^ Very neat pic! Also you can see the second Mine Train, which now runs as Big Bad John at Magic Springs in Arkansas. Love me some vintage pics!

Here's another picture of the second Mine Train.

Was the name of it "Sweet Sioux's"?

^^ no that is just a store. It was also called River King Mine Train, then when stand up trains were put on it it was called Rail Blazer. The intrance for it was to the right of the intrance for the the one that still exists. Its station and loading platform are still there. They are used for Haunts during Fright Fest.

^ Are there plans to expand the park into the boneyard area? And of course ask him about the plans for the Hannibarrels site, simply out of curiosity.

Actually, the Rail Blazer stand-up trains were on the mine train that is still at the park today.

And while the second side apparently was a lot better than the one currently at the park, SFSTL needed to fit Ninja somewhere.

Thanks for some help with the history. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the GP never notices that they're even there, so I wouldn't see the reason to spend money tearing it down. Maybe we'll see it replaced someday....maybe by bumper cars

Anyway, I have a lunch meeting scheduled with Dave Roemer on Wednesday, so if anyone has any questions for him at all, feel free to post them, and I'll ask him for you.

I have a whole meeting-worth of questions, but here are a few things to tell him:

1. Iron Horse for Boss Please

2. Hyper please (wishful thinking)

3. Please repaint Eagle, Batman, and the carousel, because I don't care how much it costs to repaint it, it looks like crap.

4. Batman Backwards and redo the queue, it looks like crap with a Styrofoam fire hydrant and rocks sitting there without a car.

Just a couple notes regarding Dave. He can normally be spotted in the park or at the exit gate. We run into him about every 3 rd or 4th visit and usually chat for 5-10 minutes. He will answer just about any question given including daily attendance numbers. Remember though, he is only our "local" manager and can only do so much with the resources he is given. I' m sure he would love an unlimited budget to do what everyone asks, but he has restraints. My biggest memory of Dave was trying to prod him for info about this year's addition and i think in private he was disappointed in getting a used coaster.

Just got back from King's Island... Man, a SFSTL version of Diamondback would be sooo nice. What a great coaster. The Beast was awesome too, Fast and Powerful. I'd love to see a updated vers of Bumper's replace the old Hannbarrel site, seems like a great location.

Woodie Warrior, the mine train that was removed was pretty comparable to the side that remains for the track of lift 2 to the end as far as comfort/bad transitions. However, the track between lift 1 and lift 2 had some really bad painful spots. I for one am glad they kept the one they did.

That really would be an ideal spot for Bumper Cars!

This is probably our best chance at a new attraction, next year.

2. Hyper please (wishful thinking)

Very wishful thinking. No offense to you, but I wish we could all just get over it. It's not within our near future, if ever.

3. Please repaint Eagle, Batman, and the carousel, because I don't care how much it costs to repaint it, it looks like crap.

I support this all the way. Especially Batman.

I'm all for redoing the ride queue. Shortening it would also be nice. However, for the love of God, don't turn the ride backwards. We've already ruined (In my unpopular opinion) one good ride by turning it backwards. You shouldn't double dip on a marketing gimmick like that.

I went to this park for the first time last year. It was by far one of my most favorite parks I've been to... I also got my #100 on Diamondback.

Shortly after that, I went to one of my most hated parks for the first time: SF Magic Mountain. What a nightmare.

I'm not talking about a complete transformation indefinitely like Mr. Freeze.

I'm saying that I want the backwards trains currently leased at SFGAm to be moved to SFSTL for half a season. Apparently SFGAm's train is being completely redone with some "exciting" changes. Could that mean lap bars instead of OTSR's? I don't know.

SF is planning to send the train around the chains and have it operate at a park while the park is getting its trains updated. All I want is our park to get them next so we don't have to wait three or four years to get our trains updated.

I may have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm gathering this information from what I have read on the SFGAM thread.

I wouldnt be surprised if our Batman runs backwards next season. They tested ours backwards during the past off season, so I'd expect our park to get the chasis next season. Of course I'm just speculating, but wouldnt be surprised.

I'm surprised you didnt like SFMM better than SFStL

I see what you're getting at. I also think I remember reading about the half season reverse trains, which would be nice. I wish they could have done something similar with freeze, as opposed to ruining it for people (me) who thought it was the perfect launched ride.

SfStL is OK. Magic Mountain was just a collection of great rides at a location that neglects them. The place was a dump. Many of their rides weren't operating and the GP were terrible. I have no desire to go back. Knotts was WAY better, IMO.

I feel the two best SF parks I've been to are SFGAm and SFStL. Yes, SFStL needs more, but its a great park for what it does have. SFGAm just has an enviornment and atmosphere unlike anywhere else. I'd love to go back some day.

WoodieWarrior as much & Id love to see lapbar only restraints on Batman that will likely never happen. 1 we've never seen it happen on a more current rides. 2 B&M hasn't had many problems with their current restraint system. They're comfortable seats and they work. If a change is going to happen to the trains I would expect them to update it from 1st generation to the current generation trains as well as adding big boy seats for our how do you say, larger riders. That said however if Six Flags St Louis decides they do you want to put lap bars on Batman I'll be happy I'll be the first one in line lol

^ I'm pretty sure it hasn't been closed too long... It was running all day today with fairly fast dispatches.

Today was the first time I rode Boomerang, and am pretty pleased with how the park fixed this up. The neon colors really liven up that area of the park which looked worn down before. The queue line moved fast for a ride running 1 train. The ride ops do call down the stairs into the line for single riders which was nice, and the station looks really good! The overall ride was great with some hangtime in the cobra roll, and smoothness all around. The only "rough" part is when the train catches on the chain for the second hill, but it's not really bad. The grass in the middle of the ride looks great, compared to the concrete or dirt that I thought would be there.

The park was not packed at all today, with the longest wait being 10 mins for Boomerang.

The reason for the downtime given on another site was the second lift not releasing the train after being pulled up. Supposedly it's been doing this occasionally since Sunday, at times taking over a minute or two to let go of the train for the return trip. Hopefully this can be resolved easily and soon.
