PhishyBrewer Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 When I first started brewing for Anheuser-Busch in Fairfield, we brewed eight different brews; Budweiser, Bud Light, Natural Light, Michelob Hefeweizen, Michelob Black and Tan, Michelob Porter, Bare Knuckle Stout and Pacific Ridge Pale Ale. But with our specialty brands not selling well, they were quickly eliminated. So for the past two years we only brewed Budweiser, Bud Light, Natural Light, Busch and Busch Light. But things are changing. We now have a new brew house, a one of a kind bottle line and our brewery is known as “The Brewery of the Future”. Times are changing in Fairfield. And so is our beer. New beer! Want to take a guess what this beer is? It’s the very first brew and was just packaged on Friday for distribution. What is it? I’ll share it with you when it’s done chilling. Whats that label say??? Pretty plain looking crowns. It's a Budweiser 6-pack carrier. But no neck labels. Hoppy Holidays... thats silly! Hmm... is it Budweiser???
SharkTums Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 The suspense...chill already...can't take much more!!!!
CoasterFanatic Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Well it is 5% ABV and a lager. Let the guessing begin! Since A&B has already produced an Amber Beer, I will say it's a "California Common".
Hattuchili Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Man, that must be cool, to test some beer before anyone else can drink it! --Sören
waterviper Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 I haven't a clue as to what it could be!! Let the drooling begin!!!
65skylark Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Hoppy Holidays. Very clever. What will those wacky Budweiser people think of next.
TheStig Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Is it water? Reminds me of those "it's raining beer" commericials... Colin"I'm a Guinness man myself"C
mcjaco Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 If it's Budweiser Select, I'm going to puke.
Coaster Palooza Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Come on Wally, break open the bottle and let's see it.
mcjaco Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 It's Blatz isn't Wally??!!! I just know it is!
AllisonY2K Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 on a side note, what's this World Lager that AB has out now? best of both worlds? what's the dealio, Beer Man?
PhishyBrewer Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 If it's Budweiser Select, I'm going to puke. Hey....
PhishyBrewer Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 on a side note, what's this World Lager that AB has out now? best of both worlds? what's the dealio, Beer Man? Anheuser World Lager, aka Anheuser World Select, was released about 2 years go as an attempt to compete with Heineken. And honestly, I enjoy it a lot more than a Heineken.
PhishyBrewer Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Click here to find out what the new beer is->http://www.bbfun.com/viewtopic.php?p=1823&mforum=phishybrewercom#1823
Nrthwnd Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Hmmm. Any chance we'd be getting it up here, thru Canuck distributors, Wallace? Ho ho ho.
PhishyBrewer Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 ^I doubt it. Budweiser and other Anheuser-Busch products are brewed at a Labatt Brewery in Canada for the fine folks in Canada. So unless they start brewing it up there, I highly doubt it. It should reach test markets in the states within a couple months... I hope.
Eagle Rider Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Anheuser Bush beer is nothing to get excited about. They've always brewed beer for the masses. There's nothing wrong with that. I just prefer beer with taste. I'm a micro brew guy. My all time favorite is Brutal Bitter from the Rogue brewey in Newport, OR. Yum!
stingrock23 Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I hope it makes it down here. I'm partial to Abita, a beer brewed about an hour north of New Orleans. They just came out with this season's version of the Christmas Ale, which changes every year.
PhishyBrewer Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Anheuser Bush beer is nothing to get excited about. I used to say the same thing. But so far, I like the direction were heading. Were starting to brew more and more unique ales and lagers.
Slacking Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I was disappointed by the Pumpkin Spice Ale, but did like the Marzen and Pale Ale.
Eagle Rider Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Phishybrewer, I like your reply. I'm pro beer and if Anheuser brews a good beer I'll drink it. After all, I do live in St. Louis. Ps: ever tasted Anderson Valley pale ale out of Boonville, CA? Yum
PhishyBrewer Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Ps: ever tasted Anderson Valley pale ale out of Boonville, CA? Yum Poleeko Gold is one of my favorites I hope to tour the Anderson Brewery sometime soon. I can't get enough of that crazy bear with antlers
Wes Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Wally, what kind of beer would you recommend for someone who doesn't like it (me)? I've never been able to get into beer, I think it tastes weird and gross.
CoasterFanatic Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Not Wally, but if you like other drinks (Liquor, Cordials, Wine, etc) you may want to try some of the darker beers and Belgium beers (ex: Chimay). You will find these to be quite a different experience from what most think as beer tasting.
Eagle Rider Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 PhishyB I just moved from Oreogn a couple of months ago. Too bad buddy. I'd have road tripped down to CA to drink beer and ride coasters wit ya in the bay area Peace
