  1. Actually, theres a defined round plate on top which is obviously a connector to either a footer or support. B&M's connectors to my knowledge are ALL square or rectangle - not round. Intamins are round. So are Arrow S&S.
  2. So, safe to say theres more than just floater on this beast huh. And to think, this is a ride that probably has like...100-150 rides under its belt? whats it going to be like mid-late summer at night after a warm day and a cool night?!?@!#!#
  3. I doubt they will. Will was integral in the design and he wanted a certain experience and I dont think he will strip that of his guests.
  4. That isnt a real picture...its a computer render. Its been up since they announced the ride.
  5. I think its actually Intamin or S&S. Look at the round indentation on top - connection to support and all B&M's are square.
  6. To say it will be the best ever...is still an understatement. Long live Voyage!
  7. Your age does matter because you made the immature mistake of assuming how I look at coasters on a single post. Quite the assumption eh? Many, many other factors matter but what makes up Millennium Force? Height and speed. Why was it built? To be the tallest and faster coaster on earth. I really think you are confused. Why on earth would my top 3 rides in both wooden and steel be an average of 93 ft in height and my steel top 3 be at an average of 121???? The fastest ride in my top 3 is 82 with Storm Runnet which is 150ft tall with a 190ft drop. Next time you go to call someone out, get all the facts. If you looked at why I brought up the fact that Ive visited CP a ton of times is because its another factor that plays into my take on the whole Cedar Point issue. Would you believe a veteran whos seen it all or a one time guest whos views are probably skewed? You may get a very glorified view from the one time guest but youll get an honest review from a veteran. If you want, Ill gladly explain what I look for in coasters and what I enjoy. Just, dont go and assume you know what I look for. The LAST things on my list are height and speed. I could care less for them - hence why I think MF isnt so great. TTD is an exception because acceleration is another factor I enjoy alot.
  8. Theres 2 within 20 minutes of me. Thinking about working at one too.
  9. Sorry for the double post, but this kid needs some knowledge. Maybe you are right, but you are just thinking about the air hitting your face, .. air.. speed and height matters a little bit in a coaster, but a huge difference from a coaster and your convertible idea is that.. a car can't make overbanked curves, helixes, raven turns, pretzell loops, dive loops corckscrews.. heartspin rolls, cobra rolls.. (Maybe they can, but you'll come out dead XDDD). What i'm trying to say is that a coaster gives a special feeling, that you only feel in a coaster, and maybe in the Extra 3000.And, nothing's perfect ^^ a good example is your non opened mind. Non-Opened mind...funniest thing Ive heard all day. Kid? Im 23. Ive had a Season Pass to CP for almost as long as you have been alive if you are 15. Ive ridden it more times than I can count. MF does one thing - it goes fast. When it first opened, this was amazing. It was the coaster of coasters. The height never really affected me - even on that first ride which was a day before the media even got to it. What Im saying, since you are trying to bill me as someone whos closed minded, is that I dont get much feeling from it other than speed. I have gotten out of the CPFanboy stage and visited other parks which showed me: MF's airtime is weak. Its speed is pale (next to TTD). Overbanks are just turns. MF's G's are weak. And MF doesnt have helixes, raven turns, pretzell loops, dive loops corckscrews.. heartspin rolls, cobra rolls...I was talking about MF - not coasters in general. Its one of a very few rides that makes nothing of the awesome speed it has. Its like anything else in life - it wears off. When you are nearly a worker there you go there so many times it starts to wear off. However, it was more of me getting out and visiting other parks and seeing that CP isnt all its cracked up too be. I would venture to say that 90% of all coaster riders who have been to more than 8 parks in their lifetime including CP probably dont list CP at the top. There are several reasons for this but most everyone who raves about CP has either only been at CP and no other parks or, its been one of the few parks they have visited. I just dont get how Im closed minded, haha. Everyone gets a different feeling from a ride. Does that make me closed minded?
  10. Had the original Marathon on our old Apple. I still remember it, even if it is vague.
  11. Yea...Is there a way to ensure these people dont reproduce? Oh wait, he will probably do that himself.
  12. ^More stable is what weve been trying to say from the get-go. lol.
  13. Or you just screw all that boxing and crap and draw things like I do, LOL. I could never do those basic shape things. I guess I have a gift, Ive always been really good at recreating still lifes or other pictures. I think once I move into my own apartment Saturday and I have more room, peace and quiet Ill get back into drawing.
  14. For a better mental picture: Hook up 2 car trailors that only have one axel to each other and by themselves see if they can steer or maneuver at all. BTW, your picture is cutting off the first car. Theres 8 per train, not 7. Interesting how that picture contradicts this picture: And theres your answer. Again.
  15. Oh, but they are. Thats why the first 2 are joined together to give the rest a base to trailor off of. You cant trailor off a 1 axel car - you need two axels - hence why floorless and invert trains have the first 2 cars joined.
  16. No...it wont. They say itll be 150ft tall so itll be 5 ft short. I still dont get why every single place that lists highest inversion always forgets Volcano: The Blast Coaster. I mean really, its most clearly an inversion at the top - not some overbanked turn. Do companies, media and PR really not do their homework? Theres so many resources out there now...
  17. ^ Hmm...I disagree. First drop, yes. First camel back? Even from the back its not evven floater. Second camel back is barely floater thuogh its better in the front. Third is ok but over too quickly. You arent really getting air in the overbanks, just a pause in the acceleration and deceleration. MF is crazy overrated. Been on it more times than I can count. If I want smooth as silk and to go fast (height is boring) I go ride in a convertible down Route 2.
  18. If you do not think your HW pics are High quality then maybe you need a good pair of glasses JEFF The ISO was at 800 that day (I forgot to change it) instead of the whopping 200 I like to use, sometimes 100. Basically I had to do a ton of editing to make those look decent. But check my IOA ones against those. My IOA ones print out to 20" by 30" with no graininess.
  19. http://www.real-coasters.com/images/gallery/Holiday%20World/index.html Robb, if you need any pictures from my site there, just email me which ones if they dont have a watermark of the sites name and Ill throw one on and you can use it. Unfortunatly my HW ones arent the highest of quality but thats going to change opening weekend.
  20. The first two act as the hinge for the rest to trailer off. Simple as that. Its the same principal as wooden coasters that trailer. They need the front 2 axels to trailer too and since Inverts (and Floorless) dont have the nice full zero car on the front, the first two rows get that honor.
  21. I NEED to get back to Hershey this year...GRR!!! One of the best parks ever. What a collection of quality rides...
  22. Dont forget Hades and the others...that whole area is a great area.
  23. If you think its great thats fine. I can get the same feeling by driving to CP in a convertible with the top down. Height is way overrated unless you have some fear of falling out of a perfectly safe rollercoaster. Other than that, it averages around 69mph from drop to finish so as long as I go 70mph on Route 2 for around 2:30 seconds then Ive experienced MF minus some G's. If its the only (or one of a few) parks youve been too thats when you think that. Once you get out, most people realize its not that great compared to some other much more complex and stunning creations.
  24. Sounds alot like Battlefield 2 on the PC. Except, BF2 on the PC supports 64 player maps and is probably far larger than any game on a console. Still, glad to hear the SOCOM series actually being what its supposed too and not a doom-like rampage set with realistic weapons.
  25. I reserve the right to my opinion. Having been on MF more times than I care to mention and having been outside of the Ohio amusement park area I have found its mediocre at best. It goes fast, thats it. Height isnt a big deal. You could throw me up 500ft - Ill have the same reaction. Theres airtime in 2 places but too brief for it too matter. Only G's in one place - the drop. Plus, havent you found out by now that the "ratings" are just that? Those Golden Ticket ride rating awards are so ridiculously crappy. All of their other awards are pretty correct but the ride ones just follow the latest trends and which ride "should" based on its status and location. You want a REAL poll with REAL pollers and REAL answers? Check out the Steel Coaster Poll that accompanies the Wooden Coaster Poll. http://www.ushsho.com/steelrollercoasterpollresults2005.htm 3rd behind two rides that are obvious WAY better than MF just by looking. Sure, many, many people believe it is the best. Thats fine. But I think facts speak for themselves on this matter.
