ajfelice Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 The lakeshore took a beating in Erie yesterday, and continues today. Visibility was near zero driving back from some sales calls, so I figured why not slide down the Peninsula Drive hill, use my climbing abilities to get to a gate on a raised concrete platform (note: I have keys and permission to enter these areas), and get a photo or two for the park socials. I also love the colors of Whacky Shack against all the white snow.
Nrthwnd Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 ^^ Hah! The Wacky Shack photo makes it look like (to me) it's that all-gingerbread and cookies/candy Wicked Witch's house, in Hansel and Gretel! ^ And that first shot is really nice. Even without the snow on the track, heh.
DougMJr Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Here is a shot from Saturday, courtesy of Carowinds FB.
Nrthwnd Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 ^ Where's - the - snow? (And is that white sand in that oversized planter?)
coasterbill Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Here's a Chinese knockoff piece of crap running with a dusting of snow on the ground...
coasterbill Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Sorry for the double post, but this is pretty cool.
JordyC Posted January 24, 2017 Posted January 24, 2017 Some snowy pictures from Walibi Belgium today.

chickenbowl Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Here's a picture from the one time I rode a coaster in the snow. This is the mountain coaster at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, NY. It was late December of 2014, 8pm, and 16 degrees. The rails were frozen! Quite an interesting experience for riding a coaster!
coasterbill Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Yeah those things can run in anything. The only time we ever rode one was at Camelback in PA on a -2 degree (F) day. The upper mountain was on a wind hold but they could still run the mountain coaster. Since it was so cold, nobody was in front of us so we never had to touch the brakes. It was awesome. Brit on the ride, since I went first we only got a picture of her riding it. lol

That's pretty cold! In Pigeon Forge this past summer, I'd ask the attendants if I could wait an extra 10 seconds to get some space in between me and the person in front - If I'm paying $10 for one ride, I want it to be a decently fast ride! I believe that's an ADG model too! There's only a handful of those around. I still think it's funny that a company called "Aquatic Development Group" makes mountain coasters -- I work with them on some of our North American FlowRiders.

DoinItForTheFame Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 From Cedar Point's BookyFace. From Cedar Point's Twitter. From Tony's Twitter.
EccentricGamerCL Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I like how Mean Streak is just barely visible through the trees in the second-to-last photo.
Nrthwnd Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I found this shot of TDS w/snow a few years back on the net. And I really wished that belch of fire was a bit bigger, too. But hey, It's still a great shot. Thank you to whoever took this shot.
BigBad Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 @DoinItForTheFame That GateKeeper photo is awesome!
ajfelice Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Some additional Thunder River angles for all the log flume enthusiasts out there... And I also liked this one of Steel Dragon I got a couple days earlier.
