Any trips planned this month?
Real replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Taking our boat up to the Cedar Point Marina and spending Saturday / Sunday at the park. Then Im going to go Mon-Tues (maybe subtract one of those days and go Wed depending on weather) during the morning/day to take advantage of my work scheduale and no one being at the park. -

Taken from first post (last post reguarding this update) ====================================== Here is the entire 3 Gallery set featuring Islands of Adventure, Epcot and the Hotel I stayed at, Pop Century (well, only for 3 days). Most of the gallery is IOA, understandably so. Everything is uber high res. You can keep clicking the photo till you get the full size. Be warned, its huge. The entire gallery is 185mb. http://www.real-coasters.com/florida_parks/ But its worth the time taken to download the pictures, IMO. (Of course, I took the things!) Also, if theres any true requests for posters of any of these, I found a place that does them for cheap and quality should be nice. I plan on ordering one this week to see just what the quality looks like. Expect 22 USD for a 30inch by 20 inch poster (pretty good size) -

it WAS 2.03. Now its 2.23!! Really, I wouldnt mind the prices if they would stay SOMEWHERE CONSISTANT. Thats the most annoying part. One morning you think "ok, on the way back from work Ill pick up gas" Only to find that in a 4 hour span (yes, 4 hour, part time job) its gone up 25 cents!! L!@#!@$!@$

New Kingda Ka testing pics and videos!
Real replied to Jordan Shankman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yea, I agree. Yes, theres more airtime on the top hat, but youll also get trimmed. And even though its magnet trims, I can tell just in the video theres a decent deceleration. The bunny hill is taken really fast, but the parabola is HUGE. Not sure on the G's to expect. Obviously front seat is the ride to be on. Speed + wind + no effect on G's on the top hat since trim is on other side = good ride. But Id rather ride Nitro or Batman. Or Medusa or Superman than this. Having been on Dragster more times than I care to count, its not going to feel any different. Especially being a mear 30 something feet taller. Past 300-350, you need to go in incriments over 50 to substantially feel any taller. There comes a point where tall is just tall. Not an enthusiast ride, but, if the lines right, Ill ride it. -
Cedar Point Trip Help
Real replied to Coasterlicious's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Exactly. MF's lines have gotten slower because of the seat belt issue. Dragster, without weather issues is a PEOPLE eater. Plus, they ALWAYS overshoot the estimated times. Several times last year what was said to be a 1.5 hour wait was 50 minutes, and so on. They anticipate breakdowns, as you should, but it can be alot less too without them. -
Two new pictures! Things are going well...Cork is done, however, I have to trade it out for a lower vertex resolution one since theres no way I could, by hand, make the cobra and connect it to the cork. But dont fret, I have what I did recorded. Plus I have the original before I AHG'd it. Without further delay: http://nldc.interfix.net/p209

Coasters In Need Of Paint
Real replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Magnum XL 200 DID, but I have confirmed (I hope) from a friend whos father does that work that hes been painting Magnum most of the off season. I think next is definatly Millennium Force. That dang thing is not a light shade of purple, far from its nice deep shade of Cobalt Blue :\ -
Update: Its still living, still breathing. Infact, some new life has been breathed into this beast with a completely new Zero G. 3 New Pics at Bottom! http://nldc.interfix.net/p209

Ok. No, the 2005 doesnt have any special meaning, just makes it look more official. I will be working with a fellow friend whos awesome at 3d modeling and texturing and will bring this thing alive. I feel like Im nearing the end of my NL career so to speak, but this I plan on finishing. Im up to the Zero G roll (was super, super hard) and the hardest IMO is yet to come. But heres the NLDC site. NO RELEASE DATE KNOWN So dont ask Im looking forward to finishing this project. For anyone whos visited CS they know that my Top Thrill Dragster recreation is billed at the best recreation ever. I plan to top that, in a very large way. (however, I think till Hydra the SROS SFNE may eclipse TTD depending upon trackwork since hes cheated and hired Phyter for 3ds... ) http://nldc.interfix.net/p209

That was better than great, that was awesome. More Nintendo goodness http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/14416/

I think if you put a GeForce in ANY park with loopers, the Gp could tell the difference between a looper and the awesomness of GeForce. All the hills (GP loves airtime you know) overbanked turns, more airtime, LOTS of positive G's. I definatly think it would pass a GP test anywhere in the states.

Tis a great idea, but you still need credit somewhere. Unless you plan on paying for EVERYTHING (and I mean everything..house, car, etc) youll need credit. Which sucks. I agree, cash is a much simpler and effective tool but credit just is too big and too required. Oh well, gotta go with the flow.

Mean Steak is PALE in comparison to ANY CCI Ive been on. Mean Streak is just plain rough, not in a fun way. Its not fast, not really any air or laterals. Each year I give it a shot, but Im always left wondering why I spent the time. Blue Streak is WAY better. CCI's are smooth, but have alot of laterals and air, so they still feel "rough" but not "beat you bloody" rough. Shoot, Shivering Timbers ending helix had some nasty shimmys in it, but only 2 that I remember and the force of the helix was already pretty intense, but it was all good.

MGM's TOT? Its a pile of scrap now. I HATE the new random systems. Its just like riding a giant Frog Hopper...probably LESS exciting as well. At least on the Frog Hopper Id be scared of it breaking under me. Really, the OLD ToT where you got 2 huge drops was the best. Id take just one big drop now-a-days. My Fave? Easy. Shivering Timbers - Back seat - 4 click Ride 2nd comes in with Dueling Dragons Fire.

Bingo. Im from Toledo area, you guys cant compete with this!
