  1. ^ The island isn't that big to begin with, so no, not really. It's pretty filled up.
  2. Looks: Dueling Dragons Feel: Any B&M Hyper train...the seats are like recliners.
  3. Finally got to ride Diamondback. This is nothing more than your average, run of the mill B&M Hyper, in my opinion. I like Nitro a lot better. I also prefer the 4-across seating. I did notice a slight shake at the bottom of a couple hills. Makes you wonder if a trim or two will be added in the off season. Speaking of which, I noticed that the trim was on EXTREMELY hard. It was almost a bit annoying. I'd rather have 2 or 3 trims on a little bit than just 1 that causes you to jerk forward.
  4. Kings Island on Monday, the 27th, and hopefully Holiday World on Tuesday the 28th (if it doesn't rain). I just want to ride Voyage a couple times, then it can rain all it wants.
  5. ^ Pretty sure it was a joke.
  6. Yeah I agree. Not to mention that I went to SFGAdv in June of 2008 (went to the park 3 days in total) and had ZERO problems with line jumpers and didn't see a single one the whole time. There were TONS of school groups there too, mind you.
  7. Yes, I did this in May (stayed at the Royal Pacific) and I HIGHLY recommend it!
  8. I'd choose Universal...beats CP by miles, in my opinion, but that's just me.
  9. Nah, I'd rather have something brand new, and also something unique. I don't really have anywhere to ride a dirt bike, like trails and such, whereas I can ride a pocket bike on my flat property. Pocket bikes are perfect for flat ground because most of them have no shocks.
  10. Nitro is AWESOME towards the back. I found El Toro to be more enjoyable in the very front seat than the very back seat, but that's just me. Don't get me wrong, ALL SEATS are still amazing, but the front's a tad better, in my opinion.
  11. Right now I'm also looking into Super Pocket bikes...they're pretty cool. X2 pocket bike.
  12. ^ That's an awesome guide! I'm planning on going to HW a week from today and that helps a LOT! Thanks! I'm hoping the weather holds up. *knocks on wood*
  13. Anyone have a pocket bike? Are they worth it, or do they get boring easily? I was thinking of buying one (a Cagllari, pictured below) just to fool around on...nothing expensive, just the lowest end model. Also, where's the best place to buy one? I've been looking around at some online vendors, but I don't know if they're trustworthy. Are there any actual stores that sell them?
  14. It's a platform that is only big enough for one row at a time, and can be moved up and down the lift accordingly. Watch this video and from 0:04-0:08 you can easily see the platform sitting at the bottom of the lift.
  15. My entry is number 51...Aftershock at Silverwood.
  16. My guess is that it's similar to a B&M invert. A platform is positioned uder the row, the seats are manually lowered, the restraints manually released, then the riders get off and walk down the stairs.
  17. According to someone on KP Connection, they haven't made it yet and it's going to be made later at the ACE dinner. Someone else on that site also said to not expect it to be that big of an announcement. UPDATE: Again, according to someone on KP Connection, apparently ACE was the one making an announcement, not Kennywood, and a Kennywood employee (I'm assuming) was quoted saying this, "the flyer didn't say that Kennywood was making an announcement." The announcement by ACE was that they made Mary Lou Rosemeyer an honorary ACE member.
  18. Awesome! I'm going to Kings Island a week from tomorrow! Can't wait!
  19. I still disagree. If it didn't save a significant amount of steel, or even money in general, then why go to all the trouble to develop a completely new track style, when you could instead just stick with one you know works and has worked for years? I don't believe that there is as much metal used for the double spine or truss, as it would have taken to create supports for those sections for normal track without extra spine.
  20. Yeah I know, but I mean they could get more creative and have more to work with. Even so, though, with this new track style, less supports aren't just implicated on the lift. Less supports are required in the entire layout, so all in all, in theory they actually can achieve that desired layout without running out of space and/or spending too much money, as I already said. I also like the idea that this new design doesn't put 300 feet coasters out of the question anymore for smaller parks with less land, space, and money.
  21. A vertical lift on a coaster with such a great magnitude actually makes tons of sense if you think about it. It is an extreme space saver and allows for perhaps a longer layout. People have said that so much more could have been done with MF, but they have to realize that it already cost $25 million. Maybe with a vertical lift, parks can actually achieve that desired layout without running out of space and/or spending too much money.
  22. Dave and Buster's and Kennywood aren't close to downtown, your dad need not worry. Here is a link to Mapquest directions from Kennywood to D&B...they are roughly three and a half miles away from each other. Kennywood is "A" and D&B is "B." Here you can see how close they are to one another. Here you can see their location in relation to downtown. Downtown is where the rivers meet and where it says "Pittsburgh."
  23. Their new ride "Mega Vortex" is pretty fun, but it's just a normal Disk-O. Yes, buy the POP, the tickets aren't all that cheap, so you'll get you moneys worth in like 4 rides. As said, the other must-dos are X-Scream and Steel Dragon.
  24. ^ Avoid all fall fantasy days iff possible. Those are some of the worst days of the whole season, crowd-wise.
