I don't even know where mine came from! It just sort of popped up in conversation about 4 years ago!

That's always a tricky situation. I know I was working a Troika one time - with a height requirement of 40 inches to ride, 54 to ride without an adult. This girl and her mom came in. The girl must have been about 13 - not old enough to be a chaperone. The mom was well below the 54 inch height requirement... So the girl was tall enough to ride without an adult - but the mother wasn't. I let them on anyway. 52 inches is already a pretty high height requirement. Di$ney has been having terrible luck lately.

Well at least you got to find out what "Irn Bru can do for you!" Two drinks I want to try are Irn Bru and Moxie. Anyhow - great photo TR! -
Everyone has already said it 10 pages worth - but that is outstanding! That definately would be one of the better attractions at the Disney Florida complex - if it were built.

^ What is Irn Bru like? Is it really the BEST drink in the world? -
That's great - but a little mean!

MFJZ HUGE PKI PTR!
TheKlockster replied to Millennium ForceJZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Vortex is not coming down - at least not this year. There is nothing wrong with the ride. I HIGHLY doubt that Cedar Fair will remove it - unless they need that land for some kind of ride that can out-thrill and out-capacity Vortex - which is highly unlikely. Vortex does very good capacity wise. And Vortex is NOT sinking. Beast has always had trims - but in like 2003 or 2004 - they replaced the skid brakes with magnetic brakes - because they never wear out - and always slow the train regardless of rain or shine. -

POVing on DZ is easy - but so scary. Think of the camera! Vortex does not have a trim brake on the first drop. Beast does... Vortex only has brakes on the C Block brake (before the corkscrew) safety brake (out by the Troika) and ready brake (right before the station) and in the station. Trust me on that... -
Allen Bradley 800T 2 Position (maintained) Red Illuminated Mushroom Pushbutton. This one used as an Emergency Stop on Vortex (PKI). It glows solid when out, and blinks when in.

I too have only been on two - Iron Dragon and Top Gun (PKI). I like them both - though Top Gun is more fun. I bet Vampire has to be awesome with those trains. My only question about them is that the seats look like the exact same thing as the Vekoma Suspended Junior Coaster aka Rugrat's Runaway Reptar. I couldn't imagine getting high amounts of G force in those. -
One word. OMGWTFBBQ

I have many monikers. My parents usually call me Adam though. I hate my name...

They have actually done alot to Beast. It is MUCH smoother than it was at the beginning of the year. Every time I ride it - theres new wood somewhere. I see you POV'D my ride... Don't you know I am the only person allowed to POV Vortex? When I worked there - I confiscated sooo many cameras. You can usually tell when someone is going to POV - before the train even leaves the station. I love pushing the "Lift - Push to Stop, Pull to Start" button. Oh well - I can't blame you though - Vortex is an AMAZING ride - and so easy to get away with POVing... I also have not ever seen the Vekoma sign on Face/Off. I don't believe it is in the drive box - as I have been in there numerous times and never seen it. It may be in that little lift shed. Good to hear you had fun. I get kind of bored with PKI since I go all the time - but I am glad people who don't go as often still enjoy it. -

I would start my own park - with a collection of rides so amazing it would instantly disband ACE. TPR members would get free admission. -

Great photos! I really like the Irn Bru Revolution one where you can see the whole ride! Kind of funny that everyone was looking forward to G Force - then the general consensus was that it sucked. -
Because some people are really pig-headed. They find out that their kid is gay and they think it must be some mental disorder that needs to be cured right away. They aren't willing to accept them for who they are. It is like someone said earlier about being sent to Baseball camp - their parents are forcing them to keep working on their baseball - not considering - maybe the kid doesn't like baseball. And yeah there have been "success" stories. There was one woman who used to be lesbian, and now is straight - and enjoys it - and says the program saved her life. It was in that article about that kid who got sent to the camp, who wrote about it in his blog. But there have also been alot of non-successes - from the camp's point of view.

I think it can be a choice with some people - and with other people it isn't. What sets up your gender identity and sexual orientation is a combination of biological, psychological and environmental factors. You can't just say there is male and female - and that heterosexuality is default. Feminine females that like men Feminine females that like women Feminine females that like both Feminine females that like neither Masculine females that like men Masculine females that like women Masculine females that like both Masculine females that like neither Masculine men that like women Masculine men that like men Masculine men that like both Masculine men that like neither Feminine men that like women Feminine men that like men Feminine men that like both Feminine men that like neither That is 16 different combinations right there - and that is only factoring in gender identity and sexual orientation. There are a plethora of other factors to keep in mind - as well as even more ways those factors can play with each other. I believe I read somewhere that gender identity mostly comes from a chemical process that occurs as a developing pre-birth baby. It is then developed through enviromental influences. So anyways - I know I am long winded - I am just saying that while homosexuality for some people may be a choice - for many people, it is not.

What is your local park?
TheKlockster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Coney Island Ohio is 7 miles away from where I live - but I mostly go to Kings Island (so long Paramount) which is 26 miles away. -
Yeah - this has been a great discussion!
