Storyland and Heritage NH Photo TR
TheKlockster replied to Canobie Fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice TR. I like the cockshot! I got one up at CP but forgot to put it in my TR. That coaster looks INTENSE. -
He also has some cool POV of water slides at Holiday World. I think he just put it in a bag for that.

Cedar Point has a bunch of pins. I am going to buy more next time I go up. This time I just bought 1 - a Raptor Pin. I would have bought more - but I was saving the rest of my souvenir money for a shirt - which I then ended up running out of time and forgetting to buy. I wanted to put the pin on my bag I take to parks - NOT A FANNY PACK - but its got a little Cedar Point thing that dangles below the pin, and I am afraid it will break off. Ironically - I can only find one pin at all the stores at my home park - PKI - and it says Top Gun: The Jet Coaster - which isn't even a ride at PKI!

What kind of Computer do you have?
TheKlockster replied to MiamiBoii4392's topic in Random, Random, Random
I have three computers - all Mac. My best is the Mac Mini 1.33. -
I for one am pretty excited about Eejanaika as it is the first non-Arrow Arrow to ever be built. I hope that S&S starts making even more Arrow type coasters!

Kings Island cancels Winterfest
TheKlockster replied to disneygurlz2s's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I figured that they would cancel it. Personally I can't believe they were thinking about bringing it back. They ate a HUGE loss on it in 2005. Enough of a loss they could have payed about 1/3 the cost of building The Voyage... -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
TheKlockster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No - I don't mean a building - I mean the supports. There are like mass footers all in a bunch of rows clustered together toward the left - with supports decending toward them. I figured it might be a end brake run and station platform after it is built. Right now its just footers though. -
Photo TR: Cedar Point 7/22/2006
TheKlockster replied to TheKlockster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They have like little peep holes drilled in the wall around the construction site - like there's certain areas they want you to see. I looked through one and believe I see the footers and supports for the station and transfer track. It is on that construction photo I posted above. -
My First Photo TR: Cedar Point

Nice Photo TR! I see we agree about the best seat on Raptor! I didn't even know they had Cabins. I learn something new every day! -

I saw that thing banner on Mean Streak too. I like Mean streak but found that a little hard to believe. Here is a pic I took the other day of some vertical construction - through one of the peep holes that have been drilled in the fence. So apparently this is one of the views Cedar Point WANTS you to see. Could that be the station in the right? -
Well I headed up to Cedar Point with my boss from work - and some people from his church group. The park was really crowded - but I still had alot of fun. I got one new-to-me coaster: Mantis. It was MUCH better than Chang. I only rode it once - but I would definately ride it again - unlike Chang. Got on Magnum right after some downtime - so I didn't have to wait long for it. Magnum is still an awesome ride! Waited 1.25 hours for an awesome ride in the back seat of Raptor. Then I got two rides on Gemini. That is about all I got to ride - cause of the crowds - but I still had a fantastic time. The weather was great - and it was just alot of fun in general. I can't wait to go back! Cedar Point - 30 mile! Group Discount! Mantis - my number 39 - and great ride! Lake Erie took a dump on the park. maXair was sooo much better than Delirium! 1.25 hour line for Raptor - but well worth the wait! I know - I'm a dork. New for 2007 The speed roll is my favorite inversion! Iron Dragon got evacuated. Goodbye Cedar Point! Thanks for a GREAT day - and I can't wait to return. BEST PARK EVER!

A New B&M At A New Park
TheKlockster replied to Jack57's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
All B&M track and supports for the US and parts of Asia is fabricated at Clermont Steel Fabricators (formerly Southern Ohio Fabricators COmpany - SOFCO) - located in Batavia, Ohio - about 10 minutes from where I live. They also fabricate stuff for high rise buildings - such as the structural steel for the latest University of Cincinnati rennovations. They also fabricated all the supports for Vortex at PKI. -

A New B&M At A New Park
TheKlockster replied to Jack57's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Like Patriot - I am the first person to ever photograph this roller coaster! This was back before I got my digital camera - so I video taped it then captured stills from the video - so that's why the quality is so poor. Don't believe me? Check out the RCDB link for yourself! Photos on RCDB -

Yeah I have hit my face on the lap bar before. It is real goofy. I have noticed that Son of Beast has been getting progressively rougher this year - but never noticed anything bad at that part of the ride. -

TheKlockster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Exactly. And I am sure they will have no qualms about removing Son of Beast. If they remove the rides planned on being removed for 07 under Paramount management - and remove Son of Beast - lines will be horrendous at Kings Island... Would you wait over 3 hours for Face/Off? Over 1 hour for Vortex? And this is normal day crowds... -

TheKlockster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I saw that myself. I guess the Sling Shot is like the new clay pigeon ride. A couple people get on, they get launched, and then someone on the ground shoots at them. Anyways - this could mean huge trouble for Kings Island. Another result might be prolonged time before we get anything new. Cedar Fair could remove Son of Beast - and the rides Paramount was planning on removing - AND not give us anything new for 10 years... I mean most of what the park makes this year is probably going to go to settlements past and present - cause of SOB. -

TheKlockster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Cincinnati Enquirer posted an article. Apparently someone broke their chest bone - and people came back into the station with blood coming out of their mouths. Cincinnati Enquirer Article Man - I would hate to see Son of Beast removed. But to Cedar Fair it's just alot of money in maintenence and settlements - and since its not Cedar Point - they aren't going to care about taking out a coaster. -

At least this year... Apparently what happened to the ride was big. The details are still really sketchy though. Update. The ride DID indeed finish the course. Something making a loud noise heard by witnesses around Action Zone - caused riders to experience discomfort upon returning to the station. Dayton Daily News -

Yeah they just did a 100% retracking and added about 20 feet's worth of width to the supports... I hope it reopens - but there is the possibility that it may not.
