  1. When I used to go to the park, a good five years ago now. There was a thing where you could upgrade your daily admission ticket to a season pass. However, I think you had to do it the same day you went to the park, and it wasn't just "paying the difference". You ended up paying more then you originally would have if you had just bought a season pass to begin with. Granted this was a while ago, and they may have changed their procedure. Hope you get the job!
  2. Lets see.. SFMM: - Raise season pass prices. - Remove a few of the less popular coasters and replace them with large flats. - Add theming all over the parks, possibly changing themed areas. - Build a Tony Hawk Spinner, possibly themed to something else. Maybe call it "Cyclone" . - Lower food and drink prices. - Build less "chain" restaurants. - Landscape several coasters, such as Scream!, X, etc.. - Build a "Shoot-Em-Up" type ride in Gotham City. - Hire more staff, in order to run rides to full capacity. - Reorganize the way on ride photos are made. (Take away the photo card they give you). That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
  3. My favorites are X, Tatsu and Batman the Ride.. In any event those are the ones that I "Must Ride" before leaving the park.
  4. ^ I didn't hear much about the tunnel.. does anyone know anything specific? Like is it going to be "underground", will it be a concrete tunnel? Wood? Spiderwebs like X^2?
  5. This happened to my brother on Top Gun at Great America a few years ago. Nothing is more frustrating then waiting in line for an hour only to find out that you can't ride it!
  6. ^^ Right, sorry. I just assumed all Vista users had switched back to XP by now
  7. There's something you can download from windows website I believe. It's on this page http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx The program is called "Image Resizer", simple huh? Happy resizing!
  8. If nothing else this ride features a great gimmick, being the steepest drop in the states.. no matter what Hershey says, hah. There's a chance I will be visiting a friend in Indiana this summer, so both this park and Holiday World are on the agenda. I'd really like to ride this, it looks very unique - albeit possibly painful. So even if the ride isn't fantastic, it will definitely boost attendance if advertised properly.
  9. I'm pretty sure this is the Pony Express thread.. not the "OMG What Will Knott's Get Next!?!?!" thread. Anyway, after talking to the GM of Zamperla, I've gotten a little excited about this coaster. The seating arrangement sounds like it will be great for not only comfort, but capacity as well!
  10. ^ I assume then that it isn't quite ready to be opened to the public then? Great trip report! I hope to make it to this event next year! =].
  11. As I mentioned last night, there was a tour that went on yesterday. Sadly due to high wind conditions they were not able to top the coaster off as planned. You can check out the whole update here. Here are a couple of the pictures you will see in this update.. Enjoy! This is my favorite picture, it gives a great look at the future station. The hard hats worn on the tour.
  12. From what I heard, there was supposed to be a media tour and a "topping off" ceremony at the park today. So you all may see some pictures pop up on Coasterdom soon.
  13. I used the CoasterFanatics thing for my steel coasters, but since I have so few woodies I decided to do it the "Old Fashioned Way". My pathetically pitiful list. 1. Ghostrider 2. Blue Streak 3. Giant Dipper (SCBB) 4. Roar (SFDK) 5. Colossus 6. Mean Streak 7. Psyclone 8. Grizzly (CGA) Gah, I can't wait to go to Hershey next year...
  14. Matterhorn at Disneyland, Ghostrider at Knott's.
  15. I got 22 out of 25, I can't believe I didn't know how many coasters HRP is getting..
  16. Yes, I'm young and can manage to spell fairly well.. There is a difference between "outgrowing" and "growing bored of" a park. I have grown bored of several of my home parks over the years, and that's only normal. But the caliber of rides at SFMM are hardly greater than that of SFFT's, and you will eventually grow tired of SFMM as well, and than what? I suppose I just don't understand your theory of "getting bored and moving on". But whatever works for you.
  17. ^ If your kids have "graduated" from those rides, they've "graduated" from rides all together. I don't understand how you can "outgrow" a 150 foot floorless coaster, get bored sure but not "outgrow". And the number of rides has nothing to do with Shapiro, that customer service that you talked so highly of, yes, that's Shapiro. Your entitled to your own opinion of course, but I think your making the wrong assumptions, and using the wrong words to describe how you feel about SFFT.
  18. I'm nearly positive that it's a sound effect. I can't say 100%, but I'm pretty sure it is, as there is not a similar sound on Xcelerator.
  19. If I understand you correctly (and I think I do) that is the new "shocking ending" to the Mummy. I was expecting some animatronics or something as well, but what you described is indeed the normal version, not an "option B" ending.
  20. I've seen mice near the Matterhorn at Disneyland, as well as birds at several parks. Such as a seagull at Cedar Point, the stupid thing got hit by Raptor! Ah good times..
  21. ^ Or steal the number one attraction at Great America.
  22. While it still pisses me off that Stealth was removed, Boomerang Bay has boosted attendance I believe.
  23. Home park: Disneyland. Best ride: Matterhorn Tomorrowland side, just a tiny bit better than Fantasyland side.
  24. ^ I believe it's going to be a part of their "Holiday in the Park" thing. So they will still be closing October 31st, but they will re-open in December for Holiday in the Park.
  25. ^ How on earth is he wrong? Are you saying that the fire is the parks fault?
