netdvn
^ Thank you Flipdude! I was waiting for a big-name TPR artist like you to see my work. I'll definately follow your advice. Part of the reason some of the buldings look strange is partly because I don't user a ruler. As for the pre-lift picture, I can definately see some wierd angles with the pathway. I'll try to fix that with later updates. I'm trying to finish up the unfinished pictures and will get them posted as soon as I can access the scanner. FLIPDUDE
^Actually the pathway is the most believable bit in the picture. I was reffering to the track itself. And it's not the straight lines that bother me, it's mostly the round parts.
netdvn
Aah! I see it now. The banking on the track does look a little strange. The round parts are like that because I go over them multiple times (they look much messier if I don't go over them. Because the work was made in pen, I cannot go back and fix it. netdvn
The update will be a little late since I can't seem to get my scanner up and running. So in the meantime I'll post some pictures that I already scanned but haven't posted yet. Hopefully I can get my scanner working tomorrow. An Arrow Suspended WITH TUNNELS!!! Here's another teaser. The sign is HUGE. IMO!
netdvn
Dan's Theme Park Artwork Part 3b and 4 I'm gonna post the last of the Grind pictures as well as introduce a brand new park. Music City USA is a fictional theme park build outside of Nashville Tennessee. It is part of an entertainment complex owned by Gaylord Entertainment which consists of an outlet mall, tons of stores, dining, hotels (including one with an indoor waterpark), and a theme park. The park features three major coasters. Delta Demon - GG Woodie Thunder over Nashville - B&M Hyper Soundwave - Vekoma Indoor Spaghetti Bowl as well as a brand new coaster opening this year, Wabash Cannonball 2. (B&M sitdown) Now for the pics... DBru
I love that last drawing... You have a talent with B&Ms. They look a little rough and jerky, though.
FLIPDUDE
you're showing some improvement. in the last drawing our shapes are much more realistic and less rough than in previous drawings, and the only place you can see an odd shape is the loop. you also did a good job on the hill the B&M coaster is on. the part before the hill, and the entire B&M layout in the pic before it though still have alot of odd shapes that are supposed to be round and symmetrical but tend to be made out of straght parts. Keep up the improvment! you're heading in the right direction
netdvn
^ I've worked extra hard using pencil instead of pen and working much slower. I'm glad you see some improvement, and I'm definately gonna fix any problem areas. My next update will take a little longer, but I hope the results are much better. They look a little rough and jerky, though. I'm gonna try to fix that. Thanks for the comments everybody.
netdvn
Dan's Theme Park Artwork Part 5 My parents blocked TPR with a firewall and using a proxy really slows my computer down, so I'll have to post the rest of my pictures on another site.http://smouch.net/lol/ The next update may probably be the last update I'll post on TPR at least until I can find a better, faster way around the firewall. I've posted tons of other pics there that I didn't post here. Here are some random old drawings that I had lying around. It'll hopefully keep you busy until the next update. Anyway I'll try to post close-ups of these pics so everyone can see the detail in the next update as well as some Six Flags Over Northwest pictures. - Dan "wish I was a hacker" Nguyen The same town that I posted above, it is slightly unfinished. This was made a few months ago. Another retro pic, I made this in sixth grade. This is my fourth oldest drawing. The others are either framed or too big to fit in my scanner. A picture of the same town that I made in seventh grade. Nobody taught me how to draw. This is a picture of a town I drew not too long ago. jazzimm
I always feel so outdone in this thread! Haha, well here are a few semi-recent pieces of mine! My sketch of another artist's work. I've been going through a very long mermaid phase haha. Capricorn! I've probably already posted one version of this, but I'm fixing it up all nice and I may get a tattoo of it. My version of Mark Ryden's Rose Joker distortion!
FLIPDUDE
^^Well, I wnated to ask why your parents blocked TPR, but seeing as they did I doubt you'd be able to answer, unelss of course you were seeing htis message from another computer.
netdvn
^ My parents thought I spent too much time here so they blocked it. I'm using a proxy server to get by, but its really slow at times. ^^ The first and second pics rock! You should post more if you can. I really wanna see more of the Joker pic as well. netdvn
Dan's Theme Park Artwork Update Part 5 Six Flags Over Northwest is the smallest original Six Flags park as well as one of the best-kept SF parks overall. The park opened with seven different lands... Six Flags Street, United States of America, Russia, Great Britain, Washington, Oregon, Spain, and France. NOTE: I have trouble drawing coaster trains so the trains do not look perfect. I've spent hours trying to perfect the trains and this is the best I can do without actually looking at pictures of the real trains. More info on the park later.... I still have a number of SFON pics that I still need to post. And on to the pictures... Thunder Looper is the park's Arrow looping coaster. Built in 1996, SFC is the Northwest's oldest B&M coaster. A pic of one of the midways... Rides from right to left - Fiesta Express (Matterhorn flat) Dodem Cars, and Paratrooper Tower (Parachute Tower). The coaster in the background is Superman Ultimate Escape (Intamin Hyper).
paintballer
Made this in like 2 hours. Guess what ride, it's easy!
netdvn
Dan's Theme Park Artwork Update Part 5 Six Flags over Northwest Of the original lands that opened with the park in 1975, only Six Flags Street, Spain, Britain, France, and the USA remain. In 1976, Washington and Oregon were merged to form Northwest Territory and most of the original Oregon area was turned into the Canada section. In 1990, the Russia area became Siberia and featured snow-themed rides. 1996 as part of Superman Fighter Coaster's opening, part of the USA and Great Britain area was converted into Metropolis Park, which became DC Comics Plaza in 2001. 1999, a small part of the Northwest Territory, Spain, and France area became Looney Tunes Boomtown. 2010, a Wiggles World is possibly in the works. ...More to come soon! This sign has been sitting in front of the park for over 30 years. The coaster in the background is the new Batman - Dark Knight. This is basically an old-meets-new shot. I did not include the other two flags in this shot. The observation tower - called the Lighthouse has been a major park icon since the park opened. netdvn
^ Thank you for the comment. I greatly appreciate it. Dan's Theme Park Artwork Part 6 The Timberlands Resort The Timberlands Resort is a resort built in the late 1800s. It began as a resort, but a spa, ski area, and nature trails were added over time. In the 1920s, the Resort opened a small amusement park which did fairly successful until Six Flags Over Northwest opened 30 minutes to the north. SFON advertised bigger, more thrilling rides and attractions that drew guests away from TL. TL had a tough time competing with SFON so they started by adding new rides. Normally when parks cannot compete with bigger, full-sized theme parks, smaller parks tend to go under. However in 1979, TL decided to go one step further and built the world's largest looping coaster, Loop of Faith. With an extensive ad campaign, thousands of people showed up for the grand opening and SFON began losing customers. Since then, both parks have been in direct competition. TL is known to have better atmosphere and SFON has been known to have more thrilling coasters. Both parks are highly successful and both parks provide thrilling coasters and excellent family rides. Sorry for making such a long-winded post. On to the pictures. Loop of Faith (Schwarzkopf Looping Racer) brake run with Air Raid and Plummet (Intamin Gen 3 drop tower) in the background. Industrial Hills section - Toxic Punge is a heavily themed water ride. Timberlands is a Pepsi park while SFON is a Coke park. Air Raid (Intamin Mega-Lite) is in the background. Windstorm is a heavily themed Intamin Impulse coaster. It is located in the Middle Harbor section of the park. Western Civilization area - It's basically a combination of the Old West and a modern American city. The B&M Invert is called Twisted Chaos and the Woodie is a GCI called Vigilante. dmaxsba2408
Where do you come up with these great names for rides. Can I send my next park to you and have you name everything and send it back? Just kidding, but they are really great names. Your drawings are excellent!
netdvn
Thank you for the comment... The names either... 1. Come to me randomly 2. Are ripped off from real rides. 3. Come from some sort of inspiration 4. Are based off of RCT rides that people post here and other sites Sometimes I have to sit down and come up with certain names for rides. And sometimes the names of the ride change. For example... This ride is named after the original Wabash Cannonball at Opryland This ride is based off of Maverick so I decided to give it a Western name (Outlaw). The coaster in the background (Millennium Dragon) is a combination of the names Millennium Force and Steel Dragon. Rampage just came to me randomly. This coaster (Grind) was originally going to be called Sky Fighter, but the name didn't really stick to the ride. All of these coasters have been posted on previous pages if you're interested in learning a bit more about them.
