CD Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Welcome to Jurassic Park...? I hope this doesn't ruin JP's atmosphere.
King_K. Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I'm picturing that they'll bring in lots of tall bamboo to cover the sightline. They already use some tall bamboo in the area.
Speeddeamon128 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 ^Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to an awesome weekend Rockit or not.
themeparkman25 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Wait, I am getting so confused. Is Rockit open at all during HHN? I will be out there the 17th but only during the day, will I get a ride?
Fork Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Rockit will not be open for any HHN event nights, but will be open during the day for day guests. Source: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/features_orlando/2009/09/universal-halloween-horror-nights-hollywood-rip-ride-rockit-dark.html
ryno1986 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 It's not that bad. JP's entrance/exit is steps away from where that photo was taken. If you're going in that direction, you're already leaving JP and if you're going the other way, you won't see Hogwarts at all.
jarmor Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I'm finally headed down to hhn! If anyone want to follw my trip, I'm on twitter www.twitter.com/jarvis_twits I plan on doing he unmasking the horror tours that the finally brought back this year!
Speeddeamon128 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 ^Thanks for the info. I plan on riding it as soon as I get to Universal on Saturday morning. It is working right?
KrakenKing Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 There really haven't been any major problems with Rockit for the past few weeks, minus a few minor breakdowns and switching out of trains, etc. You should have a 98% of being able to ride it, don't worry!
Speeddeamon128 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 ^Thanks that is good to here. I will get two credits this weekend. HRRR as well as the kiddie in Sea World
ryno1986 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 The last two days Rockit has only had a 20 minute wait in the middle of the day, so if you're wanting to discover some secret tracks, now is definitely the time!
Erik Johnson Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 ^Thanks that is good to here. I will get two credits this weekend. HRRR as well as the kiddie in Sea World Do not forget about Manta at Sea World.
adeuce02 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 rockkit may open up for hhn. There working on the moving walkway and a couply other stuff
Duke Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 The Orlando Sentinel says no HRRR at all for HHN this year. Thanks Universal. Bang up job. Why would they open it during the day and close it during HHN? seems like it should be the other way around. http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/features_orlando/2009/09/universal-halloween-horror-nights-hollywood-rip-ride-rockit-dark.html
SharkTums Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Why on Earth does everyone feel that this ride should be open during HHN and have such an attitude about it!?!? You're suggesting that a Universal Studios ride should be closed during the normal park operating day and open for a special Halloween event at night geared towards houses and shows? Most people don't even go to the event to ride rides!
JohanR Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I was at EAS yesterday and talked to some guys at the Mauer Sohne stand(awsome guys, they gave so much info!). As far as they knew, RRR would be open during the Halloween period. It could be close during the night if they want to work on it though.
dell001 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I am about to purchase tickets for Sunday Night of Oct. 25th. I know someone said get the Express pass. But on a Sunday night before school, do you think it would still be necessary to see all the houses? Thank you for taking the time to read my question.
robbalvey Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I know someone said get the Express pass. But on a Sunday night before school, do you think it would still be necessary to see all the houses? YES!!!
dell001 Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Haha thanks, that was lightning quick response. Express Pass Bought. I am from Texas, so forgive me for asking, is it also necessary to buy Express passes for Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure too? Or should I be ok, going in the daytime for the weekend of Oct 23-25? Thanks
piers Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/features_orlando/2009/09/universal-halloween-horror-nights-hollywood-rip-ride-rockit-dark.html It is open over the Halloween season, just not Horror Nights.
PCW_Nut Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Don't know if it's been said before, but I could for sure see one good point for not opening HRRR...it's a distraction...with their scarezones and what not how would it be atmospheric to have a coaster car with bright colored lights zoom by and distract from the scares...

Distractions are perfect in scarezones, makes the actors jobs much easier!

You're suggesting that a Universal Studios ride should be closed during the normal park operating day and open for a special Halloween event at night geared towards houses and shows? Most people don't even go to the event to ride rides! Agreed--a large, lit-up attraction like Rockit would detract from the Halloween atmosphere. Rides like Men in Black and Revenge of the Mummy are a better fit for Horror Night.
twistedmickey Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 ^Sorry but I have to disagree. When HHN was at Islands the Hulk and Dragons were running.
SharkTums Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 ^Yeah and look how well HHN at IOA went over!
