DanM64
^Shockwave is down for the rest of year while parts are manufactured. I think Shockwave is a great ride, but I wonder how much longer the ride will be able to last if parts have to be special made...can't imagine Six Flags wanting that expense forever. I wonder who makes the spare parts for The Whizzer at SFGA?? Keep in mind that Whizzer used to run 5 trains, now at most it runs 3. The other 2 trains were kept to donate parts to the 3 they do use. Aceattack52
I just checked and under every YouTube video of NTAG, the comments are "currently unavailable." What's going on with that? Is YouTube doing this?
cfc
^I'm playing the TPR YouTube video from the media day, and others I checked were working. Probably just a temporary glitch when you tried? Edited August 3, 2013 by cfc
Linders
My husband and I were sitting at the table talking about the rides we liked to ride at SFOT that are no longer there with our kids. We got on the subject because we were wondering what they are putting in over in the area where Flashback was and the old bumper cars. Clearly something is in the works over there. They didn't need much space for TSS. No more than they needed for the Chute Out. That area used to be home to a couple of our favorite ground rides as kids. Who remembers "Roto-Disco?" It was right next to the bumper cars, another favorite. Another thing we were trying to remember is what used to be over at the Gotham area. I know the train depot that is currently over by there is not the original place for that station. I can remember sitting in the waiting area in that section watching them build the Texas Giant in the distance with my jaw to the ground. They only had the lift hill up and another really tall hill. I knew it was gonna be crazy awesome. Anyway, my husband said he saw sections of concrete with bolts coming out of them back there behind the fenced off area by TSS. I told him they were probably the footers from Flashback, but he said they looked like fresh concrete. It would be neat to see another coaster come in and replace the funky one they had there. Something bigger, better, faster, and a quicker moving line. Flashback was one of those we rode just because it was there and only when the line was short. Otherwise, we just walked past it. It took too long to get through the line.

For some reason I have memories of the railroad crossing by Gotham City being a bridge with the walking path crossing underneath it. I'm not sure if I'm correct with this or not, though. Linders
^^ Yes, it was! It's all blocked off there now. It's kind of hard to picture in my mind how it used to be because Flashback is gone, and they have it all fenced off. But I'd swear to you that I didn't have to cut through that stair case that is, next to that theater to get to Judge Roy. It has been so long. It's been over 20 years and I have grown up, had kids, and went a full decade not going to Six Flags. It would be cool to see an old map. My first time there was in 1979, and I was 5. All I remember was riding the boat and walking down a walkway with my parents and cable cars going overhead. Oh, and the old Cave Ride. Like I said I hope they put something real cool in place of Flashback!
RissaBooBissa
How has attendance been during the week? Have family coming to visit from out of town and we were going to visit the park on Monday the 19th... with one week before school, should we expect it to be super crowded? How eerie that we are going exactly one month after the NTAG accident.

How eerie that we are going exactly one month after the NTAG accident. We didn't go this week, but last week we went and it was very quiet around there. We went on Wednesday and Thursday and the crowds were light. With the temps being so hot, people must be hitting Hurricane Harbor. We are going again next week. Hope it will be a light crowd. Of course, season pass holder coupons will be active that week. That drives me crazy that they put all of these date restrictions on the coupons. Oh well. Good luck! ntag2ndturn
Hey guys. So I'm new to the forum and just thought I would start over here at my home park's thread. I'm a fourteen-year old coaster fanatic. Don't judge me on my age, I still share the same love for rollercoasters as the rest of you, though I probably haven't been on as many. Now, with that out of the way, I guess I will go ahead ask one question. Is anyone speculating a new coaster this year for Over Texas? I've been trying to see over that fence the blocks off where Flashback used to be, but no rides really hold you high enough to actually look down on that area and really let you get a good look, with the exception of Sky Screamer which I have yet to ride (The line, even on like Wednesday's where it's 106 degrees, is almost over thirty minutes, and it just didn't seem worth it considering Titan and NTAG were walk-on). Is there any destruction of the old shopping center going on? I know Screamscape doesn't say anything about it, but I still like to hold hope that maybe a X-Flight Clone (or maybe a custom?) wing-rider might be in store for 2014. At TPR we frown upon and shy away from speculating until there is proof of a coaster being added. "Proof" being a loose term that emcompasses: survey markers, track sightings, leaked plans, hints from the park, statements from the Dippin Dots guy. chadster
Pretty sure I overheard the Dippin Dots guy say they just want to get back to where everything is operating first! Seriously tho, I've had my ear to the ground and nothing concrete has popped up other than rumors that stretch from one end to the other, we will know Aug 29th, but if it's another lame show I'll scream. Personally, I hope they announce they will be fixing Judge and replacing the asphalt with pavers or concrete, I'll give them a pass on no new rides for 2 seasons if they'd just do that! Oh and bonus points if they fix their customer service and operations!

TexasThrillSeekers
I can't wait for the announcement on the 29th! Whether it's a coaster or not, I'm sure I'll still like whats coming. I have heard that OT may make several upgrades throughout the park in 2014. While I don't know if that's true or not, if it is, that's always good to see. They made several upgrades this year and I loved it. I really think OT is the BEST park in the chain, and I hope they continue making the park amazing. No telling what they will do, especially given recent events. It would be awesome to go and actually be able to ride ALL of their coasters because they were actually all open and fully functioning. But that might be asking too much. One time I went and 5 different times, I got up to the ride and they had to shut it down for this that or other. One time on Titan, we all actually sat down and pulled the lap bars down only to have them turn around and pop 'em all open for a malfunction. That was Titan's 2nd shutdown of the day. NTAG, Freeze, and the Cave ride (of all things) all joined in the malfunction party that day. It was crazy. Of course Shockwave was down, too. I asked one of the ride ops if their maintenance guys went on strike or something, and they said they always act up mid-season. Okey dokey! I am suspicious of the fenced off area where Flashback once resided. Crossing my fingers for a good coaster.
arby
^I guess we hit the park at a good time, then. We went in mid April and all of the coasters were operating. That doesn't sound like the norm.

Erik Johnson
If you really want to ride the Texas Sky Screamer, make sure you head on over there first thing. The line can get long and the operation of the ride can be quite slow.
ntag2ndturn
I changed plans from going to the park from a Saturday last month to tomorrow. I haven't been to the park since 2005 and I know nothing about plans to the park. Mind giving plans in the park for me anyone? 1. Go to the Skyscreamer first thing. The line, even on Tuesday's can exceed an hour. Hit Gotham next, Mr. Freeze is still one of my favorites, and Batman is still a fun invert. 2. If you do choose to ride the Judge, I recommend front row, because it's SLIGHTLY less punishing. Never again will I ride in the back. Never again... 3. In park food choices are pretty generic. Newman's Corndogs are pretty good, and so is JB"s BBQ. After this I would recommend Shockwave, but unfortunately Satan has other plans . The Giant of course would be a must hit, but again, it's closed. 4. Titan has been a walk-on the last three times I've gone, and I'm assuming it will be when you go so make sure to get plenty of rides on that. I recommend the back. *La Vibora and Runaway Mountain are best late, on the line dies down. Hope that helps.

Never again... I actually prefer Judge in the rear . I found it to have very good air and while it jackhammer-ed it wasn't truly rough and was completely bearable/re-rideable.
