Six Flags Mexico (SFM) Discussion Thread

P. 40: Family Boomerang Coaster announced!

I seriously don't know if you are joking or not...but if you aren't...Uhm...I don't even know what to say.

Posted

^^I dare you to find me any guest that out of sheer happenstance would be presented with a photo comparison of the coaster in its previous location versus the current.

In no normal circumstance would ANY general guest look at a coaster like this one that just opened (with a marketing program promoting it as a new coaster) and say "Deben de haber trasladado esta montaña rusa skate Tony Hawk desde el parque San Francisco ... Tenemos que pasa esto."

Posted

This thread went downhill quick. And lets be honest, those cars never looked like skateboards. I think they did a great job. It would have been ridiculous to spend money on new shells when you have 6 perfectly good ones already.

Posted

Seriously, who really cares if the cars are from the days of the Tony Hawk theme? The only thing left over from the old skateboard cars is the siding which looks really good and forms a nice black border.

Posted

With all this talk about how the cars still look like skateboards made me want to make a joking picture of what The Joker would look like if the cars weren't wrapped with Joker theming.

It looks like a roller coaster to me! LOL. Not skateboards!

The new Joker colored paint and theming really made this ride look great!

Try to compare the photos of Tony Hawk's Big Spin/Pandemonium at SFDK from The Joker photos from SFM and see if you can make humorous photo combing pictures of the two coaster!

Posted

O.K. it's just a coaster, so what if it was Tony Hawk's Big Spin and so what if it was from Discovery Kingdom. What matters is it's now got a real theme to it. although Six Flags Mexico could have just used the Pandemonium name and have the track be painted orange with lime green supports and kept the cars looking like skateboards, now that would be just wrong or is it!?

Was that a camera in one of the seats in the on-ride video?

The cars still look like skateboards without wheels, so they must have gotten rid of the molded wheels on the cars before they wrapped them with Joker and Harley Quinn theme wraps. But the Harley Quinn cars still kind of look like the Big Spin cars, the Joker ones look like purple versions of them sans the wheels.

Honestly, you are the only person complaining about the cars...

Maybe they want it to look like the Joker skateboarding. Didn't think of that did you?

On a subject that actually matters, I'm really impressed with how this turned out. When I had heard it was getting a fun house queue, I figured that would end up getting cut from the budget. And with the music, lights, mist and animated props, they did a great job giving it a real fun house feel. Hopefully someday all the six flags parks can build rides that look this nice.

It looks great. Dare I say it almost looks better than Primeval Whirl?

And that queue doubling as a fun house...at least the themeing anyway. Goods stuff, SFM!

STOP IT. Seriously. Let it go.

I congratulate SFM. This is a great family attraction and I love the attention to detail on the theme. Especially the queue line and the circus element. Awesome. Also it looks like they have modified the station to making a continuous moving/loading station. Did Big Spin have the same system at SFDK?

See this video

Another Media video from a local station.

Also check out some of the theming

No, at SFDK the system was diferent. As a curious fact, the engineer that program the Compuratized System of Kingda-Ka, is the same person in charge of the new program of the loading system of The Joker.

Also I want to comment, that riding The Joker at night gives you a totally diferent sensation, as the coaster features a specially designed ilumination with diferent colors, and with crazy movements that combined with the spinning of the cars, gives the riders the experience of the Joker Style Caos.

I want to share some of our pictures taken on the media day:

^Next time you go, can you take a video of the queue line once you enter the clowns mouth.

Sure. Tomorrow I'll be vissiting the park and I make a complete Vídeo of the Fun House and the Ride.

Majorly impressive theming (and a decent family coaster to go with it). Love it!

And yeah, isn't Joker's Jinx pretty much only themed in the queue? I don't remember anything on the actual ride.

Posted

Well the pics don't lie that The Joker has better theming than when it was Tony Hawk's Big Spin. All they for theming did when the coaster was Tony Hawk's Big Spin was put a cut out of Tony Hawk and the skateboard car covers, when it became "Pandemonium" the Tony Hawk cut out was removed, but the skateboard cars remained sans the Tony Hawk brand.

P.S. this will be the last time that I mention the skateboard likeness of the cars!
