Holy crapballs it seems to be a lot of people out there who takes theme parks waaay to seriously. I mean, I know A LOT about theme parks and I spend more time than I probably should on it, but really these people seems to have gone full retard à la Adam Sandler and mixed it with Jerry Springer. Oh my god can you imagine how the rest of their lives must be? Suddenly the whole Donald Trump thing seems to make sense. (Seriously though, that last part is a joke. We have the same phenomenon going on over on this side as well, hardly anything unique about the US)

If we go back a while in time then it was one of the main selling points of the hydraulic launch, but today the magnetic launches delivers such an intense experience so I doubt think we'll ever see another hydraulic launched coaster again, unless somebody want to break the speed record. The hydraulic launch is still more intense, but the magnetic launches have now reached the level of "intense enough" for the parks. There are still limits to the magnetic launches. When you reach 130-140 km/h then it get very expensive to launch with magnets. Cutting the trains short is pretty much the only way you can save in some of the cost. -

That looks truly awesome! So sad I can't make it this year, last year was purely magical. -

They are most definitely there for their ease of maintenance. Sure hydraulic launches have become a lot more reliable in the last 10 years or so, but they are still very maintenance hungry with several hundreds of moving parts. I don't think capacity will be greater with an LSM launch. Sure the LSM can launch more often but the hydraulic launch compensate for this with it being able to carry more weight (more passengers). -

What makes you think a Vekoma hyper would be any less costly? -

After watching them again now several times I prefer the Intamin one. Non inverting dive loop over non inverting immelmann every day of the week. The low speed hill on the Vekoma looks like the one on Shambhala, long and drawn out with no airtime. The low overbank on the Intamin followed by the great looking twisted speed hump looks superior to the Vekoma one. Not really a big fan of the zig-zag turns on the Intamin. The overbank above the station is a nice and visually impressive looking feature on the Intamin. The ending on both the Vekoma and the Intamin looks great and none of them really looks better than the other. I prefer the Intamin but I will be happy with either way. To be honest I think the people behind the park is scouting all the coaster boards out there like crazy after releasing something like this. -

There is an enormous potential for the theme park sector in Poland. The country is on a strong economic growth and they have half the population of Germany. This is the only major park they have in the country and it's quick success is probably only the beginning. -

Bear in mind that it was SEK 50 millions to construct the ride, the price for the actual rides hard- and Software is not even half of that. I don't think Liseberg will ask to much for it, there have to be something similar to a "used car market" for theme parks where they set prices accordingly to what it's worth. With Kanonen there should be a need for a few newly produced columns under the top hat for a relocation, since the ride most likely won't be elevated the same way in a new park as it is in Liseberg. I'm think those are 40-seat swings. I don't think there is an Intamin 50-seater as of today. -

Don't know how I missed this thread, but I am extremley jealous. Space rockets is one of my top interest and a tour like this is high on my bucket list. Seriously, I would probably go to Kennedy space center straight out of the airport and then afterwards go to the Orlando parks. -

No it would not be perfect for Kolmården. Wildfire more than enough pleases Kolmårdens need for a thrill ride. What Kolmården need is a big, high quality and high capacity water ride. The place gets hotter than hell in the summer. After that more attractions for the whole family is what is needed in terms of rides. Wildfire haven't really been receiving the big crowds one would think that it would. -
2017 Worst Year for new coasters in U.S. ?
_koppen replied to nhman93's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To be honest I think the US parks have been focusing to much on coasters in the past. We now see a much needed shift (IMO) towards other rides. For an example Six Flags is adding lot's of big flat rides and Cedar Fair have been in Europe to get some classical rides. That is a really stupid thing to write, have you even been on such a coaster? -

Shouldn't really be that hard. Hopefully one of the smaller parks in Norway/Denmark Germany can pick it up so I can visit it in the future. Sorry, that's not gonna happen. The noise regulations made it absolutely impossible for them to build something of it's magnitude, sadly. -

Awesome! Really happy for all of you guys in the US for getting this ride. The Intamin jetski/ATV-coaster is seriously one of the absolute best family-thrill coaster there is! -

HOLY FREAKING SHITBALLS!!! This is almost bigger than the new rides IMO. Seriously though, it's about time! Burger King is the absolute worst of the burger chains, I take McDonalds, Sibylla, MAX, Subway or just about anything before I set foot in a Burger King again. They are nothing but disappointment.
