2013 TPR Tour Questionnaire is out!
WFChris replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Have never done a TPR trip before, but I am READY to put a deposit down for Mexico. I have always been drawn to the TPR 'first of a kind' trips, and I can only imagine how fun exploring Mexico City would be with this group. Hopefully theres enough interest in this trip as it's the one I am seeing the least about! -
I was there last week and happy to see the vulture anamatronics before the final lift working...they haven't been operating all year. Also regarding those huge advice posts, another tip: Roger Rabbit & California Screamin' are not currently 'linked' to the system. What this means is you can pick up a Fastpass for either of those attractions within the waiting period of a previous Fastpass. Good to know if you are doing the rush-around thing.

The BEST roller coaster view EVER???
WFChris replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Until roller coasters are built in national parks...yes! I can't think of a more pleasant view on a coaster than that -
I have noticed the last few visits that the fastpass queue for the RSR ride is still a good 30 minutes long. Waiting a half hour for the FP and another half hour to ride doesn't make a lot of sense to me unless you really want to ride with your group. Single Rider is the best way to experience it with the least wait. I understand that this does not work for families, though

Retro Photo TR: Disneyland 1960 (HQ)

WOW, thanks for uploading! I was curious if you, or anybody, knows that the white track-like structure is in the background of the motorboat attraction photo? These are great pictures though, my first visit was in 1985 and I somewhat recall the open sides of the barrel bridge on Tom Sawyer Island...could have been Camp Snoopy though... -
Hahaha, yeaaaah. I will say you do get soaked, but Roaring Rapids is probably one of the lamest rapids rides in Southern California, you basically go in a circle and that's it. Knott's, DCA and Sea World all have better ones. I just want to go on the record and say that I like Roaring Rapids' natural surrounding and wider-than-average river. It feels more serene and can really mix up ride experiences going down different sides of the river.

I rode Green Lantern for my first time a few weeks ago. The flipping was minimal until the very end until we got what felt like 3 flips in, and we entered the station upside down. We didn't wait any more than 45 seconds or so until we were slowly flipped 90 degrees, then a brief break then the last 90 degrees. I don't believe there was a mechanic there or somebody flipping the car, but I could be wrong.

Does anybody know for sure which direction the train is going to be traveling through this element? -
Ever Been The Only One On A Ride?

I rode Colossus at SFMM by myself during WCB a few years back. I sat in the back row to observe the empty train. It was a peaceful, memorable experience; one of maybe 3 that I actually remember out of my countless rides on it. -
As an adult that visits with other adults to the Disneyland Resort, I have to say that many of us prefer going to DCA over DL (I realize I may be in the minority). Keep in mind that this opinion came with the years of walls up, so that has to say something. I have been slowly experiencing the improvements and seeing the park slowly come to life. Now that the park is complete, I feel like it's 'all grown up' and is truly a functional all day experience. I think part of what we like about the park is the lack of Disney Fan crazy people, as they have all found their niche at Disneyland. I see some of my future visits involving much less park-hopping than they have in the past; as I really think I can leave DCA now feeling the 'Disney Magic.' I also appreciate the fact that it is operating on a full schedule now, as we would often spend the day at DCA, and hop over to DL only because it was open for another 5 hours.

Congrats on your legal win. I would have felt personally insulted if I was in your position. Your park looks great! -
Secret Dangers of Amusement Parks?

For the record, Ghostrider seriously put me out of commission for a couple of days after my last ride. But anyway, besides the hydraulic fluid part, the article is fine. I especially enjoyed the TPR noodle filter. -
^It's the "steal" of a lifetime, marked down from $9.99 to $4.38. I mean, how could I NOT become a proud owner? There was another style of cholo bear as well, but it was a little more expensive hovering just over $6. ^^I was at the park monday and both sides were installed completely but they were doing trackwork all day, with cables hanging all over the place. No testing then...
