Coaster Palooza
I have to agree with Robb on the fact it is how you budget your money. I have my vices of shot glasses, Hard Rock Cafes, etc., but if I were to look even a little more closely at what I spend money on, I am sure that I could do a little more. One of the most recent things I do is I take the light rail to work instead of driving and I bring my lunch. It saves at least $6 a day in gas and possibly $5 a day for lunch, that's $55/week! I also look into cheap airfares and use frequent flyer miles. It is also how you budget your vacation time. I have heard Robb talk about instead of taking the Memorial Day off, combine it with a couple vacation days and you have nearly 5 days to go to a few parks. Yes, Memorial Day at an amusement park is crowded, but the other days around might not be. You should also take red-eyes to the east coast, if you're from the west, because that will give you one more day. We also have season passes to almost everything. There are some other ways to get tickets too. You just need a creative mind.
momo1tx
That would be great if you went on that escalator, you need to make a special trip to ride it! If you can go out of your way to go to Uncle Bernie's Theme Park, I think you can do this! I've been on the world's second largest, but that's just the escalator out of one of my local subway stations...
rollermonkey
Hey, Robb and Elissa, I'm in Kuala Lumpur right now. You said you wanted on-ride footage of Supersonic Oddysee? Ask and you shall recieve! I will send it to you Saturday after I get home. Incidentally, did I mention that I'm 20 feet from Starlight Express at The Mall? What a dump! Photo TR for Escape Theme Park (Singapore), Cosmo's World, Starlight Express, First World Plaza, Genting Highlands, and hopefully Sunway Lagoon (Malaysia) coming soon! (SL is looking very likely, depending on how fast I finish Genting. Chris B Less than two days until I get home!

rollermonkey
I can't upload my movies to TPR without heroic measures like mailing them on CD-ROM to Robb. They are all over 20MB! Any suggestions? Chris B

benzo41190
will this trip be on your 2005 DVD like you did for 2004, Or will it be its own seperate DVD?
SharkTums
Our next DVD will be released in March and will have: - All of our US stuff from the past 12 months - Robb's Around the World Stuff - Japan / Hong Kong Trip
coasterfreak101
So then, stuff like Hades and Avalanche will be on there, along with Robb's Hong Kong trip (?) and this trip (?) and the UK trip (?). Hehe, lots of questions. So, I guess my question is, will all 3 of the international trips be on the next DVD?
benzo41190
but then, will parks be combined into one segment? EXAMPLE segment 1 -Mt Olympus -Timberland falls -little america -SFGAm all in one segment? Or will i be like all the other parks in one closing segment like in the 2004 DVD? IMO, I think that you should have a seperate DVD for your Asia and Hong Kong trip. Then have all of your US parks for a differnt DVD. That way you can dedicate a park to its own segment like you did for 01, 02, and 03.

OldJJman
Since I just started reading this thread... Where do you get all that money ! --Robb "Wishes he had as much money as people seem to think we do!" robbalvey
Here's another installment of "messed up rides" we'll be hitting during our trip. This one is called "Gao" and from what I can tell it's basically a hyper coaster built on the back of a dinosaur!!! YES!!!! Take a look: Accoring to RCDB the stats of the ride are as follows: Length: 5692' 3" Inversions: 0 Speed: 60.8 mph Duration: 3:56 No idea how tall it is, but from the photos it looks to be around 200 feet. Crazy, huh? --Robb "Can't want to get better photos and video of this wacky stuff!" Alvey
WillMontu
From the pics, that looks like a mine train style train. Any idea how this fits into the dinosaur theming?
rollermonkey
Robb, it looks like the whiners have won again. Duane sent me an article, and it appears that Halfpipe on top of Don Quixote may never open. It seems that it will be disassembled without ever opening. Chris See you soon!
