  1. Was browsing the MSN homepage and came upon this wonderful story!! http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/32108518/?gt1=43001
  2. Many moons ago on the old TV show "That's Incredible", a guy strapped his snow skis to the 1st undercarriage of the train on the Revolution at Libertyland I believe. Not quite sure, but it had to be late 70's early 80's..
  3. I have only been on the Vekoma flyers, and I did not feel at all comfortable or secure in them, not had the pleasure of a B & M flyer yet. Arrow's aren't that bad if you know when to brace yourself for the sudden transitions. But the best by far are the classic Schwarzkopf single lap bars like sooperdooperLooper and the shuttles!
  4. The top pic shows what I would assume to be the bottom of the lift. It appears to be bent a roughly a 45 degree angle. it contains what one would assume to be a section to hook a ladder/staircase to. The middle pic shows what I presume to be the top of the lift, also containing those same ladder/staircase thingys. I highly doubt that would be associated with a vertical lift. The bottom pic which shows Farenheit's lift, that as stated earlier contains the spiral staircase to the inside. I just don't see this being a vertical lift.
  5. There is one of the markets right at the top of the hill behind the parking lots, just up the street on the right hand side from the McDonalds. Parking can be free if you don't mind the extra little walk across the lot to get to the gate, but I believe the "preferred" parking is only about 5 bucks anyway. Skip the UFO ride, it is dumb: and make sure to hit the Screamin' Swing, that thing is awesome!!!
  6. Picture # 16 of 20 on the link above shows what looks like the apex of the lift. If it were to be vertical, wouldn't the ladder supports down the side be angled a lot less to make that accessible for inspections and evacs?? I sure as hell wouldn't want to climb straight up a ladder that was 300+ feet off the ground.
  7. I didn't think Chicago had those kind of mountains in the background??
  8. It's powered, kinda like a monorail.....
  9. It's hard to believe that this carnyghettoasspark actually used to have the old King Kobra from KD!!!!
  10. If you were standing looking towards the Festhaus, the Glissade I believe was to the right.
  11. It's been my understanding that they open the "lands" in a timely manner, not all at once, so that kinda eliminates the need to "run" to whichever ride you want to hit first. Loch Ness is the first coaster you come to when you go up the hill into the park. As far as food, there are a lot of places depending on what kind of food you are looking for. The Festhaus is a really good place with lots of good fare plus you get a really cool show. I've never really had a problem with the lines as they really know how to move people through. The only problem I have with the park is the amount of walking to get from one place to the other. The train is great as it has 3 stops to get you from here to there as does the sky ride. Hope this helps some and enjoy your trip!
  12. LMAO, no doubt the Carny Zipper has got to be the scariest ride out there!
  13. There have been quite a few discussions on this in a variety of TR's over the last few days. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on it. Search for the PTR's and see what the people had to say, I was quite surprised at all the varying thoughts on the ride. I actually like it, but have not ridden in 2 years......
  14. They are "spilling the beans" ? OMG TACO BELL The Ride!!! LMAO
  15. Is it just me or do the pics on RCDB look like those HO scale model railroad carnie rides?
  16. I am still working on an answer, but I find it funny that there are 2 men with what appear to be cameras on the inside of the fence while the ride is in motion!!!
  17. I've ridden Steel Force quite a few times and always had good air, especially in the back on the first drop. Also, call me weird, but I kinda would rather have had a retracked Hercules opposed to that crap they call Hydra. Never seen much in it???
  18. Hershey it is from a long time ago! Credit goes to HPSlappy.....
  19. OMG 13 pages in less than 24 hours!!! LMAO this better be a kick ass ride!! There is no chance that maybe they just threw the giga label on the packages to throw everyone off as kind of a joke?? (I am now ducking so nobody shoots me!!) Anyway, will be kind of interesting to see the planned layout and whether it will interact with any of the existing coasters back in the corner. They could do dueling underwater tunnels, 1st time ever done LOL!
  20. 45 minutes or so of looking through every rcdb listing for Japan until I came across parks with more than 1 coaster !!! Nice entertainment for a night LMAO...here goes, mine are always pretty easy. I will credit the pic after it is guessed so as not to help anyone or piss anyone off.
  21. This is gonna be one long thread come this season LMAO.
  22. Height requirements for the rides at Lakemont Park are as follows. You MUST be a Minimum of 48” tall unless with a parent or guardian to ride * Bumper Cars * Ferris Wheel * Monster * Octopus * Scrambler * Skyliner * Tilt A Whirl * Toboggan * Twister Just pulled this off of their website. I thought I seen a height stick that read "unless accompanied by parent" , so apparently if mom and dad wanna put junior on the coaster, have at it!!! There is only an old fashioned lap bar that comes down, no kind of belt or anything else!!!!!
