It's a very well known fact that this ride will have steel wheels, making it feel just like a wooden coaster should. -

Okay, this whole discussion of "why not just get a steel coaster" is getting retarded. The park want's a wooden coaster that looks wooden, and rides wooden, but they don't want the maintenance part of it. End of discussion! -

It could go either way actually. Given the parks recent expansion it could very well be a new coaster coming in 2013, but still it's only 1 year ago from the opening of the parks biggest investment ever. Hopefully it's a coaster, but it could also very well be something like a new obstacle course or something similar. I would like to see an Intamin 8-inversion coaster. The new one with a cable lift and new trains. Would be unique in Europe, except for Colossus, and very marketable in the Nordic countries. I know the plans for a Thirteen style coaster was scrapped after the Legoland announcement. -

Isn't there two banners in the park now? One at Disaster Transport, and one near Kiddy Kingdom? My guess is a new B&M and a new kiddie credit! -
Well I know that S&S don't make hydraulic launches, I just wrote that because they still use a catch car, and are not magnetic . Don't know why I wrote that, but my point is that I don't see S&S start selling magnetic launches anytime soon. Oh yes, they are done for, unless you want a record breaker. Thanks to new manufacters like Gerstlauer, Mack and Zierer coming in on the market, the LSM have become cheaper to invest in since 2009, thanks to harder competition on the market, so I really don't see any park wanting a hydraulic one even if they want a more powerful launch. There are just so many more advantages with going with the magnetic ones.

The magnetic launches has come a very far way now since the late 90's, and they don't require much more energy now than your average big amusement ride. The only problem left is that they have a limit to how fast you can launch them, a 200 foot hill is about maximum for now. We will not see another Intamin hydraulic one open, unless it is for a record breaker. There really is no need for them anymore, and they require a lot of maintenance, plus that they are unreliable. Also we have seen that if the cable snaps, it snaps big time. The only one I see kepp producing hydralic launches is S&S air powered ones.

The lap bars will be a completely different shape, but restraint design takes time. They can't just swap them out for new ones. The Gerstlauer guy said they worked over a year for DDD's lap bars, to get them safe enough. I'm confident that this ride will get new lap bars within a not to distant future, but in the meantime we just have to deal with the current ones. Big kudos to Hershey for actually doing the temporarily fix! -

Topper track Texas Giant track Topper track still counts as a wood coaster, and is available to install on already existing rides, while the steal I-beams is only for a full ride remodeling, or a brad new ride. -

After finally seeing the layout, this coaster has me excited big times! It might be a bit short, but after riding lots of short Intamin launch coasters, I doubt it will any problem at all. Huge win for SDC! -

I would like to think that Heide Park is very happy with this decision, so that they can now claim the world record. -

That is a really awesome way to operate a coaster. Give them one ride if there is a line, or just let them go an go and go if there's not -

That sentense is just plain wrong. It`s was wrong three month ago...and it`s wrong now. And you know that. Greeds...GeorgeT Alzheimer coming early? -
Yes, suprise for me as well. This is the only time this summer I have experienced that. On the other hand, there were actually people in line for Green Lantern today (full queue). But I'm calling that a car came in upside down and they waited an ungodly amount of time for a mechanic to flip it over. Really? When that happens on Insane the ride operatorss just run over and flip it in like 5 seconds
