What is the Scariest Ride Ever??
coasterbill replied to coaster23's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The only rides that I've ever been scared on are Big Shot in Las Vegas, or any Skycoaster. -

I'm on a family vacation at the beach so I've been attacking the Landshark. -

That's an insane amount of driving. I live in NY and my girlfriend lives in NC so I'm used to that endless drive on I-95. Hope you have EZ PASS lol. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coasterbill replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks like a cool ride. Everyone that's ridden it says it's great but from the POV it doesn't look that much better than WWL. I guess I need to ride it and see. -
Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TV
coasterbill replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"Big" had a lot of scenes from Rye Playland. Not a bad movie and it's my home park. -
Debate KK & TTD HERE!
coasterbill replied to Speeddeamon128's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've ridden both. They're the same ride. I guess Kingda Ka should win because it's taller. I never understood why this was such a hot issue. It would be like debating which of 2 boomerangs was better. -

Just got a chance to listen today. Very entertaining as usual, Robb. -
Robb Alvey on In the Loop Live!

I'll probably podcast it rather than listen live. I need something to listen to on the train. Can't wait for this one though. -
Actually, any park without a strong customer base in a marketable area that invests in a B&M coaster is taking a big risk. I don't think it was an issue with this park (There is no way that they were expecting to see a profit on their investment in just one year with or without the B&M) but that theory makes no sense at all. Good marketing, a good product and a good location make for a successful park.

"Coney Island: A Fond Fairwell"
coasterbill replied to Not For Sale's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
LOL Very nice! Sorry but Coney Island is a dump. You just walk around thinking about how cool it probably was once. It needs A LOT of work at this point. -
What is the worst Theme Park in the world?
coasterbill replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
lol at the angry responses to the "Cedar Point" post. Does anyone on this board understand what sarcasm is? And as far as the worst park, I hate to say this but it's Astroland for me. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
coasterbill replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This ride is not designed to be the star attraction at magic mountain. It's probably going to be a great ride that solidifies an already impressive lineup of coasters. If the line is 2 hours long... Magic Mountain did something right. If you don't want to wait in line, there are 15 other coasters that you can ride. -

When was the last time they built a new coaster and nobody complained? Calm down people... I'm sure you'll ride it and love it. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
coasterbill replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
lol, can we ride it first before we decide that it sucks? It will probably have plenty of airtime, and low to the ground turns can be just as exciting anyway. -
Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

Ignore that image. The lift hill won't be that steep and the drop will not look like that. It's an exaggerated graphic piece probably designed as a second logo / something that looks good on stationary / letterheads. That being said, the POV looks great. This should be a really fun coaster. -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
coasterbill replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The "Monsoon" ride that Wyandot Lake used to have. Does anyone remember that? -
New York City buys Wonder Wheel Site
coasterbill replied to spaceace12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree Keep Keyspan Park, the Parachute Drop (Open it), the Wonder Wheel, Nathans and the Cyclone and bulldoze the rest of it. Then start from scratch and actually put in something nice. Including shops along the boardwalk (and how about some new planks?) -

Jungle Jack's landing is pretty cool if you absolutely hate anything that resembles a tree. -

It needs to look a lot better than it does now. Coney Island was never a big place for nostalgia, it was the place for the cutting edge and extreme. Personally I would landscape the place a little bit, and then add some really cool rides. Coney Island needs to go back to being a place for cutting edge thrills. -

Astroland is a dump, personally I'd like to see them get rid of it but I wish it could be another amusement park rather than condos.
