Guest Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 No,I went and it was still raining so no testing tonight. I did see the car on the track but not testing.
King_K. Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Rockit is now testing during the DAY! Taken by SkipperGarrett over at IOACentral.
megamatt Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I second the video motion! Awesome that its testing. I hope that this dosent go the way of Drayton Manors G-Force in that it looks awesome but "rips you a new one"
King_K. Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Ask and thou shall receive! Rockit Testing Video. *Here's another one.
Twister II Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 For anyone not wanting to waist their time, the lift is slow, start the video at 2:30. They must be doing block testing. Great to see! To bad they can't get to the train on the MCBR without a catwalk haha.
justint87 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Thank you for the video King_K! Its great to finally see actual footage of the train running on the track, even though it wasn't a complete circuit. Of course, still in the early testing stage. Imagine if that was the actual lift speed!
dragonskeep Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 There is going to be crazy airtime down the first drop. I will go ahead and declare this to be the best first drop in Florida ( no I didn't forget about Sheikra, I dont care for the pause, love the ride though). Riders in the back are going to be in for a treat I think. I believe in Magic
Lenaapple1974 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Wow, that was totally weird. Of course I had to watch the entire thing... It will be cool to see the difference when it really starts to go. Very quiet too. That was cool. The excitement is killing me!
King_K. Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Video by Dshyates. There's also another video of it testing and doing most of the whole circuit right here. http://www.parksleuth.com/ Photos courtesy of Mookie at IOACentral.
Guest Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 That lift is going so slow I could take a nap before we hit the top. It is cool to see it testing.
rydrmr9 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Thanks for the great footage and pictures King_k! This coaster is going to be well worth the wait!
King_K. Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Yeah, they'll adjust the speed soon. The lift is supposed to go 11 feet per second. Vertical Lift. You strap in, select your soundtrack and race 11 feet-per-second at a 90 degree angle towards the sky. You conquer all 167 feet of the vertical lift, the tallest point of the coaster, in just 16.5 seconds. At the top, you will be at the highest point of any coaster in Orlando. Here's ANOTHER video, but this one's the only one that shows it passing through the firehouse facade.
jjune4991 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 yay! nice and slow to the top...bring on the anticipation.
Homeboy23 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Na they should up the speed some. Two minutes up the lift would create too long of lines.
aldredd Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 ^ As has already been mentioned a few posts back, this is just the testing speed - when complete it will complete the lift in 16 seconds - not 2 minutes
Homeboy23 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I know, I was responding to his comment on going up nice and slow.
jjune4991 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 ^^and you misunderstood my post. It's called sarcasm.
Homeboy23 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Its bad quality but it shows the train going through more than just the loop.
PaulMartz37 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Is it me or are these restraints altered from the typical x-car trains? Seems like the have something in the middle - splitting the curved bar in half. Also, I have a feeling those little gray panels on the side will be the LEDs
PaulMartz37 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I assume its a camera or the music selection buttons. Indeed it is! I just found this pic, along with a whole mess of others, at Orlando Rocks. The top is flat so it definitely has the selection buttons, or screen, what ever it is. And those MUST be the LEDs! Here's the link to Orlando Rocks: http://www.orlandounited.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10&page=61
DiSab Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Aww, and I was thinking those bumps were the world's first roller coaster dildo...
