  1. WOW, that first video makes it look like it is hauling some serious booty!!!
  2. ^ That was pretty freakin retarded......
  3. Kings Dominion in VA does have an onsite hotel and they will transport you via van from 2 other hotels out from the backside of the parking lot across Route 30.
  4. Those new trains look good, just one thing though, how will that little "hump" in the front of the seat feel to your inner thighs when bouncing around on a wooden coaster? I know on the older PTC divided bench seats the divider can be killer on a somewhat rough coaster. These trains look to be somewhat form fitting so I can only imagine there being some kind of discomfort to come out of them.
  5. They have been working on the link to Uniontown for the past few years and are nearing completeion. I'm guessing after that section is finished they will focus more on the Pittsburgh metro area. Yes, work (and funding) has been slow, but it hasn't stopped. My travel route to Kennywood takes me on route 51 from Uniontown through Perryopolis - Elizabeth and up the river on Route 837. Where is this new road supposed to "drop" me off if and when it gets finished? I kinda like the scenic route up that way, but a faster road would definitely be appreciated!! Also, I am one of those people who like Kennywood for what it is and to see them remove the older rides for newer ones is kinda disheartening. I always liked the Rotor, (removed to make room for nothing), and the Flying Carpet, (removed to make room for Cosmic Chaos which I thought was really dumb). They have plenty of space to add newer flats, but coasters will have to be strategically designed to fit or else go Magic Mountain style and do the parking lot coaster!!!
  6. That is why they moved it from after the Super Bowl to the week before. They are trying to get some kind of interest in it. BTW, Ben Rothlisberger (not even close) pulled himself today because of his bum shoulder. I don't get the nominations and votes if the SB teams are exempt anyway. It is all just plain stupid to me!
  7. It does have the KY (LMAO) abbreviation on the side along with what appears to be Local Ironworkers signed on it.
  8. So S:ROS is longer......that is because of the 2 half mile(sarcasm intended) long helices connected by straightaways with a hump???? I305 at least changes direction at what seems to me will be a hellacious speed so that is definitely a plus. Length as said before doesn't necessarily matter to the ride experience. The shorter rides of today can be attributed to the launch which probably reduces track length by almost 1000' when you factor in the lift and first drop. I for 1 still prefer the old fashioned drop opposed to the launch which I305 looks like it is going to deliver in that department! As far as KD's lines, as long as I can remember back they were always long. When Shockwave opened we were there and waited over 4 hours to ride it! I have found that early spring and late fall Sundays are the best time to go as people seem to have other stuff to do.
  9. Airtime is going to be alright, but the only thing I am really interested in feeling is the positive g's rounding that first corner!!!! It's gotta feel like you are going to go right through the track and shoot out through the back of the park. Hold on tight Ma, we're in for a doozie!!! LMAO
  10. How funny would that be, all of the repro's of the original Cyclone would be gone long before their granddaddy in Coney Island!!! Maybe it thinks it's the shit and has cursed all the copycats LMAO!!!
  11. Why so much hate for Shockwave? I love that ride. It is so much more fun that B&M, and I love the airtime the backseat(coach) gives! Definitely would have to go with both Hurlers as they both gave about the same kind of nauseating headache when they were over.
  12. I can't help but to think that the very small loop and that weird tight turn into the upside down reverse point look to be neck strain inducing terror. Other than that it looks pretty cool, except for a front seat ride going into the reverse point, it comes very close to that end bumper!!
  13. I have heard of this in the past during summer hours also. I really wish all the parks would initiate some kind of policy like this. I know it would suck for the people traveling long distances to go there, but in the end the park experience might be a lot better as it would cut down on crowds and wait times. CP comes to mind in this category as almost all major rides on summer days have outlandish wait times that exceed 1 hour. With kids and the like, this can lead to a very long day of whining and moaning about all the standing around and such.

  15. As much as I don't like the Steelers, that was a very eventful final 4 minutes of the game.
  16. I wouldn't call it boring. It wasn't as slam you around fun like Magnum, but it was IMO a very enjoyable ride, especially in the back seat. It had that awesome pull you up out of your seat first drop which I really like.
  17. I couldn't agree more after 2 days of digging out!!!! But it is amazing to see them back to work so soon.
  18. It looks like some kind of lighting fixture???
  19. I myself can't afford the higher end cable packages so therefore I do not get the NFLN ( damn those communist bastards LOL) so I do not get to see what will likely be the highlight game of the weekend. Add to that the fact I am snowed in with almost 1.5 feet of snow and I am very upset. I can watch the little animated game on the NFL.com site, but to show what would be the most watched game on your own "PPV" type channel is just asinine!!! How long till the Superbowl winds up on the NFLN and then everyone who wants to see it is forced to fork over the money for the network package to their already padded pockets!!!! Thank you for letting me vent, it has been a long day! BTW, did I say how much I hate snow ! LMAO
  20. Why would anyone think there were "freaks" running around here?? Apparently they checked out TPR before they posted their comments on the wedding photos!!! LMAO just kidding, it goes to show what is wrong with all the narrow minded simpletons running around this world nowadays!
  21. Real nice, as if I have not seen enough snow!!! LMAO, we are sitting here with a foot on the ground already and it is still coming down!!! HOHOHO, white Christmas my ass! I do like to see the snow covered parks and rides though.
  22. You mean the line that never existed? On pretty much all of my visits we would wait a good 45 minutes to ride. I never seen or been in a line that long on any visit to Dorney. Now mind you I have not been to CP in 5 years, needed a break after yearly visits and employment there, so maybe in the last few years it was shorter.
  23. I am still amazed at how much taller this ride is compared to Rebel Yell and Anaconda. BTW, nice pic of the Volcano launch. Ahhhh Togo stand up trains!! I would love to have one of them sitting in my backyard!
  24. Albeit shorter than the S & S tower, Demon Drop just has more of that nerve racking sensation when it lets loose. I always found it to be the better of the 2 "freefall" rides at CP. It has the grated floor which lets you see down the entire time, and that ride up the shaft is almost as scary as the drop down. Definitely a good addition for Dorney as the line should be nowhere near as long as when it was at CP.
  25. I wonder how the older B & M hypers would fare with the new style of train they are using now. Would that make Apollo and Raging Bull better or worse??
