Someone correct me if I am wrong, but when they first "re-opened" the ride a few years back it was $2.50 a ride. They just started the free rides not that long ago. I really hope they collect alot of money because I swear that ride is about to fall down every time we go around!! Maybe they can get some new padding for the seats to make the "dips" a little less painful an the rear and back. All in all, you can't beat the price for the park and the 2.50 is just a drop in the bucket for a trip down memory lane.....

Coaster Shows on TV
eddie200330 replied to kenshinmac's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It seems like they only show the old reruns anymore and any newer specials are mainly geared towards the waterparks. As stated above, it gets really old listening to know it alls spouting out the stats while riding the coasters, albeit you get a good laugh out of it. -

Yeah that is the old Land of the Dooz/Smurf Mountain ride. This was the end where you pulled back into the station. I know I have said it numerous times through these vast pages of TPR, but damn I wish they would've thought twice about Volcano and left the original attractions in the mountain. That was one of the best flumes around and you can't go wrong with a themed Rotor!!! -

That has been thoughts since the day they announced the ride and the location. I can't imagine the log jam of people in this area unless the queue is situated somewhere far away from the tunnel entrance/exit. -

Definitely agree about Kennywood, we try to go there every summer at least once. It is a place you can just wander around and kinda lose yourself in the history. At the same time get your rocks off on some of the coolest modern and old school rides that are a rarity these days. -

Isn't Hershey doing STITP again this weekend? That along with everybody rushing to KD for I305, SFA might not be all that bad.... -

Just some total random thought that popped into my head.......building this beside Anaconda is like parking your Hummer next to a Chevette at Wal Mart LMAO!!!!! It totally dwarfs it! Also, the second hill size in comparison to Rebel Yell's turnaround!! Thank cfc for the image -

I really would like to believe that the crowd issue is just due to the fact that the weather is so nice and the price so low. I mean this area of the country has been under snow forever like never before and people need to get out and do something. Along comes STITP and it is cheap(let's visit now since almost everything is open anyway) instead of summer when it costs more for just about the same rides and attractions. It is pushing 80 out this weekend so weather is definitely cooperating, and a majority of the employees are probably new so they are just learning. I have been there many times during the summer months and have never really had a bad experience with waits or crowds, so I would just blame it on everything coming together, like a perfect storm, as I stated above. -

I would have to say that next to coasters, flumes are my favorite rides at the parks. Dorney has an awesome one, even though a little short. That long drop down the hill at the end gets pretty fast and causes quite a splash!! WWL may have used the water from Lake Erie, but it was clean and did not stink so it wasn't bad by any means, and it was quite an exhillerating ride.... -

Nice, does anyone know yet what the weather forecast is for saturday, april 3rd? I'm crossing my fingers that we don't get rained out. According to weatherbug, Friday - Monday : Mostly clear, lows in the mid 40's highs in the 80's. -

Just don't try to sprint past security, I have seen them pull people and make them wait until everyone else goes by. They "walk" everyone to the back of the park usually for Volcano, so I see this as being no different. -

Was there this much bickering when CF put in TTD and gave it all of that race theming it has?? Northern Ohio is not really associated with drag racing is it? But Charlotte is known as the Capital of NASCAR, great theme work I think, and maybe it only lasts a few years, most of these 'over themed" rides usually get changed after a few seasons anyhow. -

The decals are definitely a nice touch, adds to the theme for sure. Is there anything on the "hood" of the car/train ? Would be nice to see the GM Goodwrench logo..... -

While Cedars was no Ritz Carlton by any means, the convenience was amazing, except for the fact the our room was directly across the road from the Wildcat. Gotta love morning testing LMAO!! The only downfall to it was lack of cooking abilities. -

I would imagine with the nice weather we are having around here they should be able to really get moving on the construction. Memorial day is still more than 2 months away and a lot can be accomplished in that amount of time. Look how quick the Intimidators went up and how much bigger they are than this. I can possibly see a memorial day opening if there are no glitches along the way. -

I worked there back in the summer of 93 and it was truly an experience to remember. Once or twice a week they did employee nights where they would open a ride for an hour or have some entertainment after the park closed. Met many interesting people and my only regret is not waiting until the next summer when they opened Raptor!!!!! All I got was Snake River, at least I got to ride the old log flume before the ripped it out to make way for Raptor.... Good luck and most of all enjoy yourself! -

According to Wikipedia.... "The house and grounds at which Richie Rich is filmed are those of the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. The roller coaster in the back yard is the Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America." -

top 10 coasters poll
eddie200330 replied to Brandon4579's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Holy Crap, Busch Gardens has 3 coasters on that list and they need some serious help to make it up the polls LMAO!!!!! -
I wonder if by "fully functional" they are working models? The 2 coasters and the log flume would be neat to have as long as they were gravity powered and not pulled around by some kind of conveyor system. I have been fascinated with these model carnival rides ever since I was a little kid. They are kinda pricey but would be well worth it.
