  1. ^I think it depends on what you’re looking for… Are you looking for rumors that may or may not be true or are you looking to only see the real stuff when it is confirmed. If it is the latter, you could just keep coming here where we post legitimate news as it is released.

  2. This! How anyone can take seriously a website that looks like/is laid out like it is, is beyond me. Yes he's right half of the time, he's also wrong half of the time.

  3. I honestly regret even quoting Screamscape about this in the first place. There's more to the story from the Screamscape side that I've seen on social media today that I'm frankly disgusted by. I'll give Bill credit for mentioning the fact that they just re-painted Kumba a few years ago, then pointing out the fact that Screamscape seems to be really going on a tangent with this whole story about B&M being in the park and then conveniently evaluating Kumba for another? repaint, then "oh looks like you need a new coaster here". I feel like the guy who runs Screamscape has some other agenda like trying to get site traffic, social media shares, trying to get clicks on his 200 ads on his 1995 web page, or just trying to stay relevant/be talked about. Judging by his social media posts in which he's STILL trying to weirdly keep the rumor alive by replying to posts citing Busch Gardens' post and/or calling out his BS with replies like "The park confirming that it will do what it takes to keep it [Kumba] and following through with that would be the best news possible", just erodes any credibility and really, makes him look like a desperate idiot caught in a lie. Is he so entitled that he thinks Busch Gardens owes him some kind of commitment or answer to a rumor that he himself started and spread? Even though I've always taken everything on that site with some grain of salt, I've still been a reader for like 15+ years, as Screamscape has, at minimum, been a one-stop page to read a list of actual announcements in a centralized list form so I don't have to jump to 20 different sites and social media pages to have an overview of what's going on in different areas of the industry. But this one, at least for me, is pretty revealing and makes me think that the rot goes even deeper. At that point, what can you really trust from that source? In short, f*ck that guy.

  4. Oh geez, I hope this doesn't become all we talk about for the rest of the season. People I implore you........try to move forward and not dwell on the past and accept it for the massive improvement it will be over what we have had for, oh I don't know, 20 years or so now. Let's not sacrifice the good in vain attempts at getting the perfect.

  5. No matter what the park says some people will not believe it and this rumor's basically going to become COVID-19. People arguing about who is right and wrong, are officials lying and old tweets to prove/disprove conspiracies, and still here years later. We'll see peaks of discussion and it'll fade and then when a deadline is missed, the rumor will mutate into a new variant closing date and rise up again and it'll keep repeating it until the date is eventually right, and then the 'I told you so' people will appear.

  6. Busch Gardens' social media has been awesome lately, whoever is running that should get a raise. They are engaging and fun but still tasteful. Very happy to see this rumor get shut down. Screamscape really is clowning right now after both the Ride of Steel and Kumba removal rumors both being shut down by their respective parks because they spread so much.

  7. So they repainted Kumba in 2019 and it still looks brand new (seriously, it looks great and you can still tell that it was *just* painted) but they had initially planned to paint it again this year for no reason and the unnecessary repaint was cancelled because the ride is closing forever? Does this story seem odd to anyone else?

  8. Hope so as well, along with putting the Large Screamin' Eagle Sign back on the Third Hill (the hill behind the Station)

  9. Europa Park just showed off a tiny teaser for the new coaster based in a new themed area Croatia. By the looks of the teaser, it seems like they are indeed going for an infinity coaster approach. One Big Dipper train with four rows. The teaser is available on their streaming platform VEEJOY.

  10. <sighs> Your sunset shots of everything ('specially those coasters) was top notch! How beautiful everything must have looked to you, when the sun really started setting! Thanks for sharing your (obviously) great visit there, Adam.

  11. I will mirror ALL of adamico2's advice. I agree with all of it. My one piece of advice: Don't miss the water park at holiday world. Even if you HATE water parks, do the 3 water coasters at minimum, and then do all the dry stuff. Seriously. Just trust me. No, really, just do it. No excuses. Literally if it's the only water park you enter in your lifetime, this is the one. Oh, one disagreement with this thread, skyline chili (and that other chain as well... lone star? Or something?) is absolute trash. There I said it. Barra tacos is great. If anyone suggests Chet and Matt's for pizza in Sandusky, they have clearly never had good pizza. It's CHEAP but that's about it. Not sure why everyone raves about it, other than the fact they also have a buffet, but the quality is very eh. Hey... I met my wife at that Santa Claus subway. (insert a joke about a footlong here). Sorry. (Booo.... groooaannn... Etc.) Sounds like a fun trip for a first timer! Ready for summer to be here.

  12. Agree with EVERYTHING in this post. No reason for Kumba to go

  13. Thing is any coaster can stay around forever if the park is willing to spend the cash on constant refurbishment and replacement. Thing also is that Corkscrew is a tiny ride in comparison to Kumba and therefore requires less resources to keep around.

  14. Could be worse. Could be clickbait WDWNT. They are literally TRASH. But back on the subject... How can Cedar Point's Corkscrew which is 4 years shy of 50 YEARS still be thrilling people while Kumba barely makes it to 30? I know Kumba runs year round, but Cedar Point's coasters also deal with sub zero temps every year which cannot be good on steel. Just my 2 cents....and WDWNT sucks.

  15. Let's not pretend that Dueling Dragons was removed for any reason other than to expand Harry Potter land and appease JK Rowlings ego.

  16. This was the actual view of the better of our cabins. You could see Lightning Rod in the distance if you knew where to look. The shots were taken from the parking lots where there were less trees in the way.

  17. I'm pretty sure most people book cabins in Pigeon Forge for the view of the Smokies. I picked cabins with views of Dollywood's coasters. I was able to get some unique shots of Lightning Rod and Wild Eagle the past few days. Speaking of Lightning Rod, the coaster only opened for the final 8 minutes of the day on Sunday due to the prior day's snowstorm and then it ran like it's usual self on Monday with a delayed opening and multiple breakdowns.

  18. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay isn't the only park in Central Florida with new steel! I had a chance to hop over to SeaWorld Orlando to experience the Seven Seas Food Festival, spot some construction progress for an upcoming project (rumored to be a new coaster) and of course, to ride Ice Breaker for the first time! Ice Breaker is a new shuttle-launch coaster with a "beyond vertical" spike. This coaster packs a surprising punch between its speed and really solid airtime. The coaster operates with two trains, each with eighteen riders. It isn't super high capacity for this reason but the ops team seems to be doing a pretty solid job of moving trains to the launch track as the other train hits the brake run. I enjoyed this one far more than I expected--my only gripes are the capacity and the unnecessary comfort collars. I'll say it because it needs to be said. This coaster doesn't go upside down. It doesn't need comfort collars or over the shoulder restraints. Iron Gwazi (and plenty of other comparable Premier Launchers) operates with just a lap bar and there's no reason this coaster couldn't either. In case you haven't already seen it, here is the new entrance sign for SeaWorld. Construction walls near the park's festival area now extend to the old tram path outside of the park limits. Inside of the park the new "beer garden" between Sesame Street Land and Wild Arctic has been unveiled. I didn't expect it to be a literal garden with beer, but here we are. Lots of tasty food options to be had at the Seven Seas Food Festival. Buying a lanyard is still the best deal if you know you're going to buy five or more items during your visit. Reuben egg rolls and shepherd's pie from Ireland. Both delicious. Skirt steak and a frozen caipirinha. The drink is highly recommended especially on a hot day! Giant meatballs and mozzarella at the Italy booth. The shrimp roll and clam chowder were both really generous portions for a festival event! Why I'm really here. The coaster is tucked into a very small plot of land and guests can get very close. Lots of themed merch available for purchase. I really do love that SeaWorld parks have embraced the fun of producing CoasterDynamix Nanocoasters. A neat model. As the sun began to set, I took some time to photograph the coaster in motion. This is a neat element. At this point the coaster flys through the layout at a surprising speed. And this is a neat vantage point. Yes, the height requirement was raised before the ride's grand opening... This is neat to watch up close. I won't complain about more opportunities for airtime in Central Florida. I wish these trains were more comfortable and easier to get in and out of. The comfort collars are difficult to navigate and don't feel necessary in the slightest. I got lucky with a really pretty sunset. The money shot. They have other coasters here too. Still water beneath a gorgeous sky. Just taking it all in. I love SeaWorld's Waterfront views. Looking towards the festival area beside Bayside Stadium, we can see some of the area amenities being cleared. Looks like what is coming will reshape this corner of the park. Construction flags! Looking forward to seeing this space transformed! Even the exit for Ice Breaker is a narrow path. Everything about this coaster fits into a narrow space. Since we were here, I finally had a chance to experience the newer Orca Encounter show. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the new show balanced education and more "show" elements. My son was loving every second of seeing these orcas in action. The audience around us certainly wasn't bored. This will never not amaze me. I haven't taken a cheesy photo in a while so here's me getting back to quota. I love that SeaWorld is playing into the nostalgia of its classic characters. Merchandise to play into these "classics" has been ramping up over the last few months and I think it is brilliant. This is the "Sea World" I grew up with and it is fun to see these characters revived. I hope walk-around versions are next! Love. It. Care to join?

  19. I went to a homicide training/seminar last week. Long story short, one of the incidents involved parents pushing their deceased infant through the park in a stroller, knowing he was dead. True story. Enjoy your next visit. Cheers.
