  1. This is the 2nd TR I have seen of this place this week. The one thing that sticks out in my mind, which I noticed in your video, and a photo in the other TR, was the water falling from around the YO YO. It's little touches like this that make a park awesome. One of these days I will make it out that way and check this joint out. Also I youtubed a POV of Steel Hawg and I will admit I never thought it would appeal to me. After seeing the video a few times it looks like quite a fun little ride, something more "smaller" parks should look into.
  2. ^Actually I was just kidding about the speed increase, I believe pretty much with MF that all the trains are full and there is always a breeze blowing at CP, so wouldn't all of that just make no sense anyway?
  3. I've never really comprehended these statements about a steel coaster, or wood for that matter. Do they raise the height of the drop throughout the day? LMAO Just kidding, I think that the darkness enhances the speed factor as you have trouble adjusting your eyes to the surroundings. I really don't think rides actually pick up speed throughout the day, maybe different temps have a slight affect throughout a season.......
  4. Here are some reruns for those of us who missed it http://www.travelchannel.com/Schedule#&series=TBTC
  5. I don't know, Hersheypark is an all around better ride park than BG IMO. BG is so spread out and although it is a really "nice" park, I find that HP has the better assortment of coasters/rides. It has an overall more"amusement parky" feel to it and at the end of the day it seems to be a really satisfying experience.......
  6. Here is a link to their online store, it might give you some ideas of what you want and what it costs..... http://www.cfmarketplaces.com/stores/stores/1/index.aspx
  7. I have skied this mountain many a time but have yet to get up there and check out the Alpine Coaster. To anyone who has, is it worth it. I know I should just go, it is only 30 minutes from my house! Also, it is open year round!!! We get some pretty harsh winters up this way, especially up at the lake.....
  8. It will not be open for Coaster Con. So the 25th puts it open in time for CoasterCon then correct???
  9. I wouldn't be afraid to bet that in a few weeks 1 outta 3 people who are some kind of enthusiast/club/online group related member will either buy one at the park or order online because of the joke of it!!! CF found another way to make some money LMAO!!!! BTW, I think they are pretty cool myself just for the inside humor of it all....
  10. More like HOLY SH*T!!!!! I think this thing looks awesome and it fits KW very nicely, although the trains do look a little too odd for my taste, but I will let time and a ride on them be the judge......
  11. At KD last year there wasn't any early entry from staying on site as far as I could tell. The only perk is the free shuttle to and from the park.
  12. Of course it is not gonna have long lines when there are so many other coasters there. I really hope it doesn't go anywhere because that is one of few classic rides left around anywhere that is equally enjoyable. That is where I cut the teeth of my niece and nephew at a very young age on coasters due to the lower than average height requirement it carried. With its location and topography of the area there really isn't anything off the top of my head that could feasibly take it's place along the lines of a "big" thrill ride. Didn't they have issues with Great Bear as far as why the supports are built like they are because of the creek? I really don't see anything else getting "oddball" supports for the sake of cramming a huge coaster down in Comet Hollow.
  13. As far as football goes, most teams usually only have 8 or so home games a year, excluding playoffs and preseason. How much of an issue would this really cause for the park. Six Flags America kinda has to deal with the Ravens and Redskins both within a 1 hour drive of the park albeit that is pretty close to the end of the season anyhow, and they seem to do just fine.
  14. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/files/img_1747.jpg OMG!! Is that Ted Nugent in the second row? LMAO http://www.matadorrecords.com/matablog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/ted_nugent-300x300.jpg There is a strong resemblance .......
  15. Most drop towers, with the exception of the Intamin Gyro drop's, don't bother me. I cannot imagine swinging around at the same height as Drop Zone! Especially in that video when the 2 guys in front of the cameraman start turning like you do on a wave swinger. I would probably do it once for the sake of doing it, but I really don't think I would enjoy it too much.
  16. What roller coasters do you keep in storage in 3 different country's? Are they used......
  17. Here is a link to a wikipedia story. About halfway down it goes into a list of rides and there is some, albeit little, info about the caterpillar. Hope this helps.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canobie_Lake_Park
  18. According to "The Rebel Yell" newsletter it is scheduled for June 19. http://www.acemidatlantic.org/pdfs/rebelyellspring2010.pdf And ACE's website has the same date.... http://www.aceonline.org/events/
  19. Maybe we could get Stephen King to write a script and AC/DC to record a soundtrack and have a blockbuster movie made of this.......Oh Sh*t, that story has already been played! I for one am willing to bet that either 79 -85 - or 90 + mph, this thing is still a sweet ride. To the GP, they see 300 feet and think OMFG!! We as enthusiasts think, "You Bastards!!!! You Killed Trimmy!!! LMAO. And no, I have not rode it yet, hope to get it in here soon though..
  20. Cool, we go here every year and it would be nice to see some upgrades to this place. I honestly don't know how they stay in business in the first place, but they really need to update their ride catalog a little. Hope this is a step in that direction!!
  21. Glad to finally see this thing getting some nice reviews instead of all the hate bashing. A wise man once said to never jump to conclusions!!! Hopefully this all works out for the best........
  22. I would like to have been in that line right behind them. There would've been 3 teens taught a pretty good life lesson. It amazes me that for such a family friendly place, no one else around really did anything to help the little boy! On a side note I hope to be getting the kiidies up there this coming Sunday with a wonderful internet "coopun" they sent me via the Kennywood newsletter I subscribe to!! SWEET
