Rotating seats to similar a S&S 4th Dimension Coaster rotate to 360° at Dollywoods Wingrider i hope

it built the first B&M Wingrider with rotating seats

I wouldn't get your hopes up, rotating seats would be awesome but I don't see that happening for some reason with the B&M design.

I just hope that it's long and has a good layout. I would be very surprised if B&M ever went with rotating seats on the Wingrider, doesn't seem to jive with their buisness model. For me, the Flyers have at least made invesions fun again, hopefully the Wingriders will be similar.

Which one is going to open first, though?

And all Dollywood would have to say is America's first B&M Wingrider...

When I made the above statement I thought that Skyrush was more like Baco. The trains on Skyrush are really just modified 4 wide, not like a Wing Walker trains.

Gotcha. Both rides will be unique to each other, so yeah good for both Hersheypark and Dollywood!

As much as I'm an Intamin fanboy, I'm going to go with B&M as they already have a Wingrider that's operational so hopefully all of the mechanical and programming kinks (if any) have been worked out.

And call me biased, but I don't view SkyRush as a 'wing-rider' anyway... it's a hyper coaster with two seats that just so happen to be floorless... using that theory, one could also say every B&M hyper is a 'wing-rider'.

How so? They have floors...

Sure, but the two 'wing' seats have a very similar feeling to them on the newer style 'Mega' trains.

I feel like B&M trains have a floorless feeling even with the floor. I'm 5'8 and to touch the floor I need to reach with my toes haha, although I must say the newer trains with the staggered seating is the best! I am really hoping this is a Wingwalker to experience sitting next to the track, what a rush that will be and a brilliant design for a train

tntornadox, I'll be honest, I don't quite follow you either. If you wanna loosely consider Griffon and Skeikra to be "wing-riders," then I suppose it makes sense, in theory.....sort of. But the outside seats on the new style B&M hypers don't exactly sit out off the track in any way, sense, or form.

SkyRush may only have two seats hanging off the outside rails, but by definition, it's technically still pretty much a 'wing-rider' design, no?

Eh, screw it. I just realized I thought WAY too much about this. They are what they are.....which is...whatever people wanna call 'em.

I was referring to the feeling one gets on those outside seats, especially on the new staggered seating trains.

You're right, there will be a discussion what to classify it as.

If this is the start of B&M's sale of 4D coasters I will be rediculously excited! (Mostly because if it's B&M Six Flags Great Adventure is almost a lock to get it and that's my home park!) It would be awesome to see that concept fully realized nearly 10 years after the geniuses at Arrow created the concept. (Seriously: arrow, kings of ideas, clowns of execution)

The new version of Dollywood2012.com is now up and you have to enter your email and zip code before entering the new site. The slogan on that page is "Very soon, your imagination will soar." with a countdown below. There is also an image of a Smoky Mountain valley with a big eagle nest and egg which obviously hints to the rumored name/theme WILD EAGLE. Then besides that it has information on Boomsday, a place where you can guess what it is (B&M wingrider...), a link to their YouTube page, and their Twitter page is also on there.

So in other words, go check it out...

^Cool. As of Sunday 8/8 no vertical construction has begun on the 2012 project...at least from the Slidewinder area or the Wilderness Pass area. Footers around Slidewinder looked even more complete with bolts and plates. When it does start it will probably go rather quickly. I didn't notice any new activity around the supposed station area either.

Dollywood posted their 2012 schedule in a PDF...i didn't see the full version on the website. Notable change - Dollywood Nights looks as though it has been increased to two weeks for 2012, so that is good news. I didn't notice any other major differences on the calendar - i've attached it in case anyone wants to see.
