Skyward Bound [NL]
Real replied to IwantRevenge's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Since when does a persons skill determine what they can say and not say? Do any of us here design real coasters? Except for the guys at GCI - no. But dont we critique the rides we ride? Dont most people say Arrow and Vekomas are rough? And Intamins and B&M's are smooth? Using that logic none of us then could critique because since we dont create them, we have no right. Well, thats false. Just because you dont create good NL rides, or even create NL rides at all doesnt mean you cant tell between a classic or a poor ride. Some of the best critics Ive seen dont design in NL at all but they can tell who does good work and who needs help. And help doesnt have to come in the form of techincal data - though thats encouraged, its not needed. Layout advice, elements, anything you can think of can be of help to someone to stimulate their brain. So dont go telling others what they can and cant do based on their abilities. That is NOT a measuring stick for who can rate and who cant. -

LMAO You are joking, right? I mean the lats arent super bad, but Id say anything over -+0.6 is too much for this type of ride. His reaches -1.5 and over 1 two other times and its got like 3-4 turns. Thats not preventing lateral G's, thats creating them - and ones that are too intense as well. -
Transformers: The Movie Trailer Released!
Real replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Grew up with Transformers as my fave cartoon so I have to support this. Looks quite cool and it was sweet to see Optimus Prime show up. So what if its like every other action movie - what action movie isnt? They are all the same. -
http://erwinmcmanus.com/ That book. Ive read Barbarian Way from him as well. Not much of a reader - except for stuff like this.

I highly doubt the rumour of the ride actually moving is false. Remember, they dont just set the footers down into the ground 20 or 30 ft. Those things are drilled WAY down. The ride Im sure was not in danger, however, the path probably was. That retaining wall looks to be alot more for the pathway than the ride. If any part of that rides supports moves, it would yank something else out of whack. Im sure they were well aware that the soil around it couldnt be depended upon to hold the supports up. Nice update. Glad to see SFMM is on the uphill climb it deserves.

Alternative eaters-Vegitarians, Vegans, Carnivores...
Real replied to Xme3's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yea...at 14, I hope thats a joke. I would say I am most like coasterdude5 - I am not allergic to fish and sea food but I havent quite aquired a liking for it yet. Awhile back my mother cooked up some fish to which I ended up getting a few bones in it - it really scared me for awhile. I still cant really eat anything but fish sticks and thats cause its processed. I think Ill try some crab or something thats supposed to be good no matter what. I love greens and I love meat. Just the way we were intended to eat. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Which videos...the cut scenes on the main page or the actual coaster animation? Cause the animation is about the best youll find - thanks to Keith McVeen. But the cut scenes, eh - I dont think they are any better or worse than the MF vide. MF video was incredibly cheesy. So are these. -

That is BOSS!! Add that to my list of things to do while in Europe... -
Yup - no denying a great like that. Except, since him, theyve had nothing.

1964 - Which, imo, doesnt truely count. It was still National Football, but not the modern league which weve had around for awhile. Before then they were sweet, winning 3 or 4 times. But thats over 40 years now! lol.

Kemah Boardwalk and Bullet Discussion Thread
Real replied to eddie200330's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah. I don't like the whole out of Control feeling. I prefer the more, how should i put this, superior sort of layout, with a lot of hills, etc. More like the Voyage, then this new coaster. (Texas). lmao. Voyage is the definition OF out of control. The only thing thats remotely "normal" are the first 2 hills...then its complete chaos. This ride looks very similar but rearranged in a triangular pattern with lots of swoop turns and tons of drops and hills. Sure they arent the large straight hills, but as Voyage shows, they can cram a hill anywhere they want, even in the middle of the turn. You meant to say you prefer an out and back, but even then Id still say Voyage and this ride, if its got the same pacing, will be similar. Otherwise, GREAT ride. Its jumped to the top of my most anticipated list. -
I was speaking of some synthetic wire that would say, be seen in ultraviolet or heat vision. Obviously the trip wires are hard, thats the point. Im talking of something similar to the silly string but with a much longer range application than right on top of it. Plus, if you silence it, it could be much quieter. Imagine a small BB with a few hundred feet of synthetic wire that can be seen with some sort of aid but not to the human eye. Shoot that slienced across streets and alleys and youve got the same thing but with a longer range application. You could then just trace that wire and where ever its being held up, take note.

But they allll lump into the same category - worst in the NFL. And at least the Raiders have been good before. Recently. Browns....never

[NL 1.6] Destruction
Real replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
lol @ ageist. Is that even a real term? I dont care how mature you think you are, untill you reach something like 22+ you really havent begun to really mature. You are maturing, but far from it. And in reality, it takes a lifetime. But at 13, you dont have much room to claim you are mature. Just think about that... -

They could do the same thing but make a very small gun loaded with some very thin plastic or composite fabric that could be invisible to the naked eye but show up with some special goggles and they could shoot that over longer spans, especially at night, flip on goggles and look for anything there as well.

Taco bell ecoli problem spreads to over 40 cases now
Real replied to Primogen18's topic in Random, Random, Random
Kinda hard to boycott something thats closed down... And if its open, why not? Im quite sure that they will quickly track down the sources and then find out which stores would be affected as well as the area and shut down. Im here in Toledo Ohio and TB's are still operating as normal... -
Well, when it does get cold out and really cold, your skin first turns red before it turns blue Plus, if you get so cold, it feels more like a burn than a freeze. Plenty of reasons red can fit.

The Internet Wood Coaster Poll Results Are IN!
Real replied to jjeerr's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hells yea! And a decent whoopin it gives out! No suprise in the polls. I assumed the top three would play out exactly like that. I was suprised that Thunderhead fell a bit, but oh well. Still a classy ride. Wood is good! Ill take the entire top 15 over any steelie in the world. Except like 2 or 3. And with this new TGG ride supposedly going into Kemah, wtf its a crazy layout. -
Geauga Lake Discussion Thread
Real replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have ridden The Boss, and I'm not sure if it is the Gerstlauer trains, or the fact that the ride is designed by CCI that makes them so rough. CCI designs rides with high laterals and I think that may be the reason for their roughness... but then again it really could be the G-trains... Both. High lateral designs with SMALL leadins on radius changes plus trains that have hard seats, very little padding and heavy lap bars = pain. -
Who Will Play Ohio State for the National Championship?
Real replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Random, Random, Random
But if Ohio got beat by Mich and they ended up 1 and 2, I still wouldnt think a rematch is worth it. You GOT your shot, you BLEW it. Thats it. You shouldnt get multiple chances at an opponent. Part of the coolness of college football is the fact that alot of the Bowl Games are by teams that have never played. With that said - the results: Title Game #1 Ohio State vs #2 Florida Sugar Bowl #4 LSU vs #11 Notre Dame Rose Bowl #3 Michigan vs #5 USC Cotton Bowl #23 Nebraska vs #9 Auburn Tostitos Fiesta Bowl #8 Boise St. vs #10 Oklahoma Fedex Orange Bowl #6 Louisville vs #14 Wake Forest
