  1. I got stuck on both towers of Deja Vu the first time I rode it. We got up to the top of the Psyclone side tower and we were stuck up on the holding brake, thing for a good fifteen minutes. Than they finally dropped us back and we got stuck on the other tower for another ten minutes. Getting stuck facing straight down towards the ground was not fun.
  2. As far as I'm concerned this announcement wont majorly help the park. Yes, I agree the announcements look fantastic! However, the park itself still has some major kinks that need to be worked out. Hopefully we'll see some improvements next season.. Because Firehawk was...?
  3. I'd like to see some hard statistics on that 'fact'.
  4. Wow that looks fantastic! I hope that concept art becomes a reality.
  5. Great trip report, I can't wait to go in May... Did you see any track pieces, or any kind of vertical construction?
  6. The same reason they add a steel coaster to a park when they already have one?
  7. When I lived up there we all called it Paramounts.. Although our parents still called it Marriotts, and still do. Old habits die hard I suppose.
  8. Sweet Trip Report! (Pun intended) I'll see you in May Hershey!
  9. Your mom! (I tried) Maverick does it for me, although I haven't had the chance to experience El Toro or the Voyage.
  10. Big Thunder, back seat, night ride, booyah. Amazing how much faster that ride feels in the back at night!
  11. If we're playing that card... my whole family despised it. You could see the track on Space Mountain, and the soundtrack was..boring to be quite honest. Rockin' Screamin's soundtrack was barely even working, and the parts that did work didn't sync to the ride the way the real soundtrack does. All I'm saying is, if they bring Rockin back it sure as hell be better than last time!
  12. Please God no! It's possible that they're training new employees..and closing it for two whole days..just to train employees.. Than again.. Jake "Please don't bring Rockin' back!" Sundstrom.
  13. Thanks for the update! Where was the track that he could walk right up next to it like that? ^ I'm pretty sure it will be marketed as a new ride next season. Perhaps as a replacement for Hypersonic?
  14. It's not a question of "If the last car inverts then it's an inversion." It's the element on the ride that matters, not what cars make it through that element. But if the whole train doesn't pass through the inversion, it shouldn't count, right?
  15. I'm not trying to be "high and mighty" or tell anyone else that their wrong. Sorry if it came off that way.. True. I suppose I don't hold California Adventure to the same standard as most people. It's a fun park, just not up to par with the rest of what Disney has done.
  16. It seems to me, that your all expecting another Disneyland (Which is impossible). But than you turn around and complain when they try to make it more like Disneyland. Disneyland also has a good 40 something years on DCA, so I wouldn't expect DCA to become perfect overnight. It takes a long time to perfect something like they did with Disneyland. And I do think that we all hold Disney up to a higher bar than Six Flags or Cedar Fair, which seems unfair to me. We shouldn't expect more out of a Disney park just because it's a Disney park.
  17. I think some of you "Disney" fans need to chill out a little. Even if it's the 'worst' park in the Disney chain, it still trumps the top Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks by a hell of a lot!
  18. I have ridden it, and most of the time the back car(s) don't completly invert. Therefore not an inversion in my mind.
  19. All great coaster sites have to start somewhere.. The first time TPR opened it's "gates" so to speak I'm pretty sure no one had heard of it either .
  20. I've always thought of DCA as "Randomland". The place where Disney puts the rides that wouldn't fit in Disneyland, whether it be physically or theme-wise. The additions looks good, but DCA still seems very "Randomland" to me.
  21. I voted for TPR in most interactive and best overall site. RCPro got favorite forums and design. CoasterCapture got favorite new site of 2007, and best photography (if you havent seen it you should really check it out). CoasterCritic for best blog. Kevin and Nate Show for favorite podcast. Dorney Online for best park specific. RCDB for knowledge based content.
  22. They should just sell all the parks except for Cedar Point. Than move all the coasters to Cedar Point, and than Cedar Point will be "teh roxorz". Just you wait Cedar Point fanboys, it's bound to happen one of these days .
  23. ^ Because it hurts. Bad. Magnum is the most over rated coaster of our time, hands down. Painful, boring, the works.
  24. Interesting. I think the t-shirt idea sounds great, I'd love to get my hands on one when the design is completed. It'll be cool meeting Marty and all of them on opening day.
  25. Sweet trip report, thanks for sharing. Looks like a nice park, would love to get out there one of these days.
