um, correct me if I'm wrong but if you make the water in a rapids ride red, won't everyone's clothes get stained? -

Eddie Money did a free concert a few years ago at Playland. Not a huge name but for a free concert they get some decent stuff. -

Just read through everything and just a few quick useless tidbits. 1 - Not only is Top Gun underrated, but other than FOF and Firehawk it's the best coaster at KI. Vortex is good too but everything else is just "meh". Nice mine train though. 2 - I'm glad someone else thinks Laser is the best coaster at DP. It's really not even close actually. 3 - Yeah NJ is a mess. I remember driving around the Garden State Parkway for 45 minutes, passing 4 entrances to GSP south but not a single one for GSP North. Luckily you can't pump your own gas in NJ so you can keep asking gas station attendants wtf to do. 4 - I actually love Nitro and kind of like GASM but other than that I agree with your take on great Adventure. Rolling Thunder, The Dark Knight and Superman add nothing to the park, but I'm glad TDK and Superman are there because they always manage to keep people away from good rides. (PS - Medusa and batman are great). -

That ride is huge. Who would have room for it? -
Lean forward when you're riding Mean Streak. It makes it a lot better if less of your back is touching the back of the seat. Plus nothing is as rough as the Great Adventure Viper.

I didn't go last night because the worst seats in the house were going for 400.00 but I screwed up. I should have gone, you can't put a price on something like that. I know a lot of people on this board don't like baseball and I feel sorry for you. But for anyone that does last night was a truly amazing night... no matter what team you root for. I live about an hour from Yankee Stadium and over the past few years have been fortunate enough to go to at least 100 games. I've had a lot of fun... blown a lot of money and seen some amazing things there, and I'll remember those days for as long as I live. The new stadium is going to be great but it will NEVER be Yankee Stadium, I don't care if it's named after it. There is only one House that Ruth Built, and as the sign in the upper deck so eloquently put it, It was our house... a house that became a home.

The probability remains the same every year whether there is a hurricane or not. The only thing that would change it is a strong climate, current or weather pattern shift. There is no such thing as being "due" unless you are removing the other options as they are selected (or in this case hit by hurricanes). With weather, you're not doing that. -

To me that would be a sign that a big storm was likely in the near future. Just means the area is over due for a storm. Kind of like California. The fact that a major quake hasn't hit in some time doesn't mean that they're in the clear. Quite the opposite, every year that goes by, it become more of a risk that another major quake is going to hit. With an earthquake you're actually right because tension has time to increase... with a hurricane it's just random chance. You're not "due" for a hurricane. That's completely idiotic. -

"It's like warm apple pie" -
I would think that every coaster at Great Adventure is grounded very well, they're not going to catch fire. It is kind of funny though that people are saying "x coaster was hit by lightning and it took this long to fix". When something is hit by lightning it's very random what components it takes out and what components it doesn't. Even if you surge protect them, if it hits the component itself or anything after the surge protection box it might blow out anyway. I'm sure no 2 lightning - coaster incidents are alike.

Actually I'm posting this from Rehoboth Beach since we have a place down here, and I really enjoyed your tr. It's nice to see Funland getting some love. The place is still run by one family, and it's just about the cheapest amusement park around. We actually stopped in for some skeeball last night. You picked a good year to come too because SuperFlip is probably the most intense ride they have ever had. It's nice to see them with a ride that's actually intense for a change, although I still think the Paratrooper is my favorite ride. By the way I hope you got on the bumper cars, they're really good. As far as ocean city goes we were down there the other night, aside from being the miniature golf capital of the universe there is a ton of stuff to do there. We didn't ride anything this trip except for the Zipper but I've been on most of the coasters and even though they're all pretty lame, they really add to the beach and boardwalk atmosphere. Glad you enjoyed your trip! -Bill PS - Dogfish head is awful beer but we love it anyway. PSS - deguy123, I actually like Grotto better than Nicola for pizza, but I do love those Nicobolis... too bad nobody in Delaware seems to know what a calzone is but those are probably better anyway. Oh and I did get on that Blue Diamond coaster once and you didn't miss anything. -

Well now you have (Link) I have no problem with the speed because sometimes (even though it's a 65) that's just the speed people are going, but pay attention to the road. Yes, you should ignore him. Think of all of the people that are going to be stuck in traffic when they have to clear the debris, not to mention the other drivers closer to you put in danger. -

Idiots like this are why there are always accidents on the turnpike. There is no other reason as to why a perfectly straight road with very few exits is always backed up except for that people don't pay attention. Pay attention to the road, especially near Six Flags since you usually have to slam on the brakes right before exit 7A or at the merge. -

That's completely idiotic. If anything it will lead to people spending less time with the kids since a lot of people need to check emails for work. Before they could still go to the park and have fun with the family 95% of the day, but now I guess they have to stay home or find an alternate form of entertainment. -
