  1. If anything, Arrows are the least pumping rides out there. They usuallly used ALL constant radii. They had small and little to no lead ins and lead outs for their elements so they stuck with very rigid constant radii. Look at a ride like Magnum where each valley and each crest had the SAME radius. One constant one. But Intamin hills start with a good radius, then get tighter at the apex, then get larger again. Most steel coasters DONT pump on accident. If it does, its a design thing. Other than that, most early century woodies DID pump over the tops of their hills. Go ride Big Dipper at Geauga Lake. Pumps over every hill. But its GREAT. 2 doses of ejector air instead of one.
  2. Apparently Cinthia is murdering her now...sad.
  3. I can reach into the mind because I battled severe depression for nearly 3 years, thought about taking my life. I have a dad, but he wasnt there for me in the years I needed him most. I have a list as well. But remember, its all relative. Some people deal with deaths better than others. To some, a death of a family member might not mess them up as much as some other issue. But I came close to taking my own life with depression. Thats how I can reach into the mind - I was there. I came to understand that no matter what happens to you in your life, most of it is out of your control. And because of that, like every one, life is what you make of it and how much you enjoy life is up to you. I agree with you, people with true depression or even people who maybe are teetering and just need help, they should get it. EDIT - As for calling some of it an act, that deals with the high school kids who arent really depressed, but maybe are outcasts and the whole emo crowd will take that person in. However, thats the oxymoron. Where you would think that groups of emo's would be able to turn each other from emo to something better by caring for one another and taking care of each other, it just seems to end up being very seperatist. While they all stick together, they dont try to do much for each other. It only takes one person to change a life and make an impact.
  4. Got engaged on Sept 29th!!
  5. Actually, most of the time its just an act. A group if you will. ^Everyones life is crappy in some way. Remember, thats a relative term. Everyone has their ups and downs. Its how you deal with the ups and downs that makes you who you are. In the end, its all your choice - no one elses.
  6. No Way! Chuck Norris endorses any game where you can get hurt!
  7. That's an excellent book. Traver was a character who was every bit as interesting as the crazy rides he built. I wish I could find a copy for a reasonable price. The current price on Amazon Marketplace is $100, which is too steep for me. I'm not that nerdy, yet. Yea, I had to pay 75 for mine. But its in absolute Mint condition so it was worth it. It seems to be reselling for almost double that consistantly.
  8. @ SoCal - Probability is just that though, probability. Its probable that Ill eat breakfast, but not 100%. If its not 100%, then its not a fact. And if its not a fact, its on the same level as faith. As for your last quote of me - you said you disagreed but then agreed with me. What I said is that it takes equal faith for both. Reread my sentence you quoted. Plus a few points - Theories are not proven. When they are proven, they are called facts, or laws. (if they make it that far) - Numbers - In this world where the human is severely underdeveloped and uses barely 15% of its brain, how can one even think that the numbers and systems we have created cover all possibilities? Of course, its all we know but in reality Science and Mathematics are alot like God. There is ALOT that cannot be explained because we cannot and will not ever wrap our petty little brains around all there is or, even wrap our brains around things weve been fighting to figure out for thousands of years. Its mind boggling to think that numbers in general could either be wrong, or uncompleted but the fact is - its possible. Sadly, Probability says that virtually anything is possible. Just because we cant wrap our brains around something doesnt mean its not probable. Just means arent as smart as we think we are. Just never forget the definition of a Theory: - a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact. Its gotten way too easy for theories to come out that happen just over the 50% mark and suddenly OMG its true! based on probability.
  9. Yea!! Someone was givin love to Dane Cook in that one group shot!! http://www.danecook.com/_img/extras/dtops/shadow_800.jpg w00t.
  10. ^That goes for everything though. Lots of systems are quite good. But people are inherently stupid and bad. So, since we are not perfect, everything screws up. The flip side to alot of this is that the same faith required to believe in God is required for alot of science. Alot of the things that we throw around as fact are mearly just theories and hypothesis's which are, in reality, nothing more than someones idea. If someone chooses to believe it, without it being a scientific law, then its mearly having faith in someone elses findings. Theres alot we cant explain out there. Alot of it needs no explaining. Most of it doesnt actually. But yes, Dawkings states his belief at fact though its just his belief. Ive said the same thing all along. It takes as much faith to beleive there isnt than there is to belive there is. That much is a fact in this arena.
  11. Its called Photoshop
  12. Best - Voyage Worst - Great Bears is "meh" but I have to go with Mantis's figure 8's of doom. Anyone who thinks Raptors ending is harsh obviously doesnt ride with their head back against the headrest. If you press your head back slightly, voila, no bang. Works everytime, doesnt matter if you are big or small. Its when you sit there like a parapalegic or stick your head out that you create tension in your neck and put your neck in an End Range position which is bound to hurt anyways.
  13. Yea, Im not sure who or what was mean. Just offering suggestions and tips to make your ride better. Also, when you use elements from another ride make sure you figure out who made it then ask first. Its only common courtesy. When you are in school you dont take other peoples work and turn it in as yours, same applies on the internet. Also, you can easily heartline anything with the Automatic Heartline Generator. Its not hard to learn and it can take any peice of track and heartline it to your needs. Making that heartline roll that you used from my Hydra took me like 2 minutes to make.
  14. I broke my arm on the monkey bars on State Property. Seems like my parents should have went nuts on the local Metro Park and gotten a bunch of money. But then I wouldnt have learned a nice lesson - dont try to impress people while on the monkey bars. Bad idea. And this is coming from the great Northeast, the place that thinks rollercoasters kill~!
  15. Good detective work, but, as with all work that I do, I dont need anything to see my own work. I can spot elements I created a mile awhile. Mostly because I probably spend hours and hours on them.
  16. Hes talking about the trackwork, not the inversions or elements. Hes talking about the smoothness, or, rather, the fact that it shouldnt be smooth. Did you take that heartline roll from the Hydra that was included with NL 1.6?
  17. Nice, however I like the Underoath picture. Good CD.
  18. BTW thats not a snapping turtle. IT looks like a regular painter. Do a google for snapping turtles, youll see they are quite the little (rather large) prehistoric looking beasts. I saved one from being ran over on the road and raised him up over the winter then released in summer. Wicked little things. Nice TR.
  19. Awww come on, Im everywhere! I just lurk in the shadows. Good thing for the color. I kept looking trying to figure out why it looked so strange then it hit me. Ride looks pretty good with a few interesting turns. Supports look great as well.
  20. Only one ride has that and its because its so tall that varying weather and train conditions could cause rollbacks. All you needed to use was a brake segment, turn off kicker wheels, then turn off block segment and youd have some trims. However, I feel a properly designed tophat wouldnt need it anyways. KK is the only one to have trims at the top. And I thought it was one of the lamest things ever.
  21. Nice pictures and nice TR!! Too bad neither one of us got each other in a photo. Im still waiting for that day I catch myself taking pictures in someone elses photos on here. Carnage, its not the entire weekend thats bad. JUST Saturday. Ive never been there on a Friday where MF or TTD were over 30 minutes and Ive never been there on a Sunday where I couldnt walk onto one of those rides at some point. And its never gotten bad at all on a Sunday. Its just Saturday. Avoid it like your mother in law.
  22. You couldnt even give credit to the guy who innovated that environment? That saddens me. BTW I would match the color of the track to the wood on the supports since its pretty much the same type of wood. Looks really goofy as is. Especially since its almost got pink in it.
  23. Why do you have kicker wheels at the top of the hill????
  24. I was there that day taking pictures. When I got there around 8pm the park was LIT. and by LIT, I mean almost using the OVERFLOW lot. Heck, the line for the Donut shop at the front was almost as long as Raptors line.
