  1. I just hope the falling rocks return to the 3rd lift. Know'm sayin?
  2. OK, I may be going out on a limb here, but are there people here that DON'T think the Adventuredome is trashy? I think on it's own, its a cool little park, but unless they keep it perfect and in tip top shape, I see it having trouble attracting Angelinos. With all of our 'high end' parks here in So Cal, I don't think we find the place very interesting, and it's always completely dead when I visit. Perhaps it appears a little nicer to travelers from other parts of the country, but in my (and my friends) opinion, the place has always been kinda dumpy feeling and unfinished. I agree with others about taking the money for this weird pool oasis and using it to either vamp up the leaky dome, or put it towards imploding the rapidly aging property.
  3. DLR....it has the power to create those infamous 'fan boys.' I feel welcome and a part of something when I'm there. Can't really explain it other than it's comfortable to me. And it is nice being able to beeline it from Splash Mountain to Space Mountain in 10 minutes.
  4. ^ The wires are there to stabilize the towers because this is a temporary installment. A permanent version of this ride would have thicker towers and a more substantial base system, thus eliminating the need for wires. I have a feeling this is something that doesn't look as bad in person. Kinda like when you take a picture of the sunset that you think is all awesome, but then you look at the picture and all you can see are power lines and other city type things.
  5. Agree. Just keep the name Photopass, and have different packages you can purchase...just like it has always worked. I guess that's what I was trying to say before but couldn't spit it out. They also have Fastpass+ coming out too, all this "+" nonsense is really confusing. It makes me feel that no matter what I do, I'm either getting ripped off or not getting the full product.
  6. Indeed, that makes sense if it is all bundled together. I know how PhotoPass works and have used it in the past (usually during the holiday single picture discounts), it just sounded annoying that they are adding yet another way you would have to pay a bunch of money to properly document a vacation
  7. Uhh, looking at PhotoPass is free, if you actually want anything from it you have to pay. Thanks for not answering the question. Maybe I should rephrase. If I select the Unlimited PhotoPass option, would I have to pay the extra $44.95 to include the On-Ride photos? Considering the 'all photo' pass is nearly 100 dollars, it seems stingy to me to add another 50 bucks just for a few on-ride photos. I think making all of these different photo options will get confusing for travelers and make them shy away from it...I would like to have seen the system added to the already existing PhotoPass options, and just let you pay for it/download the on-ride photos at home if you like. Seems a lot less confusing.
  8. ^I REALLY hope they don't take out some of the roughness of the ride, slamming into the other rider is part of the fun! Unless of course they put a random single rider next to you then it's a little weird. As for the Attractions+ system, is this supposed to work WITH the Photopass? If I wanted to take home every official picture of me taken in the park, would I have to pay the $44.95 for attractions+ on top of any price I paid for PhotoPass? It's a clever way to make take-home photos hit the $100+ mark pretty easily if that's the case...
  9. Sounds more like they want to build something to compete with Mandalay Bay than to build an actual water park. I don't think all two of their slides plan on competing with the other two water park projects for the area.
  10. Guys, the ride is super short it won't take all that long to set up
  11. When I was a little kid, we waited over 3 hours for a brand new Psyclone at SFMM during spring break. I remember that the parent that brought us said 'ok one more ride' at some freakishly early hour, so I plopped us in the longest line in the park to prevent leaving. It started where Roaring Rapids queue block is. Good times! Would I wait 5 hours for anything today? Probably not.
  12. ^They also have White Water Rafting...hey....yolo!
  13. Those ride vehicles are pretty sweet.
  14. I would ride it if the price is right, but knowing SFMM it would probably be cheaper to ride it at the LA County Fair!
  15. I have a question, at the restaurants you seem to always have trouble figuring out what to order. Why not order both? As I understand it, this is one of the major perks of cruising! Were you on some kind of pay-per-meal plan or was food included? Perhaps you aren't aware that you can just order as many dishes as you want?
  16. Does the outdoor section on Test Track feel like the ride is 'giving it's all' more-so than RSR, which in my opinion feels a little held back?
  17. By the way, I just wanted to mention that I love the threads current sub-title: 'New carnival ride being set up' LOL!!!
  18. Well, I think we can all agree that a Maverick/Cheetah Hunt style terrain coaster would have fit the plot of land much more appropriately. It kills me that the park has this wonderful hillside that they don't use. I personally think Tatsu would have been a lot cooler if it was closer to the ground (ala Air). I'm excited for YOLO and I'm sure it will be a hit with the GP, but I have to agree that it seems like it hightails it to the tunnel, makes use of it, then rushes back to the station. That being said, it's hardly a one-trick pony. It's like the launching coaster variety pack. With a loop. And a camelback.
  19. Maybe in the sense that Gold Rusher could be YOLO's "GREAT Grandparent," but other than that I don't see a point in this comment at all.
  20. They should build a southwestern landscape around the outdoor section to give the feeling of driving on Route 66.
  21. I like the changes, the original Test Track always seemed too 'real life' to me, I like the fact that it is now futuristic and more fantasy-like...I guess more Disney is the way to put it!
  22. Enjoying the report, like always. Your descriptions allow us to take the cruise with you and I love all the weird personal information you include!
