  1. Geesh what more were you expecting from a park being built from the ground up and not covered by a theme park chain? I mean this sneak peek was MUCH more promising than that Wild West Park that open then closed in like 3 days lol! Wild West World was backed by one man in the middle of Kansas. Hard Rock Park is backed by one of the most successful restaurant (they do hotels too ,right?) chains in the country in a very popular tourist destination. so, excuse me if I expect a little more then Six Flags quality theming from such a large corporation .
  2. Nice trip report, although I must say I am not really impressed with the park so far. I'll wait till I see more trip reports with the whole park opened up, but at this point I'm a tad disappointed.
  3. This is what destroys your argument. It may be very smooth for an ARROW. But since Arrows are rough.. saying that it's smooth for an Arrow doesn't mean a whole lot.
  4. SFA doesn't need anything, because even if they were to build a Dark Knight in that park it probably wouldn't boost attendance all that much. And even if it did, the whole thing would be vandalized before you can say "Batman".
  5. I was able to watch all the videos this round, and for the most part enjoyed them all. Cody - Very good video. You had some great shots, and the song worked well with the footage you had. Matt - I wasn't overly impressed with this one. It actually reminded me of one of my music videos, and not in a good way. The music seemed to just be "there" like it served no purpose other then to have background music. Next time when you have talking segments, you should lower the volume for the music at that part . Ryan - Very nice video, the opening was great. And while the POV footage wasn't anything o jump up and down about, it wasn't too shaky and it served it's purpose. I really enjoyed the ending of the video, it turned out quite nicely. JimmyBo - An excellent video. The footage was timed perfectly to the footage, and the human element was fantastic! Keep up the great work. Justin - My favorite by just a little bit. There was some great shots in here, and I enjoyed the multiple park aspect. So while it was close, I would have to say yours is my favorite for the great song, footage, and the way it all synced together. So.. yup.. congratulations to all who participated in this round.
  6. Whatever it is, I also believe that it will be going to Six flags Great America in 2009.
  7. They also don't go to a park for rides that can be found at your county fair.
  8. Then plan your trip on days it isn't supposed to rain. Even with the rain policy, the park is worth a visit.. note "a" visit.
  9. ^ Plastic cavewoman. There's a caveman on there too, been there since my parents were kids even. Sweet trip reports, it's nice to see pictures of my former home parks .
  10. What I don't understand is why this is a big deal. Other big parks, like Busch Gardens, Sea World, and Cedar Point have been doing this for *YEARS* Why is it suddenly an issue when Six Flags starts doing it? Because the majority of people complaining only ever go to Six Flags parks? That's my only guess.
  11. Great update, Jahan! How does the water look for Jet Stream? Last time I went it was a lovely shade of.. brown actually. I don't really have a problem with the locker policy, as I wont need to use a locker! Also, most families have at least one non riding member in their party, so it shouldn't be too big a problem.
  12. Link I have a feeling that this is what people are talking about.
  13. The Matterhorn at Disneyland on Monday. That ride is so cool .
  14. Hoorah, now everyone can listen to their favorite Hannah Montana song while waiting to Behemoth! Yay!
  15. That's insane! I know the slides of that type at Raging Waters are incredibly painful near the bottom of the drop.. I can only imagine how crazy this one must be.
  16. I just finished eating a couple of the "burgers" (Those little suckers stick with ya don't they?) and here is my "PTR". I give them the "Jake thumb or approval".. of course if im stuck in the bathroom in two hours.. we'll see how I feel! Mmm looks tasty.. and it was, I assure you! I give it a thumbs up! After they have been in the oven for 15 minutes (wrapped tightly in foil) we take them out to sit for two minutes. Put steaming water at the bottom of a broiler pan.. put the lid on, then put the burgers on! We've already nuked 'em, so lets give them a go in the oven! Set to 350 degrees.. It gets the Noelle thumb of approval! Lunch is served! The cooking instructions. 6 little "burgers" all lined up in a row. The box that holds the key.. to a greasy ball in your stomach.
  17. So I walked over to Albertsons and picked up a box of white castle burgers. I already tried one microwaved and it was pretty tasty! I now have a couple in the oven to see how they compare. I'll post a trip report in here after I'm done! (If that's okay of course) Jake "Likes his frozen burgers" Sundstrom
  18. ^ In all fairness, I could see how that kind of "mistake" would be made, as it isn't a conventional inversion.
  19. I felt the same way. The ride looks so amazing, but then you get on and.. well, it's Mean Streak.
  20. Great video, had me laughing the whole time! My dad used to eat there when he lived in New York, and it explains a lot actually.. hmm..
  21. That helped a lot, thanks! I wont be trying this video again, I'll wait for the next one, haha.
  22. The Matterhorn has some track work done last year. I went a week after it was done. As did I, it was so smooth! Easily some of the best rides I have ever had (or ever will have perhaps) on that roller coaster.
  23. ^ I believe there was a New York Times article that confirmed that. I found this web page for the ride while browsing google. Apparently the attraction in California Adventure will not open until late June?
  24. Do you know what (if anything) it was used for? Edit: ^ I thought it may be something like that, thanks! It is possible that they removed one of the cars from the train so that it could operate on Boomerang.
  25. Silverwood is "infamous" for running all their coasters in one train operation all the time. This amusement park is also home to a ride formerly located at Knott's Berry Farm, the Corkscrew. During it's stay at Knott's I believe that the Corkscrew ran two trains, but now that it has moved to Silverwood it only runs one train. So, does anyone know what happened to the other train (if indeed there was one)? Is it being used for spare parts at Silverwood? Or was it sold to another amusement park for use on another ride? Thanks!
