DoinItForTheFame Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 ^ I sure hope it is a joke... Otherwise...
Philrad71 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 I remember seeing this and thought it was an April Fools joke as well. I am not sure if they mean that the entire "burger" is all chocolate, or is it ground beef dipped in chocolate? Either way, I agree with your post - yuk!
Dombot Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 It was an April Fools joke, but imagine if it was a faux burger for dessert... think about this; brownie bun, solid dark chocolate "patty," white chocolate "onions", and a raspberry/strawberry "ketchup"... it'd most likely cause diabetes in like a bite, but I SO would try that.
Nrthwnd Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 ^ Well, the video is practically the "How To Create One", yes? And I agree, the "beef patty" could just be a layer of soft chocolate (not the really hard bar stuff), and the rest of it all is pretty easy to re-create. I have seen a Burger Cake usually displayed at one of our local market franchises, in their bakery section. It looks delish. But I think this "burger" would be a better and more interesting this to try - eat - savor - melt over.
CaptainUnknown Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Anyone for a burger topped with an oven-fried Tarantula? Win the opportunity to try one now in Durham, SC.
Philrad71 Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 My co-workers dared me to eat a bacon-cheese flavored (dehydrated) cricket the other day and I did...but this is just absolutely disgusting. I would vomit instantly if I bit into that. Plus, don't they have venom in their glands...how would you not get sick eating that?
Nrthwnd Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Well, I had my cricket burger, last year at the PNE. And I think beyond that, that's enough for me, at this time. (Until this summer's upcoming PNE. Stay tuned...) "What I Ate At The PNE, Last Summer." (o;
ytterbiumanalyst Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Nope. NopeNopeNopeNopeNope. This. And may I add, NopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNopeNope, and also Nope. I'm normally adventurous. I've had escargot, and octopus, and eel, and liked them all. But I draw the line at spiders.
DoinItForTheFame Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Anyone for a burger topped with an oven-fried Tarantula? Win the opportunity to try one now in Durham, SC. Having done Fear Factor many many many years ago... I can say I've consumed things I never thought I would. That being said, I'm drawing the line at this. That burger is just... NO!!
Nrthwnd Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Omg I just had one these at my fave poutine place - burgers are GOOD there, too! This one's called The Ultimate, costs about $15 Cdn., and worth every dollar spent, lol! The Ultimate Burger is your choice of burger (beef ~ veggie ~ salmon ~ chicken),served on brioche bun with mushroom, fried onion, cheese and either a sunny-side up egg or bacon] http://www.belgianfries.ca I LOVED it!!! prozach626 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Holy crap. I really did have chills run down the back of my neck when I saw the picture of the tarantula burger. "Excuse me, sir. Are the tarantulas locally grown and do they eat grain free crickets?"
Nrthwnd Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 ^ Funny, but that's exactly what ran through my head when I ordered that Cricket Burger back in August. Truth! And the guys running the food truck had all the answers to give, as they've "heard everything asked about it" heh heh. Won't go into details , but I was convinced, no problemo. And I ordered and ate one. And it was good. ....Or you could eat a tarantula as was, grilled and on a stick, in China. TPR 2012 China Tour. And thank you to our lovely model Holger, for actually eating one of these disgusting things!
Nrthwnd Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 Cute little Mexico tourism ad, I found on the net...
CaptainUnknown Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 Came in to post a couple burgers I've had in the past week. Up first is the Steak & Shake Royale. Bacon, cheese, and a fried egg. Decent enough for a fast-casual chain, but the name reminds me so much of Pulp Fiction. It didn't help that I was dining with my father, Marvin. Burger #2 is the Glazed Donut Burger (with added egg) from Sickie's Garage in Fargo, ND. I didn't enjoy how the glaze melted into the burger patty, but it was otherwise delicious.
Nrthwnd Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 ^ I'm not much, for either a glazed donut burger, or one with a fried egg in it. But put a heap of BBQed crickets on that sucker, and I'll be all over it, LOL! That said, the fries with the Steak & Shake Royal burger, look crispier than the glazed donut ones. Were they? Just curious. At last summer's PNE. I had one, and it was GOOD, too! Truth!
Nrthwnd Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Just found an awesome little article online, in regards to McDonald's menu items you CANNOT GET IN AMERICA! (Or not get in America, any more.) From McDonald's comes these tasty round-the-world local cultural items.... http://www.hooch.net/these-foreign-mcdonalds-food-items-will-have-you-on-the-next-flight/?utm_source=ya&utm_campaign=366874258-9696091863-ya&utm_medium=HOMEPAGE_CA-ya&utm_content=50edb7-34241039919-ya&utm_term=c-nutella_don.jpg-n-ya&firefox=1 Example: Not a burger, but still awesome! In Japan only!
CaptainUnknown Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 On Monday night, after getting off a shift at Valleyfair, I had to go to Muddy Cow for their $5 burger Monday special. I enter the building to find a group of about 20 getting seated before me. Whatever, the burger will be $5. I can wait for it. I'm seated. I order. My burger comes out about 8 minutes later. The EKG Had my old standby in an egg burger--known here as the EKG. Absolutely delicious and the fries were almost orgasmic.
Nrthwnd Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 I just bought these on eBay....for $6.99 and they're from Tokyo Disney Sea! And I am still not sure what the food is OR what country The Mick is repping. (Italy? France? Europe?) But, Pluto's on The USofA's always reliable Burger and Fries! They all look so cool, and I can't wait to put them up on the holiday tree, when winter gets here. There is only 1 set left to buy, if anybody here is...interested? https://www.ebay.com/itm/4x-Tokyo-Disneysea-Disney-Sea-Sushi-Figure-Mickey-Pluto-BIN/123224739267?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D52953%26meid%3Da849cc7e4aca4d288919d6d27fce17fe%26pid%3D100970%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D7%26sd%3D123224739267%26itm%3D123224739267&_trksid=p2481888.c100970.m5481&_trkparms=pageci%3A7b14ed52-89f2-11e8-8174-74dbd180d9d1%7Cparentrq%3Aa995b2861640aa42f67d8913fff9df51%7Ciid%3A1 Yum Yum to Everything! Nrthwnd Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 (edited) Happy 50th Birthday, Big Mac! First introduced at McDs in 1968. At least this one looks more real, than the TV ones. :sighs: Edited August 1, 2018 by Nrthwnd
DoinItForTheFame Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I don't know what this is... but it looks... Good, and nasty all at the same time...
