armor, weapons, or pets. Just got to level 7.
  11. Any Call of Duty game. Games are always just Gun-and-run. No tact involved. If you want a game where you actually have to cooperate and use tactics to win, as mentioned above, Battlefield: Bad Company 2. CoD is fun for about a week... or less, which is the case with me and CoD:MW2... popped that game in once, played... game was awful. Went back to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and still play to this day. Battlefield > CoD
  12. Finally! I remember talking to the GCI team on the '07 Midwest Trip during ERT on Kentucky Rumbler. I asked if Gwazi was going to get Millennium Flyers. They said they were talking to the park about options to update the ride, including adding MF trains. After four years of waiting... it's finally happening!
  13. Because I keep resetting my iPod, here's my top 10 from my Last.fm account. 1. Rush - Limelight 2. Muse - Resistance 3. Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling Into Place 4. Muse - Uprising 5. Silversun Pickups - The Royal We 6. Mew - Beach 7. Muse - Cave 8. The Cars - Just What I Needed 9. Shaimus - Interview 10. Radiohead - Bodysnatchers
  14. Quoted for truth. All this "I can't believe they did this to Lost Continent!" crap is getting old. If you don't like it, don't go into the area. I don't see how it being transformed into something that is actually *recognizable* to virtually everyone is a "Bad thing". Before the transformation I'd walk into the area and I've heard park guests asking what "Lost continent" was exactly... it's so... open-ended I guess. Dueling Dragons, Flying Unicorn, Enchanted Oak... all very "Basic" names.. all themed to generic "Fantasy figures" So this whole "Oh it's fantasy, It's for twelve year olds, I hate it" argument is complete crap. All you older people need to get over it, it's not changing back.
  15. From my experiences on the ride, I find the Front row and Back row to be the best option for a "Smoother" ride. Row 3 and 4 are usually absolutely horrible though... and I say "usually" because the last time I rode it (After the refurb) I was assigned the dreaded forth row, but it actually wasn't that bad. Now, I don't know if it was just because of the train I was riding in, or if they actually fixed the joints between the two cars. I haven't ridden it since, so I don't know if it's the same for every train. Another thing I noticed (dunno if it was posted before, but too lazy to go back and look... damn flu), the wheels on the trains... the "polyurethane" wheels before the refurb were the normal white/tanish color... now they're blue? Different material? Edit: Nevermind, they've always been blue.
  16. Was watching the news about the fire. They said it started in a location that wasn't in the actual ride building itself. My guess is that it happened somewhere near the final lift. Probably someone wanting a puff of a cigarette and threw it into the bushes making the dry leaves catch fire or some idiotic thing like that.
  17. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Just reached level 80 and started the new areas of the game. So far, it's pretty cool. Rock Band 3 (PS3) - Expert everything and working on Medium/Hard Pro Keys. The Keyboard is a great addition to the game, now if only they'd release a more diverse choice of songs for DLC. Queen and Billy Joel packs are awesome though! Need For Speed Hot Pursuit (iPhone) - Pretty cool game, working on the racing career right now, only Rank 3 though. Best racer I've played on the iPhone. Goldeneye (Wii) - Multiplayer
  18. Hmm, maybe they're going to use the old Superman ride structure as supporting for a rocket coaster, similar to Kingda Ka. Hey, I can dream, right?
  19. HAHA! Sorry, kinda funny. Not trying to offend, but... common, you just don't see Jesus on fire every day.
  20. Went today and got there around 9:30. Headed back across the bridge into Jurassic Park to see if WWoHP was open, but when we got to the entrance of Dueling Dragons it was closed off with employees standing there. "Is Dueling Dragons open?" I asked. The employee replies "It's open as Dragon Challenge over in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter", it was open! Walked to The Forbidden Journey and it had a 45min wait, the line started at the greenhouse. As for the ride, INCREDIBLE! It was absolutely amazing. The theming, story, everything. I can't wait to ride it again. After the ride it was about 11:30 and they had all the rides closed and weren't letting anymore guests into the area (According to a sign outside the WWoHP gate it was closed for a private event), but we were able to get two frozen Butterbeers in souvenir cups as well as two Pumpkin Juices, both are delicious but steep in price (But what can you expect from a theme park). I'm heading back on Thursday in hopes of it being open again so I can check out Dragon Challenge's queue, the shops, and restaurants. Erik and Will: WWoHP did open yesterday according to a few employee's, but not until late in the day, sorry you guys missed it! Hope you get in next Sunday!
  21. Amazing accomplishment! I love B&M coasters, and some of the ones over seas look amazing! I say you buy a ticket to China to get the new credit, haha! By the way, any way you can zoom in on the two riders on the far right of Manta? I think that's me and my friend, haha!
  22. Song: Galaxy In Janaki Artist: Flying Lotus Album: Cosmogramma
  23. Here's an image of Google Maps with the layout done in Paint. The dotted part is a "tunnel" in the water portion of Rhino Rally that it'll most likely navigate. I personally can't wait to find out who the manufacturer is, or a side view/artist rendition of the ride layout.
  24. Scraped my back coming off the tall indoor waterslide at Mt. Olympus on the '07 Midwest Trip... the scar is still clearly visible.
