Looks like a cool ride. Everyone that's ridden it says it's great but from the POV it doesn't look that much better than WWL. I guess I need to ride it and see.
I've ridden both.
They're the same ride. I guess Kingda Ka should win because it's taller. I never understood why this was such a hot issue. It would be like debating which of 2 boomerangs was better.
Actually, any park without a strong customer base in a marketable area that invests in a B&M coaster is taking a big risk. I don't think it was an issue with this park (There is no way that they were expecting to see a profit on their investment in just one year with or without the B&M) but that theory makes no sense at all. Good marketing, a good product and a good location make for a successful park.
LOL
Very nice!
Sorry but Coney Island is a dump. You just walk around thinking about how cool it probably was once. It needs A LOT of work at this point.
lol at the angry responses to the "Cedar Point" post.
Does anyone on this board understand what sarcasm is?
And as far as the worst park, I hate to say this but it's Astroland for me.
This ride is not designed to be the star attraction at magic mountain. It's probably going to be a great ride that solidifies an already impressive lineup of coasters.
If the line is 2 hours long... Magic Mountain did something right.
If you don't want to wait in line, there are 15 other coasters that you can ride.
lol, can we ride it first before we decide that it sucks?
It will probably have plenty of airtime, and low to the ground turns can be just as exciting anyway.
Ignore that image. The lift hill won't be that steep and the drop will not look like that. It's an exaggerated graphic piece probably designed as a second logo / something that looks good on stationary / letterheads.
That being said, the POV looks great. This should be a really fun coaster.
I agree
Keep Keyspan Park, the Parachute Drop (Open it), the Wonder Wheel, Nathans and the Cyclone and bulldoze the rest of it.
Then start from scratch and actually put in something nice. Including shops along the boardwalk (and how about some new planks?)
It needs to look a lot better than it does now. Coney Island was never a big place for nostalgia, it was the place for the cutting edge and extreme. Personally I would landscape the place a little bit, and then add some really cool rides. Coney Island needs to go back to being a place for cutting edge thrills.
