Backyard Rides

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to obtain these permits? Also, I don't know whether to build a coaster or a dark ride. Certainly the coaster would be more thrilling, but may be damage in the weather and not fun for all ages. A dark ride would be fun and for all ages, but less thrilling and only functional Halloween and other special events. I suppose another option is a monorail or freefall ride. So confused!

If I was an adult, I seriously would have considered buying it. I could always get a lot of land. A roller coaster for $55,000. That is ridiculous. So what, its Arrow. I would be out there every morning picking weeds around it. It would get so much respect from me. I bet I could make it smooth just from cleaning it so much haha.

I build a pretty good walkthrough every year in the woods in my backyard every October. It just gets better every year as I'm able to buy more lighting, foggers, etc. I can't imagine what it would take to build a dynamic machine though, I'd imagine it would have to be kept on the DL if you had the jerky neighbors I have.

I'm thinking of making some sort of skycoaster. All I need is some conviently placed sturdy trees, and some strong cable. Then just rig it correctly.

I dunno. Just some idea that popped into my head... I did make a ghetto coaster out of plywood sheets and a skateboard though. I'll get some pictures of it once I get my hands on a camera. It was pretty sweet. A double down, a tunnel under a staircase, and a hill at the end, which launced riders down the rest of the grassy hill... There were even hints of

I nade a very small backward coaster today. I don't know if it counts as a credit or not, but if it does, I've already got #10! All I need to do is ut some small suports on and finish the slide friction part, maybe even paint it, and it didn't cost a penny.

Seriously, don't think I'm a lier. The last thing I do is lie. I mean look at the Enka Fair! Everyone thought I was lying and I wasn't! Just be pacient.

This i gotta see... This backyard roller ocaster that costs nothing... I will take two!

Lol, I just used old wood around the house that was leftover from a project 1 year ago.

A while ago, I was trying to convince my dad to help me make a simple backyard coaster... It started out just being a drop and a bump, then there was a turn before the drop... however, we didn't have enough space, so it was never started.

This thread is awesome and I'm so glad I found it. As stated previously somewhere, my family owns a section of land in the middle of nowhere, and it's been a dream of my sister and me to make a coaster on it. I think we'll likely start small and grow from there. There's more than enough land for a full themepark, the issue is funding! (Also my family lives there so I doubt the want a themepark in their backyard). Anyways, I'm going to send my sister a link to the logflume ride so they can get started on that. it's hot out so I think that's the best place to start.

I saw a cool backyard ride on America's Funniest Home Videos. It was like a big swing set where you stand on a little ring at the bottom of a pole and rock back and forth until you swing yourself completely upside down about 15 feet up in the air! I think it had a small counterweight to make it easier to get yourself over the top. The coolest part is the little bar over your head that you have to hold onto really tightly or you will fall out! I'm not sure what was supposed to be funny about the video, but it just looked really cool. It would probably be really cheap to make, too.

acutally I have never built a roller coaster but i did build a mini sling shot ride! We had a trampoline but it broke so i took all the springs and hooked them to a tree branch and ran them across to another tree branch and hooked it there then i sat on it and tied string to the roots that were above ground and pulled myself down and let go and it shot me up about 30 ft but then the springs came unattached and i hit the ground so i put a string through all the springs and tied it to the branches but i left enough so it went almost to the ground so it could still move with the springs and it worked great! I still play on it today!
