I'm gonna go with SFMM. That was always the best part of the drive up north, staring out the window and looking for operating coasters

I always enjoy your Ski Trip PTR's. Thanks for posting!

Maybe this so-called pain existed later on in the rides life, I never experienced any of it. I always loved PP, but it did go downhill after the OTSRs were installed. The way the water fell off of the drop track was really intimidating, and you got DRENCHED. Also, there were these little slots in the boats that you could stick your feet into and they kept your shoes dry so it was great getting completely drenched and not having nasty shoes and socks And as others have mentioned, it had airtime. Being in SoCal, we take what we can get!

Coast Rider. At a park with a ride called Ghost Rider. In an area with so much cultural diversity that many visitors will have trouble distinguishing the difference between the two names. Brilliant, CF.

I was just at the parks and didn't even notice the lighting change on ToT. This says my brain thinks its either better or the same, which is fine. I mean really, if y'all wanna go out of your way to file a complaint form about the color of the tower, have at it. I prefer to spend my day enjoying the park and the atmosphere, not going 'OMG the tower is BLUE! COMPLAIN COMPLAIN COMPLAIN. That's like the epitome of fanboy even if you do it via comment card. I did, however, notice that the Shipwreck gag at Trader Sams is no longer sinking. I mean, I paid $11 for that drink and I wanted to see the ship sink! How dare them! The humanity! Where are the comment cards?!?!?!?!

I really only like watching Drag Race during the last 20 minutes...the judges are hilarious! I also think it's really great what she has done for gay entertainment. A show that allows ourselves as a culture to poke fun at ourselves while allowing and encouraging the straight world to do so as well really is genius and a vital step in making us 'just like everybody else.' Not that I want to be just like everybody else (and marriage...for real? Can you imagine the shadiness that comes with gay divorce?!), but it is nice knowing the kids growing up in today's urban world are more accepted than in generations past.

What was your first B&M Coaster?
WFChris replied to thrillseeker4552's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Instead of a list, I'll just say my first b&m of all types were those built at SFMM and in the order they were built. So my first one ever ever was Batman. -
Your first Arrow Dynamics coaster
WFChris replied to stashua123's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I want to say the Wacky Soap Box Racers at KBF, but it could very well be the Matterhorn. Maybe my parents know! -
Most Ghetto Park You Have Visited
WFChris replied to ViperLover's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Anybody remember Santa's Village in Skyforest, CA (near Lake Arrowhead)? It had a roller coaster, a monorail, and a bunch of other weird stuff. I was super young when I visited, but I knew something was off. So, that gets my vote. -
Worst Lift Hill View
WFChris replied to Coaster Curt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, what exactly constitutes a bad view? I keep seeing Scream! at SFMM pop up, but if that one's bad, so is Colossus and Goliath. And I mean, the parking lot is really the view down the first drop, not from the lift hill. I would say the beautiful California foothills are the real star on any lift hill at SFMM, including Scream!. As far as 'bad' views on lift hills in Southern California: -Gold Rusher's first lift is going toward an imposing and ugly midway. -The Matterhorn's lift is pitch black minus some minor themeing halfway up. A view of nothing sounds like a 'bad' view to me. And I mean, those two are a stretch. I wouldn't call any lift hill view out here bad...it's mainly sky, the rest of the ride, and distant mountains or city. Not trying to be a SFMM fanboy or anything, but I feel like Scream! is taking a little bit of a gratuitous hit here for no reason. -
Your First Schwarzkopf Coaster?
WFChris replied to SingleRiderCam's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Another picture of Revolution at SFMM... Rode it with lapbars only This was also my first loop. -
Now that the footers have been poured and we are seeing a better scale of the actual ride, it appears to me that they kept the footprint to YOLO as minimal as possible. This keeps me optimistic for the future, as there is still a very large, wooded, hilly area that could sustain another coaster. Pistachio Park station? Hmmm?

What's your closest coaster?
WFChris replied to FishyFish's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This. I guess the funny part is that I have never riden it. -
We have found that if you take the day at a more leisurely pace, making the FP window is not difficult. If you decide when the window comes up that you don't want to walk across the entire park, then you just don't ride the attraction that day. Remember, this is all designed to make the stay more pleasant for the visiting traveler, not the over-zealous 'I need to ride everything and wait in no lines' AP holder.

^I certainly simplified my explanation quite a bit, but in practice, most music on the air is being paid for by the labels. How stuff works explanation Anyway I'm not trying to be weird I was just suggesting a possibility as to why they are calling it a 'first.' It could definitely be SFMM being SFMM as well

2012-- What was your highlight?
WFChris replied to Chroniq's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My highlight was a ride on DCA ToT during the DL fireworks. We had no idea and it was just pretty cool ending up at the top of the tower with a full on fireworks display going on right in front of us! Couldn't help but 'feel the magic.'
