Its an intense ride but still, if you can ride everything else there, you can ride SR. Great Bear is one of the more powerful inverts Ive been on. The helix before the drop has some incredibly powerful G's - especially for a B&M and it just screams through its course with a speed thats almost too fast. Its over before you know it but still great.

You probably get Robbs money anyways What do you need more for?

GCI posts video of new Beech Bend coaster
Real replied to Justin Adams's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Exactly! I love how they put airtime and crazy forces in the most unique areas. It sets them apart as a different type of wooden coaster. Its not like GG/CCI where you know where the forces are (which, are more fun IMO) but I still love how GCI manages to do a ride like Thunderhead which is just an outstanding ride with airtime and lats in weird places. -
Have you ever even ridden either of them? Or both? Doesnt seem like you have...The OTSR's have no effect on airtime. I got just as much as I would with a lap bar because it presses INTO YOUR LEGS and comes no where near your shoudlers or neck. Your ignorance of both the rides and the posting procedures here at TPR is quite annoying. Grow up.

Steepness doesnt seem to have much effect for me. It does help airtime (though not totally dependant) but reguardless, the only thing I think that would feel odd would be the Eurofighters and their 90+ drops. Once you get past like 75 its all the same. Its steep. Just like TTD and KK. The extra 36 ft doesnt matter. Once you are over 400ft, its all just "really far up there" and you cant tell. It does look like an interesting layout if thats the official one I saw. I hope the helix in it is as powerful as Nitros, mmmmm.

Cars per train- Dragster - 5 KK - 5 Hmm, equals out. 90 degree twist up KK TTD 270ish down KK TTD Number of trains TTD - 6 (5 run normally though) KK - 4 Wait times TTD - Under 1.5 hours KK - Over 1.5 hours The actual core ride is very similar, definatly a "rip" of Dragster but with its own twist...or should I say, hill. Sure theres tons of other things different, especially different things, but Ive ridden both and they are pretty much the same thing except one is very smooth with no shuffle and good airtime and the other has insane shuffle but better airtime. Im not opposed to either ride nor do I have a favourite. KK has potential to be better but its going to take alot of time and tinkering. Frankly, I never liked the dual station and the line doesnt seem to move nearly as fast as Dragsters which is somewhat a defining factor. If Im riding a ride that short (but intense) I definatly dont want to spend all day.

Graphics dont really count as themeing. At least to me.

Wow, that is one interesting looking spider. You got a macro lens of just got lucky with focus? Some serious zoomage and good focus there.

Fan boys can grow up now. I think its time. I love CP, its my home park, but Dragster is not the tallest and fastest coaster in the world anymore. However, as I said, I havent heard consistant good things about KK and I frankly think its near the edge of what Intamins rockets can handle. I had a severe headache after riding due to the shuffling on launch, up the hat and into the air hill (basically all high G high speed areas). Imagine Intamin shuffle, then times it by 10. It wasnt the first time I heard this and it was not pleasant. I also heard many people talking about this in and around the ride area. So its obviously something cronic. I have had reports that it does run without the shuffle but even most KK lovers agree that the shuffle is a problem that needs to be taken care of. Aside from that, lower capacity than Dragster and the lack of access, its a GREAT ride. The airtime hill delivers some great airtime (nothing like SR but also very good) and I think with a fast run, youd get monster airtime over both top hat and the air hill in the front car. I still think however that Dragster is not only more consistant, but also FAR more efficient and a bit more immersed into the park as said above. It feels like its part of the park, not just thrown in there. Not to say the area in Golden Kingdom wasnt awesome, because it was, its just the absolute lack of access to 75% of the ride that bothers me. KK, still a great ride. Once the stuttering launch is fixed (Yup, it pulsed 4 times en-route to top speed), the shuffle is fixed and they open up areas, then I would say its probably ready to take down Dragster. Only time will tell, it needs more time (like 2 years) to get all of its bugs out too.

Where is this themeing for KK? I seemed to miss it. The queue is themed, so is the station. Thats where it ends though. You just race out over what used to be parking lot, go up and come back. I really think its crappy how theres no access to the tower or the camel back. You are so restricted from the ride it isnt even funny. I prefer Dragsters all the way even though KK was margainlly better. Especially considering my ride on KK was not very good. EXTREME Intamin shuffle at 128mph = insane headache (not just me, or my group, but most on my train and other trains that night). Airtime was great, better than expected on the camel but Ive had more on Dragsters top hat depending on launch speed. However, I felt so cut off from the ride. Im more akin to rides where you have access to the different parts of the ride so I can watch the riders and feel like the ride is actually part of the park. KK doesnt feel like its totally integrated with the park. Almost like an "extension" of GK which is an extension of the park itself. Its weird.

Oh, redunzelizer isnt much for sarcasm. -
They call them "rare earth magnets" They have their own charge and own polar field so theres no need to energize them. This is why above, someone mentioned you need kicker wheels to bring it to a full stop. Physics prevents the magnets from completely stopping any vehicle without some other form of friction. It is physically impossible for it to bring it to a 100% complete stop without the kicker wheels. Whatever happened, it was Disneys fault. Thats all I care about. I love Disney but this doesnt suprise me. I dont see why they needed to mess with a perfectly good ride.

Find me another form of transportation that has that kind of record and Ill take that back.

NEWS: Six Flags Turns profit
Real replied to black sabbath's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Apart from all the SF haters I know who will say boo hiss to it, this is GREAT for the industry. Seeing as though they are pretty much the largest amusement park chain, for them to be as bad off as they were its bad for the entire industry. Even while others thrive (like Cedar Fair) for SF to not thrive hurts the business as a whole. Very good news. -

Hey hey hey...you dont have to be on TPR even to understand the importance of THOSE 2 resturants. Come on now, think about it. Fine Italian cuisine and fine fast food dining () No seriously, those are like my top picks for the sit down and fast food chains. -
A secret while riding The Hulk today
Real replied to Erik Johnson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, see he didnt know before hand. So he couldnt have ridden it thinking that, he had to come off then be told. Which he was and that could have triggered some sort of misinterpretation of the ride. However, the way it launches I could see it fluctuating a couple mph here and there. Plus steel rides can get a little faster or slower on any given day. I remember riding BTR after the train was JUST rehabbed, it FLEW. It was moving around so quickly that the crew couldnt even keep the 2 train op moving at a decent speed. The regulars there definatly were noting a considerable difference in the train speed. -
Theres nothing wrong with that answer...
