If the park somehow extended Boss's height or drop and made either over 200 feet, wouldn't it also work as a hyper coaster for the park if RMC didn't add inversions?

I wish they'd tear down the unused side of the Log Flume and put a water coaster in its place. Or just repaint and reopen the other side and make them race or something. The Log Flume is fun, it just looks horrible right now.

Adding 50 feet to the drop would require the lift hill to be steeper and to add structure. I think they only added 10 feet to Texas Giant. As for the Rattler, they didn't have to add structure, but simply remove structure to make the drop bigger. To be quite honest, I think it would be to difficult for them to add 50 feet. The Boss sits on top of the park and probably catches a lot of wind. Adding 10-20 feet to the structure seams quite possible, but adding 50 feet would be difficult. Trying to support that added structure from swaying in the wind would be the hardest part, because you would be adding it to the existing structure. I don't know if that makes any sense, but it's really difficult to explain.

As for making it work as a hyper, that would be something the park doesn't have. But it would be difficult to gauge weather the GP would be more drawn to a hyper or a looping coaster.

The ride could have a steeper drop and therefor be able to have a longer drop. Also the ride uses a double dip for the first drop. Removing that double dip would allow more land for a 50ft longer drop without affecting the height of the lift.

There should be at least 5 Fright Fest attractions this year - (1) whatever the main Haunted House will be this year, (2) Blind Fury, (3) Insanity Alley, (4) Total Darkness (will be in the Sound Stage) and (5) whatever the hayride theme will be this year. The rest of Fright Fest (shows and the other attractions) will probably be almost the same as last year, supposed to have more scare actors in the park and hopefully more of an overall atmosphere (several areas of the park had no theming at all last year).

Was at the park today and noticed work around the Hannibarrels. So definitely seem they're getting things together and taking the ride out. All the ivy has been cleared away and could tell works been going on up there. So that is a good sign because that ride should of been taken out years ago instead of rotting away.

Any pictures?

^ But isn't there a hell of a straightaway before it ever reaches the double drop? I've only ridden the Boss a few times and don't really remember that part of the ride to well.

Yeah. This was the best I could find

^ The more I look at the design of the Boss, I wonder "what the hell can RMC do with it"? I'm curious to see what they do with Medusa down at Six Flags Mexico. There are some similarities between Medusa and the Boss, mainly those big swooping CCI turns that they liked to put on most of their designs.

I know that it may have been unused in the past, but for at least the last month, the left flume has been open with the right side most days for the past month. It seems like the line has also gotten much longer than it has been before, even with both sides open- 3 Days ago, I waited 20 minutes at 12:30 with both sides open.

I'm surprised that both sides aren't open more often, considering how hot it gets in the St. Louis region during the middle of the summer. I've only visited during the spring and Fright Fest. I just thought the other side was closed, because they simply didn't need it.

Does attendance support it?

I thought both sides are still operable, but the lack of popularity in general leads them to only keep one side running so they save on payroll. Has anyone seen an intolerably long line this summer with only one side running?

I would think so. It doesn't make sense for a park to run their rides at full capacity if their projections in attendance don't call for it.

If they are going to mainly operate one side, I wish it would be the side that rarely is used. Its a much better ride experience in my opinion, and it feels longer.

Since they rarely use both sides of the log flume, I would like to see them combine both sides into one long ride with two drops. I know this seems far fetched but they would still only need to employ one crew to operate.

Also I saw the signage for the haunted house in the old chevy show building, really interested in seeing how this will work will the tiered seating from the theater. A very large false floor would have to be built or something.

they really did clean that barrel ride up pretty good.brought back a lot of memories looking at it.just read that the raging caujan will be moved at the end of the season from six flags great America to most likely six flags America.im not knocking the boomerang but the raging caujan would of been a better choice for the park.

What and where is the old Chevy show building?
