  1. The Mack guy from Rob's IAAPA interview said it was going to be 42 inches.
  2. What happened to the 42 inch height restrictions?
  3. Supposedly they built the fence to close to the ride, so they had to move it out a couple of meters so nobody would be hit by the ride. How they made that mistake is beyond my understanding..
  4. I always loved the look of that Euro-fighter. Is it as good as those models?
  5. Those brown supports actually looks a lot more like they belong to the Mack super splash ride that is going in to this park, rather than the wing rider.
  6. I really love that they are testing this thing without dummies, imagine with 8 people in them, it's gonna haul ass through that track!
  7. As do I, but that is impossible with 4 across seating, as they are not wide enough between the seats.
  8. Because the coaster will be part of a brad new theme park area, in a water park, that also needs to be finished before it can open.
  9. Insane and Twister, for sure. Howcome nobody has mentioned the S&S El Loco's yet? They look to be really awsome, for the footprint they use! Also, Zamperla's motocoasters seems to be delivering a pretty fun ride, for a wild mouse footprint.
  10. Always thought this ride looked awesome, glad to see that it will deliver!
  11. No, maintenance costs are probably as high already, much more the possibility of blackouts are what stopped them from making it more insane. I actually don't think it would be comfortable having it run any faster.
  12. No, just no. It seems like a regular B&M hyper.
  13. There are a few new pics over at coasterforce This thing looks to be a sure hit, to bad it is so very far away from everything!
  14. On the DiVertical blog on Mirabilandia's website they sad this( translated with google): April 29, 2012 is a date to mark in the annals of the history of Wonderland, is the date of the first official tour of Divertical. The first boat was in fact "launched" at a reduced speed for the first full test of the track. Everything succeeded perfectly as planned. The inauguration of Divertical is every day more ...
  15. From watching the POV this looks a lot more intense than your average family coasters, can't wait for more Zierer coaster to pop up around the world!
  16. The brake run is tire driven, so it will most likely be able to launch the boats out at higher speeds than showed in that video. As for the first half, it looks pretty fun, it will be going faster with actual people/dummies in the boats. Still thinks this is a great addition to a park with no major family coasters!
  17. So, opening weekend on Gröna Lund was awesome as always!! Major bummer tough, Jetline was closed all day long. They have invested over a million dollar in the ride during the off season. The whole signal systems are swapped out for a new one, and it also looked like it has new track on the final brakes, until the station. This is wonderful news, but sadly the new system had some bugs that they were working on. The park was pretty crowded during the day, but it really got empty during the night, which meant A LOT of rides on the coasters. It was almost like ERT, one time I got to stay on Insane for 6 rides in a row. Kvasten was running great this day, it was not rattling at all, which I found is very rare. Probably got new wheels all over the train during the off season. Really fun rides on it. The bobsled coaster on the other hand is not aging well, it starts to rattle quite a lot on non banked turns, hopefully this will be addressed in the future. But the best surprise of the day was Twister. I had 7 amazing night rides in the front row of it, and it has grown huge on me. ( I didn't care to much of it last year). I was really blown a way by the ride this time. It seemed to have gotten a little bit more rough during the winter, but that is probably my brain playing tricks with me. But it seriously impressed me for the first time. Balder still plays volleyball with it tough, duh... Since Jetline was closed all day I actually broke my old Insane record and got over 30 rides on it this day, some of them were among the best I ever had on it, thanks to some cleaver 2+1 loading. All in all it was a great day, with perfect operations ( I got about 100 rides on different attractions in 10 hours), and good food with nice weather. Also got a hold of some new info regarding the future expansion. The parking lot next to the park will most likely be used for a indoor amusement park. There will be a basement which takes care of all the infrastructure handling of the park, such as waste, garage and storage facilities, and amusement park above it. They don't say anything about what the new indoor park will feature, but it will be year round operation. They claim the whole project will be something unheard of. Indoor, ride and haunted are three key words. The expansion is pretty far in the future tough, but there will be no big coaster there, sadly. Now I just hope they can find a good spot in the current park to fit the Star Flyer in. Sadly no pics, as my camera is forgotten in Norway.
  18. I always thought that the spine had to be double, since I first saw the concept picture, with a barrel roll in the middle of nowhere, 150 feet up in the air.
  19. Atlantica Supersplash is a more of a splash down ride, Poseidon is more of a coaster ride. Both rides exist because the water rides at Europa Park is extremely popular in the summer. They are both prototypes from it's parents company Mack, as already said.
  20. Has anybody a new update on the new coaster going up?
  21. The Star Flyer is actually planned for this season, and not 2013. The park has put up a sign on the way out to the park that says "awesome new ride" and has a picture of the ride. Source: http://rideguidegroup.com/site/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=153&start=25
  22. Same paint job, different colors, as Spin Spider at Tusenfryd. Same owner of both parks. My guess would be that this ride, just like the one at Tusenfryd, will receive a sign on each side of the top with Kennywood on them, as well as spider eyes on each side of it, just like Spin Spider.
  23. You do realize that there are 143 million people living in Russia, and the majority of them living in the west? And no theme pars to speak about, exept Divo Ostrov in St: Petersburg. Compare that to the Flanders are where you have about 50 other parks to compete about for visitors. Have you ever seen traveling Russians? They are everywhere! Russia is one of the fastest growing nations in comes of welfare. Actually Russia have eased up the visa rules for a lot of European country's, there are a lot of people going to Moscow for a short holiday trip. Because this would be the only seasonal theme park with could temperatures in the world.. The reputation of the city? I seriously don't think that Russians are caring that much about the reputation of their own capital.. After all, Moscow must be the only big city in the world with a bad rep according to you? And you don't think the Russians want's to experience the American pop culture they are watching on TV and the internet? If all people were thinking the same way as you, there would be no big parks in the world.. This thing could be a huge hit for Universal, it's always good to be first with something. Have you seen the theme park market in China recently? You don't think the same thing will happen in Russia in a smaller scale soon?
