Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

A couple of Cedar Point reviews on tripadvisor

I think of Cedar Point as an overall, outstanding park. However, on our last visit (probably my real last visit), I took my daughter on the Thunder Canyon ride. We put our belongings, like a lot of other riders, on the wooden storage bins near the ride. After the ride completion, many of the riders found their property stolen. - I lost a cell phone

The park offered nothing for our loss and not even a return ticket to make up for what we just spent for the the few minutes there

why should the park compensate for the actions of a few selfish toerags? (and just keep your cellphone on you - in a plastic bag if on a water ride)

"However, Cedar Point is not responsible for items lost, damaged or stolen."

http://www.cedarpoint.com/plan-a-visit/ride-policies-and-procedures

ALSO, it says under "Water Damage,"

Due to the potential for water damage, Shoot the Rapids, Thunder Canyon and Snake River Falls riders should leave their cameras and other valuable items with a non-rider or in a locker.

and from a single female:

“Forced to ride with sex offenders BEWARE”

I hated being forced to ride with strangers without warning before I wasted my time standing in line. There should be a single rider line, and sign prior. Single thrill seekers should have the right to ride by themselves. Not to be groped and molested while going up the hill or any other time either.

I Tried to plead with the ride staff, all they said was "don't ride then." This probably happens a lot there since It was three different strangers on three different rides.

Wow & speechless

I have a book (the one claiming KBF's Boomerang was unusual) saying that SFMM's Scream is California's first floorless coaster, and I rode Medusa only a month ago. It also mentions a 42" minimum for KBF's Jaguar, none for Xcelerator, 52" or 54" for Boomerang...EPIC FLAIL!

I've heard some stupid things about Rock'n'Rollercoaster, in line for example I heard someone say "it went faster than the fastest coaster in the world", which makes perfect sense right? NO! If you don't get it just ignore this.

Another Yahoo gem (question included for context):

I went on this ride but I don't know the name of it. So. It was boats that fit two people on each side and it went up and upside down and all that. It was like a smaller version of the KamiKaze. And it was green. Does anyone know the name of it?
I'm not sure, it sounds like a kiddie water ride or a log flume or something.

Looping kiddie rides and log flumes apparently exist.

Another "I don't read the loose articles warnings" review on tripadvisor:

Overall we enjoyed the park and the rides. Our one and only huge problem came when my son dropped his camera from a coaster. We spotted the camera in some grass just beyond a fence but were told we had to wait till the next day for a maintenance crew to retrieve it. The next day it was at the guest office. The batteries were still in the case, but someone had opened it and removed the memory card before closing it back. It was physically impossible for the card to have fallen out without the batteries also falling out, yet that's exactly what the manager at the desk said. Needless to say we missed the photos more than the camera. A dishonest employee ruined what otherwise would have been an enjoyable experience.

I acutally like those comments out of humor.

about a month ago, while in line for Italian job at kd, a kid noticed my Intimidator shirt and said "man, that ride was only good the first week it opened when it went 120mph, it now sucks because they added trims and it only goes 70mph". brilliant, and this kid wasn't even a gp because he wouldn't shut up about the LIM's on Italian job...

On TPR's video of 10 Inversion Coaster in Chimelong Paradise:

omg exactly the same as colosuss at thorpe park stupid china stealing our rides
This comment reeks of stupidity. You really think Thorpe Park designed the layout for Colossus? The manufacturer, Intamin, previously designed an 8 inversion coaster named Monte Makaya for a park in Brazil. Thorpe Park came to Intamin asking for a record breaking coaster so Intamin took the Monte Makaya layout and added an extra two inline twists.

So if anything, Colossus is a copy of Monte Makaya.

this comment reeks of gay, and i know my rollercoasters pretty well so just back off and it cant really be much of a copy if there are changes in the ride dumbass

Well guys, apparently this is what a well educated coaster enthusiast sounds like. "u gay dumbass".

This is not something a GP said, this is something a GP did:

So, I was at LLC today and had a park meet up with SoCalCoasters. When we were in the queue line for Coastersaurus and this one little kid was standing on the fence, just feet from the rails of Coastersaurus and it looked very dangerous. The parents really didn't care that their kid did that and didn't make a big deal about it. I mean this is just odd to see parents not knowing or caring that their child is dangerous. If the kid was injured by the coaster, the parents would blame the park and before you know it, there will be a covered queue and lots of bad publicity.

^It's pretty typical these days for parents to not watch or care what their kids are doing. I've seen kids at stores yanking/smacking windchimes while their parent is off to the side while on their phone. They looked very indifferent as to what their kid was doing.

Anyone see the video of the girl who jumped out of the chairlift at the Casino Pier Amusement Park? She apparently got wary of an approaching thunderstorm when the power got knocked out, and decided it would be better to perform a self evacuation and risk a broken leg by hopping out of the gondola and onto the beach rather than risking getting struck by lightning.

I saw the same thing happening at SFNE one time; little kid was doing precisely that in the Cyclone queue and was balanced rather precariously. I politely told him that it was a bad idea to do that and that he could get seriously hurt, and next thing you know, his mother comes over and starts yelling at me to stay away from her kid, yelling something about racism as well. The kid and his mom were, after all, black; while I am probably the least judgmental person you can find when it comes to race, the kid's mom looked and acted like one of the most offensively stereotypical ghetto mamas ever, to the point where I really felt bad for him. He even seemed embarrassed by her outburst. Thankfully, another guest (who also happened to be black) backed me up and basically told her to shut up and leave it, and she backed down. The rest of the day went without incident, though. Still, people REALLY need to actually parent their goddamn kids instead of just letting them run loose and throwing hissy fits when something goes wrong.

Reminds me about the boy who fell (or jumped, depends on who you asked) from the Drop Tower at CGA. From what I heard, he was mentally handicapped, and was scared to he jumped, but the Drop Tower boy wasn't aware of what he was doing, (and he restraint wasn't locked all the way either,)

I suppose this thread is also okay for weird guests actions, not just what they say.

This was the Jack Rabbit queue about an hour ago. Two rows of people squashed into one row of queue line? Nobody sees the "up" section, I guess.
