SFMM rocks my socks Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 The coaster looks cool and the construction seems to be going faster than SFMM new coaster.
PKIDelirium Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I like this Goliath better than the other Goliaths because it DOESN'T HAVE A BREAK RUN. NONE of the Goliaths have a BREAK run! Anyway... *Points to the Walabi Goliath*
Stitch Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain has a break run ^
PKIDelirium Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Dude, there's no such thing as a break run!
SonOfBeastSucks Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 He means a MCBR, mid course brake run. You can find it on most coasters...
Sir Clinksalot Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Hey, [apperently] goliath's mcbr didnt slow you down when it first opened. so i guess the helix was tolerable, i like golitah's helix though, unlike many coasters, the high g-forces didnt hurt your legs... and only one person's brain failed :? It did slow you down, just not as much as it does now. Funny thing, I remember riding it before they put the MCBR on the way it is now and I don't remember the helix being as intense as it is now.
BiCoastal Kid Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 ^I rod eit opening year and then 3 years after, and I thought it seemed more intense, too. That's very strange.
CoasterCrazy Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 When I rode Goliath at SFMM back in 2000, I remember it having a MCBR before the helix. However, when I rode it last winter it went through the helix slower than it did in 2000. Maybe they are slowing the train down more than they did in 2000? :?
Blazen_AZN Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 it probably feels more intense now because it lasts longer. and to clear up a few things i think the point he was trying to get across is that it is 'brake' not 'break' WOOHOO for spelling
M_Force_4_ever Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 man they are moving fast, I cant wait to ride this thing next summer, and finally get my mindbender credit
ParkTrips Posted October 5, 2005 Author Posted October 5, 2005 More stuff from the park: http://www.sixflags.com/parks/overgeorgia/ParkPress/GOLIATHconstruction.html Including, the, um, logo? *hopes and prays that's not the logo*
socalMAN123 Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 The logo is all sparkly! Wow, this coaster is going up fast! I wish I could ride it when it opens. *sigh* ---Brent 8)
CoasterCrazy Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I also hope that isn't the logo! I would hate to see a big version of it at the entrance of Goliath!
nicktheride Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 It has gone VERTICAL! http://www.sixflags.com/parks/overgeorgia/ParkPress/GOLIATHconstruction.html
CoasterCrazy Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 WOW, I didn't think it would go vertical this fast! 8) I'm going to SFOG this weekend to take some pictures of the construction.
Imhotep Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 This is probably really picky, but something about the paint scheme doesnt look right to me... the track just has that 'unfinished' look to it, with everything being silver but the box part of the track. It looks to me like half the track is bare metal. I guess it just looks odd.
woah_killa Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 OMG, i can't wait til it opens!!! AHHHHHHH, i'm goin in oct. and on season pass day so...i'll see it then!
jarmor Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Looks like six flags one up'ed ya and finished the coaster!
ParkTrips Posted October 26, 2005 Author Posted October 26, 2005 LOL! I forgot about the photos they posted of Nitro..err.. Goliath already in action!
Jeezus Juice Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Just what is the guy in the front row doing to his lapbar? http://www.sixflags.com/parks/overgeorgia/images/GOLIATH03.jpg Looks like his 'Oh Yeah!' pose. Jeezus "Has never humped a lapbar" Juice
Homey G. Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Won't take nearly as long to top off either with it's 45 degree lift hill. Think Batman Dark Knight at SFNE.
lexington Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 It seems that the staircase would only be on the right side? Kinda like Silver Star.
DATman Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I hope this ride is over more than just a mass of concrete cough *SFMM* cough
arrowfanman Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 Damn! I hate when they take other coasters, and re-edit the colors! SFMM still uses Medusa, colored to look like Scream! on all the park banners!
