Hey everyone!

 

Theme Park Review is proud to announce that we are working with Give Kids The World to help raise money for Coasting For Kids 2013!

 

What is "Coasting For Kids?" It's a fundraiser hosted by Cedar Fair with the proceeds going to Give Kids The World. In short, it's riding roller coasters for a GREAT cause!

 

Team TPR will consist of TPR members raising money while riding roller coasters. But we need riders! And this is where YOU come in!

 

We need as many TPR members as possible who are willing to ride a coaster at a Cedar Fair park for six to eight hours. You'll register your donation page at the links below, and get as many of your fellow TPR members, co-workers, family, friends, FaceBook friends, Twitter followers, etc to donate to your page. Top riders who get the most donations will get some cool stuff, too!

 

Team TPR Members will also receive a signature banner with a direct link to your donations page along with some special prizes for you and your donors depending on how much you raise! (See below)

 

Below are the links to start your donations page for the Cedar Fair park you wish to be a rider at. Simply click the link, go through the registration process, make SURE you affiliate yourself with Team TPR, and then reply to this thread with a link to your donations page so we can help promote it!

 

There is a tax deductible, $25 registration fee that will fully be donated to Give Kids The World. That fee will also include your event T-Shirt, ERT on a roller coaster (TBD) on June 9th, food and drinks the day of the event. You do not need to worry about park admission. All participants will be required to pay the $25 registration fee and raise a minimum of $75 in order to participate.

 

This should be a lot of fun for a great cause, so I recommend everyone participate!

 

Coasting For Kids is happening on Sunday, June 9th at a Cedar Fair park near you! Register below to help raise money for Give Kids The World. You will get to ride a roller coaster for six hours. Be sure to affiliate yourself with Team TPR!

Registration time and location: 9 – 9:50 a.m.

Complimentary parking available to participants only during registration time

Event time: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Marathon will take place on: Flight Deck and Vortex

The participants will be divided into two groups, with each riding one coaster for four hours and then switching to the other coaster for four hours

Additional itinerary details:

Meal time and location: 2:30 p.m. at the Picnic Plaza

Awards ceremony time and location: 2:30 p.m. at the Picnic Plaza

Regular park operating hours: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Prizes: 1st place: Four 2013 California’s Great America general admission tickets, four Backyard BBQ vouchers and a Peanuts prize package

2nd place: Four 2013 California’s Great America general admission tickets

3rd place: Give Kids The World gift basket

Canada's Wonderland

Registration time and location: 8:15 a.m. at the Front Gate Exterior Kiosk

Complimentary parking available to participants from 8 - 8:45 a.m. Please print a copy of your fundraising page to show parking booth attendant.

Event time: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Marathon will take place on:

Vortex: 9 – 10 a.m.

Behemoth: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Meal time and location:

Breakfast at 10 a.m. at Marketplace International Buffet

Lunch from 1:30 – 3 p.m. at Marketplace International Buffet

Awards ceremony time and location: 2 p.m. at Marketplace International Buffet

Regular park operating hours: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Prizes: 1st place: 2013 Canada’s Wonderland VIP Tour for four ($1469 CDN Value)

Complimentary parking available to participants only during registration time

Event time: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Marathon will take place on:

Magnum: 8 – 9:55 a.m.

Gemini: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Additional itinerary details:

Pre-ride meeting at Magnum entrance at 7:45 a.m.

Meal time and location: 12 – 1 p.m. boxed lunches served at Coasting For Kids tent outside Gemini

Awards ceremony time and location: 5 p.m. ceremony and group photo on Gemini lawn

Regular park operating hours: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Prizes: 1st place: A four-hour VIP tour of HalloWeekends, which includes exclusive front-of-line entry to any of the rides or haunted attractions

2nd place: Four 2013 Cedar Point HalloWeekends general admission tickets

3rd place: Give Kids The World gift basket

Dorney Park

Awards ceremony time and location: 1:30 p.m. Center Stage

Regular park operating hours: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Regular park operating hours: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Prizes: 1st place: Son of Beast plaque with piece of track and letter of authenticity and a bolt from the ride, plus four 2013 Kings Island general admission tickets ($345 value)

2nd place: Two structure bolts from the Son of Beast roller coaster, plus four 2013 Kings Island general admission tickets ($270 value)

Knott's Berry Farm

Awards ceremony time and location: 1 p.m. Coasters Drive-In

Regular park operating hours: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Prizes: 1st place: Four 2013 WOF general admission tickets, park souvenir pack, OOF cabana on return visit date ($350 value)

2nd place: Four 2013 WOF general admission tickets and t-shirt ($200 value)

3rd place: Give Kids The World gift basket

 

There currently is no maximum number of participants for this event.

 

NEW PRIZES FOR PARTICIPANTS AND DONORS!

In addition to prizes for the top three individual fundraisers at each park, all participants will be rewarded for hitting the following fundraising benchmarks:

 

$500

Participants raising at least $500 will receive a Coasting For Kids awareness band bracelet

 

$800

Participants raising at least $800 will receive a Coasting For Kids carabiner clip keychain and tally counter to keep track of their laps

 

$1,000

Participants raising at least $1,000 will receive a special edition “Top Fundraiser” t-shirt and one Fast Lane pass to be used on the day of the event

 

EXCLUSIVE TO TEAM TPR PRIZES!

$75

Participants raising at least $75 will receive three Coasting For Kids Team TPR Stickers that you can give out to select donors.

 

$200

Participants raising at least $200 will receive three Coasting For Kids Team TPR buttons that you can give out to select donors.

 

$400

Participants raising at least $400 will receive a "Team TPR" Drawstring bag!

 

The cut-off date for fund raising to get the additional TPR items is May 31st.

 

There is a lot more incentive to get those donations in! Post about your fundraising page on your Facebook, Twitter, or anyplace your friends might see it! Even just a $5 donation will help out!

So, is it a donation per ride sorta thing? And all the prizes are on who gets the most rides?

 

My marathoning days are pretty much over, especially on the KD coasters listed.

 

Do you wait in line with the public?

 

Damn work internet filters suck. I'll have to look more from home.

It is a flat donation, not pay per ride. And at KD you act as a single rider and fill in the empty seats, you wait by the exit.
