Everyone's pipe dream for Boss is the RMC Iron Horse treatment. But with how Cedar Fair loves Gravity Group's pre-cut track, I don't think anyone would complain too much if they came in and redid 90% of the thing. It would get me down to the park for my first visit.

Yeah I’d expect a Gravity Group Precut reprofile now more than an RMC conversion.

Unfortunately thus far none of the Cedar Flags Gravity Group reprofiled rides have received new trains.

Eagle would also see Precut, with Cedar Flags appearing to add it to several old PTC coasters already.

I think a Gravity Group retrack would make The Boss the premier coaster in the park. That's the kind of top-down improvement I can appreciate. Instead, I suspect we'll see more updates about new trash cans and painted shitter stalls.

Unironically, It's already the premier coaster in the park.  The Boss is a goddamned monster of a ride and I love it to death.  Top three woodie, no notes, perfect ride.  Back seat only, harder daddy.

I always hated the Mid-Course Brake on the Boss... happens way too soon in the circuit.   First and Third Drop are great fun, otherwise it is sorta Meh.  The Double Helix removal also disappointing.  I rather ride SE or Americal Thunder.

A Gravity Group reprofile might well delete the MCBR - and dramatically reshape that vertical element. Now that they're sticking to two train ops the MCBR is no longer needed for block zone needs.

Actually they could shorten most or all three of those hills to some degree to improve the pacing. I could see them adding an outerbank on one of them too* - they've added an odd-banking element on at least one other reprofiling project (Tonnerre 2 Zeus).

To compensate for the increased speed a trim would be added to the station flyby - with good programming to ensure it never hits more than it needs to (without it that final turn and airtime pop would likely be painful - and would still be needed if the helix was restored).

* I'd put it on either the entry or exit of this turnaround.

^ Especially in the back row when you casually roll straight through with no real trim then get launched out of your seat, only for the remainder of the coaster to be an all-out assault on your body in the best way.  Harder, daddy.

I'm being serious.  The Boss is incredible.  I'll die on this hill.  Yes, you are all wrong.

I haven't ridden it in years, but I remember it being savagely fun with defensive riding and a couple beers. Middle of the train non wheel seat, grab the bar in front of you, and lean forward off the seat. Then, hold on for dear life.

It's probably just like bull riding only worse, right?

Boss is still dog$h!t.  I'm 6ft tall, 177 lbs, 39 years old and exercise daily.  Got off that thing last summer for the first time riding it since my college years and wasn't right for a few days and after 2 chiro appointments.  I'd be close to say it's dangerous on most demographics.....I certainly won't go on it again until something is done to it.  I remember loving it when it first debuted and rode it tons as I grew up 8 mins from the park.  I'm not sure how it deteriorated so much over the years.  But, I think we all know we've beat this dead horse into the afterlife for years and nothing has happened.....

The Boss is a gigantic piece of shit. I thought about adding more context to this post but I think a simpler statement is better.

Thank you.  You're wrong, though.  Boss 4 Lyfe.

'For Life' ... that's the irony here.  The older you get, the worse that coaster becomes.

Glad to see they are continuing with the Friday winter updates. I've stated before and still believe that is only a win/win situation and the comments seem to be mostly positive.

As far as the Boss goes, I've always thought they neutered it by taking out the helix. For me it was the best part of the ride and the removal kind of messed up the pacing and forced a more extreme mcbr. On the roughness factor, yes it is rougher than it used to be, obviously, but I am 56, not in terrible shape but past my best shape days and while I notice it more than I used to when riding, it doesn't bother me afterwards or anything. I find the best thing to do with rough coasters is ride like a drunk person, trying to brace or hang on tight makes it worse. I would love an RMC conversion, but that's because I am an RMC fan and I realize that appears to be a quickly fading pipe dream; therefore, I would be happy with a Gravity group retracking if it prolongs the life expectancy and improves the ride experience.

If I had to choose though, and hopefully they will give attention to both, I want the resources put into maintenance for Eagle. This is THE classic woody in the park and since she will be turning 50 in 2026 I would really love to see her looking her best. I mean at least give her a fresh red, white, and blue paint job. Please.

Au contraire, I'm almost 40 and want this thing to beat me into submission every time.  Makes me feel alive, baby!

...I may be realizing I have a slight BDSM fetish...

Such a crime that COVID ripped away our lives AND it cost us an RMC conversion on the Boss.  I would pay a LOT of money to see what the proposal and plans looked like.....

Yea,  I'm hopeful they tip the cap to Eagle for its 50th.  It wouldn't cost much, to your point.  New paint job and then as a nod to the olden days, let's throw those running lights back up!  That was SO cool to see at dusk/night.  Especially in the back of the woods as you go through the trees with those lights accompanying.  Those were the days.....

I do wonder what else is being done to Eagle since they're doing a rare lift hill retrack. The timing at least appears to be not entirely unrelated to the anniversary. We also haven't seen the rest of it - is Gravity Group on site?

[It usually takes two seasons for them to do a precut retrack so to have it all done for 2026 they'd have to do some now]

Gravity Group's track would enable them to bring back the speed hill that was removed and should allow them to reduce the banking a bit in the turns to make it more like the original experience. A smoother experience and stronger track that needs less constant maintenance are the two benefits of it and both address the reasons those changes were made to the coaster.

I love the shots from the workshops. Even though the Boomerang update is a bit obvious - of course every coaster gets new wheels each offseason. They get new wheels throughout a season. New freezers for First Cone are an interesting thing to include in one of these updates since it seems small.
