rcjp Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 I get it that many people get exited after riding a certain coaster which may lead them to say it is the best ever. I remember people saying that after riding Millennium Force (which, for me isn't even the best ride in the park) but that's ok. Now, saying that about Manhattan Express.... come on!
gerstlaueringvar Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 We've got one more. Look at the 7th, 8th and 9th hash tag!
gerstlaueringvar Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 The Ultimate! I've heard it was a death trap somewhere.
gerstlaueringvar Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 (edited) Final winner! She paied $42 to ride it THREE TIMES! *face palm* Her parents might need to educate her how to treasure her life and money lol Edited November 24, 2013 by gerstlaueringvar
traincrossin Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 In my stint working at Cedar Point, I couldn't believe the amount of people who asked me if GateKeeper was the tallest coaster in the park. Seriously, even from the parking lot Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force look much taller without question. Open your eyes people! I was able to convince people GateKeeper went underwater and they were going to get soaking wet, some of their expressions were priceless.
fraroc Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Final winner! She pairs $42 to ride it THREE TIMES! *face palm* Her parents might need to educate her to treasure her life and money lol  She must be taking some GOOD painkillers if she thinks this ride is the best coaster ever.
reissecup Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 "Never knew they had a loopy loop" "That riad is candave like tiaten" "That roller coaster seems like a ride for ppl from the age of 8-13. " Wow, 3 highly uneducated GP members in a row!
2012jarrett Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Forgot to post a good one I heard at Busch Gardens Tampa! Â [probably referring to Cheetah Run] "They's the most fast, agile animals on the planet; there's no way they're not jumping over that fence!" Â And talking to a friend on the bus, I got "Didn't they take out Son of Beast's loop-the-loop because someone died on it?" Â And according to my parents, roller coasters kill more people a year than planes...
SingleRiderCam Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 When I was younger, I was once part of the General Public. Â I used to call steel coasters the coasters that have inversions and wooden coasters the coasters that don't have inversions. Â So whenever I was at Legoland, I classified Technic Test Track as a wooden coaster.
Aceattack52 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 MindBender at SFOG- So after riding a few times, I start walking down the exit ramp and this dad in front of me started telling his little girl about how the MindBender goes as fast as the big coasters. I assume he was talking about hyper coasters. I don't know if he was just lying to try to get her to go on something like Goliath with him or if he was just being GPish.
GwaziBSRider1 Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I remember at Kennywood probably 11 or 12 years ago, I was riding Raging Rapids and these two women had no clue that they were going to get wet. For those who've never ridden it, there are speakers constantly blaring out that you will get soaked. Their reactions were priceless.
reissecup Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 i really hate it when they complain about something being a rip off of something at their home park, completely ignoring the fact that it was built AFTER the "copy"! i've even seen people say demon drop is a rip off of tower of terror
reissecup Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I win this thread. Check out this guy. Here's a taste.  "Why would you like Cedar Point? It's such a dirty and terrible park. Six Flags Magic Mountain cares about quality and is actually clean. So let us continue to enlighten Six Flags Magic Mountain and kill the lesser parks in the world with Cedar Point to kill first."  Check out this link: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqt7ZqZP3wZZk-BLpSf7ZAg  lmao he thinks riddler's revenge was the first stand up coaster
coasterbill Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I don't really blame people for saying that a mediocre coaster is their favorite when they haven't ridden many coasters and don't know any better. I remember a few years ago I was trying to get my girlfriend into coasters and when she rode Hydra at Dorney she thought it was the best coaster ever. She just loved that JoJo roll. Obviously once she rode more coasters she didn't think Hydra was all that great but I understand why people who haven't ridden many coasters think mediocre coasters are great and I can't fault them for that.

It's really annoying when people who don't have their facts right think they do have their facts right.
christianscoasters Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 ^It's somewhat true, just reversed. Kinda sorta. Patriot was modeled after Talon. They are very similar, and Talon came first.
Her0ofLime Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 MindBender at SFOG- So after riding a few times, I start walking down the exit ramp and this dad in front of me started telling his little girl about how the MindBender goes as fast as the big coasters. Likely lying to get her to go on bigger things. I do this with my little brother all the time. The only thing that got him on Runaway Mine Train at SFGAdv was the fact that I said it was 20mph instead of 40
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 This was on the Gravity Max video: Legoland is more higher than this
IneedTPforbunghole Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (Youtube tags don't work) But XYZ isn't a GP.
