  1. ^Actually, Maxair is 3 ft taller in full swing than Delirium which I believe is the only other full sized swing in existance. But that is getting petty...but these parks are good at that. http://www.pki.com/attractions/detail.cfm?ai_id=154 http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/rides/thrill/maxair/index.cfm
  2. Late this year it was very smooth. Not a ton of retracking seemed to be done to it. I just felt the ride was pretty blah. As for the thread...probably Mean Streak. But a total redesign would be needed anyways.
  3. Valleyfairs is the exact same specs - reaching a max height of 125ft. So heres the conundrum... Valleyfair I believe makes no mention of it being the worlds largest swing but CP does yet, Cedar Fair installs the same ride elsewhere. Interesting, no? Anthony "Ex-CP Fanboy turned Holiday World Fanboy" Harrison
  4. Reminds me of Top Gun at PGA's loop. The radius IS wider than most they have done. Lets hope its more sustained G's.
  5. I tried doing that last January after Halo 2 was released before the Holiday Season and they were SOLD out as soon as they got them. I had to hunt one down at my local walmart and they only had 2 left. 3 months after Halo 2 came out they were selling out as fast as they got them in.
  6. Halo 2. So epic. Music you can turn on and feel like you arent quite in Kansas anymore. However, nothing beats the classics of Nintendo IMO.
  7. I bought a DDR pad that cost me 60 in shipping. considering the whole thing with shipping was still less than the "brand" models, it was a wise choice.
  8. That could provide some interesting rides though! LOL
  9. Dont even get me started on Unions... Sorry to see that. Just last week I had a kid at UPS try to pick up a 100lb metal cog (best way I can describe it - looked like a cog for a giant clock) off of a metal grating about shoulder height. Not being the brightest kid he is, he didnt realize that lifting that far up out of your power zone and up into your end range is probably a REALLY bad idea. So as he picked it up and attempted to drag it to his body one of the notches in the cog slipped onto the corner of the metal grating. His finger happened to be in that notch I might add. Instant broken finger as I sat there saying "hey, want some help with that?" Oh well. Hes a hockey/rugby player, he can handle it. Actually he came in and worked with it in a small cast which I respect, but still - hes lost quite a few brain cells between the sports he plays and his drinking Hope it heals good Wally! You dont want to be known as the guy with the crooked finger!
  10. Right...and the discounted rate for CP passes is 90. Cry me a river. I know SFEG isnt the greatest park but at least you dont live by the chains largest park and get charged the premium price. Sometimes I wish I lived closer to MIA so I could get their crazy cheap pass that works at all parks.
  11. Driving Tip: Listen to that first part of his post. When the rain first hits the streets which are naturally covered with oil thats saturated into the blacktop it naturally beads up on top. this fresh coating of water is usually dismissed as being just wet but not dangerous. Ive found that alot of accidents Ive heard of came right as it started to rain when people drove like they thought it was dry. Same for when it ends. Most people drive defensivly when its raining so when it does happen its usually like the above - lack of paying attention. However Ive seen so many people nearly get hit or hit someone else right as it starts raining. I find that when the roads look not so much wet but just glossy that its probably a good idea to slow down. It doesnt take much to get it loose.
  12. Dont belong to one.
  13. Trust me, the restraints dont take away G-Forces. They try to make it slightly more comfortable but they only stretch an inch or so and after about 1.5g's they seem to be stretched all the way out. It helps, but it doesnt reduce the G's. And eh, whats the difference between 470 and 600+? Its still going to suck!
  14. That picture scares me... *shudders*
  15. This version kicks Ka straight in the az! A killer paint job. A ride guarenteed to be more reliable. And a ride that probably will be far more comfortable and deliver as much or more airtime. What is with the open station? Doesnt RITA have an open station? Isnt your weather bad enough - youd think your protect the people who may get stuck in the rain standing in line waiting for it to open.
  16. 5 G's on a flyer in the Prone position would stop alot of people from breathing. It really needs to be under 3.5. Imagine someone 3.5 times your body weight sitting on you while you lay down. How long could you go and still be comfortable? Im 190 so thats a 665lb man sitting on me.
  17. Your definition of brainwash must be different from mine. Its a way of life, just like whatever way of life you do, techincally brainwashes you unless you change how you live on a daily basis. Which in most cases is to be like society and Id rather be different from society at all costs. But this isnt the place for that kind of talk - just watch the phrases you use. Personally I think the ideas great. I know of a couple really good songs that can pass for DDR and Ive taken a little time and tried to make my own steps to them on StepMania. The bands that were listed above are accepted on both sides but are in no way selling out nor are they closet christians. The lyrics are obvious and they make it clear what they choose in life. So it proves that the music crosses genres. The only exception I can find is Switchfoot. Relient, Toby and Newsboys are genuine and proof is found in the music. Relient is my favourite right not. Mmhmm.
  18. Its gotta be Mantis. Why? Theres a dive loop in the back. The only stand ups with Dive Loops are Mantis, RRv and Chang. However, Chang runs with 7 cars per train and if Im counting right, that one has 8 which would make it mantis. Plus I believe I have that book. lol.
  19. I do not remember Kinzel stating he wanted to top Dragster. I remember him saying he wanted to go "out with a bang" and thats a quote, but no topping dragster. If he did, I lose alot of respect for him.
  20. ^ I agree with him. Theres certain "laws" for certain elements and that breaks the law. Something isnt right with both the drawing and the render. Wish we could figure it out!
  21. Actually the flying position does NOT allow for more G's than sitting down. Why? When sitting down the G's push down on your head from above you (or below in the case of negative g's) Our bodies are great at handling these. Our design enables us to handle crazy G forces for short durations and even some high forces for longer periods of time. Say, when you plop down on a chair, you can pull up to 20 G's. Coasters as you know, reach up to just over 6. However, when in the flying position (lets say on your back) the G's are pushing down right on your chest. The rest of your body can handle this except maybe the eyes but this is where it counts. Ever had someone say, even slightly bigger than you (1.5 times)? Sucks right? Imagine having someone 3 times your size sit on your chest. See, the body cant take as many G's pressing down directly on your chest. It flattens the chest cavity and severely constricts your breathing. So much so that I really think anything as strong as the Pretzel Loops held much longer than that could cause people to pass out or develop some sort of attack. The position your body is in makes a huge difference - not piddly. Of course the G's from the track are what cause it but your body cant handle as many G's laying down as it can sitting up.
  22. This wont be easy...most ripped from my site so they have a tacky border. MaXair
  23. LOL I do the same thing. I watched POV's for Thunderhead awhile but it still suprised me. Even with knowing layouts Im always suprised by the forces. For instance, I knew most of Ravens layout but didnt know it did the quick right left jab at the base of "the drop". That was a shocker since first ride was back seat. heh.
  24. I see nothing wrong with the 8 person gondola on a 400ft drop ride. If engineered correctly, would be fine.
