  1. Volcano on Monday. The more I ride it, the more I think they should have made it a 3700 ft coaster instead of a 2700 ft one (another inversion or two wouldn't have been so bad either). I still love what's there though.
  2. Nothing really breaking here but was at KD the other day and according to at least a couple of ride ops it looks like Hypersonic is as good as gone after this season. I asked one of them if the park would be getting a new roller coaster for next year and the response made me chuckle. "We're getting Batman next year." I tried to put any realistic spin on that comment and the best I could come up was what PKDCoaster mentioned earlier in this thread. Perhaps Dominator (formerly known as Batman - Knight Flight) will be making an appearance courtesy of GL.
  3. I came to the conclusion that I have the biggest legs ever. I couldn't ride FoF today because the lapbar couldn't come down.
  4. And what park would that be? Speaking of scenery, I love the view of the James River as you crest around the top of Griffon's lift hill.
  5. You can definitely do BGE in one day on a week day. It might take two on a Fri, Sat, or Sun.
  6. I hope they don't re-theme it Harry Potter style. I went inside to eat when I was at IoA but my friend decided he didn't want to eat because of the prices.
  7. Kumba's ending was fantastic.
  8. Nice pics. Are people still kidding Tex about his wanting to get college credit on this trip?
  9. ^Some conspiracy theorists (I'm not one of them) say that the foul-up was on purpose to drum up sales. I like the trip report on SFoG. I went there about a year ago and had a great time but I definitely needed the Flash Pass to do all the major rides. Count me as one of the Ga Cyclone haters as well. I rode in the second row of the first car and it immediately became one of my least favorite roller coasters ever. I rode the original Cyclone earlier this year and it was like night and day.
  10. I'm the same way!! When I first got back into riding coasters I was like, "Do I really want to ride 8 different Python Pits just to up my count to X number of coasters?" Then as I went along it became more fun, kind of like a challenge. So yes, one day I will go to as many Jeepers as possible to ride all of the Python Pits! My coaster count seems small compared to the majority of people on here--60. One thing I don't think should be counted towards the overall count is a roller coaster that's been relocated. I've ridden Wild Maus and Cheetah Chase. That should only count as one credit.
  11. ^ Led Zeppelin is the signature ride at the new Hard Rock Park, set to open in spring of 2008 in Myrtle Beach, SC.
  12. If that picture complainer is on the trip I think the whole group should go "soap in a sack to Pyle's gut" Full Metal Jacket style! Edit to add: And how sad and pathetic am I? On coastercounter.com I'm adding credits day by day for the ones I would have gotten if I hadn't had to pull out of the trip.
  13. ^ Maybe a Panther equivalent will form on this trip and then on some later TPR trip the twain shall meet. And awesomeness ensues.
  14. Not only do I wish I were there but I was so close yet so far to actually being there. Having to ask R&E for my deposit back for this trip may turn out to be one of the saddest moments of the 2000's for me...
  15. Nice pictures. I really hope to make my first trip to Kennywood this year. I've never been to a park like it and it would make a great first traditional amusement park visit.
  16. I'm blowin' it all over the place this year. So far: Coney Island--Astroland, Deno's--May 5th Busch Gardens--May 22nd Kings Dominion--May 30th Kings Dominion--May 31st Kings Dominion--June 8th Busch Gardens--July 3rd Busch Gardens--July 8th Only 4 new credits so far at 4 parks on 7 trips. New credits are: Cyclone Big Apple Sea Serpent Griffon Parks that I'm still trying to get to this year: Dorney, Knoebels, Hershey, KI, Carowinds, Dollywood, Geauga Lake, Great Adventure, Kennywood, and Cedar Point.
  17. ^ I definitely agree that Alpie's gotten a bit rougher and a bit moody. Definitely not as smooth as it once was. It is 10 years old! Nice pictures! Glad your friend has seen the error of his ways (with regards to taking his family to KD over BG)!
  18. Questions: Was this trip originally going to include an Italy leg? Am I misremembering something? Is "misremembering" even a word? Thanks for all the updates and pictures! As mentioned earlier this really makes me want to go on the mainland Euro trip next year.
  19. ^ I think late May is the official time set. With Led Zep due to be finished by December, I wonder if March and April might see a soft opening for some of the rides and attractions. Maybe I should put this in the rumor super thread.
  20. I think you don't try anything too risky with a first major attraction like this. It might knock your socks off as something innovative but it should suffice for a park in its infancy.
  21. Go stick a rusty knife up your a$$ and bleed to death. Absolutely not. Rusty knife would go into eyesockets in this context.
  22. So is Ed a girl or a...? Woo--really need to get on that Europe trip for next year. Good work people.
